Long Energy

I used Long Energy since from 2010 through 2018. Called late Sunday evening when boiler (heat and hot water) would not stay lit. Answering service said they would call back. Stayed up, but no call back. They called back Monday morning. I asked what happened night before and was told, "I want to know that myself." Guy offered to come out Monday afternoon. I declined.

perfectly, no hassles, explained to me what my best price options were, told me how to size the furnace correctly and they had the best price. I got on their waiting list and had a new Payne furnace in about one week. They did excellent tin work to match up the existing duct work with the newer, smaller footprint furnace, just great workmanship all around.

They have a 24 hour switchboard. They are very prompt in responding. They are very nice people and they know what they are doing. They have been in the business for over 70 years.

They're on Angie's List and were also recommended to me by friends that I trust. It was $860 approximately, which was quite a bit lower than the original estimate. When they came to give me the estimate some of the things I had been told previously by the other company were incorrect, which I didn't realize. Also, they came with their sales manager, who is also an engineer, one of his associates and two workmen to give me the estimate. They went over my heating system so thoroughly.

Long Energy is a deceptive and dishonest business which no one should use. The Long Energy technician offered us two options after he examined our older AC system: (a) replace the fan motor and capacitor in the outside condenser unit or (b) install a new AC system. We chose to replace the condenser parts and, after paying the technician almost $760, the AC only lowered the temperature in our home by 1 degree from 80 to 79 in almost eight hours, ran continuously, and never reached the thermostat set temperature of 75 degrees. The technician returned the following day, claiming that the unit needed about $140 worth of refrigerant. It still didn't function any better than the previous day. After speaking to the owner, Mr. Robert Long, we were only offered a nominal refund of less than $30. We, eventually, bought a new AC system from another company.

they were short staffed for a couple of days but sent someone to assess the situation . The new water heater was installed the next day..a first rate job. Rich was professional , personable, proud of his work, took time to explain what he was doing.

I like them. I still use them. I haven't had any bad experiences with them. They have always been a good provider. We pay for a package that includes the check on the heating system.

Went great. Excellent counseling on specs for the propane heater installation and hookup. Excellent explanation on pricing in propane delivery. Courteous and professional.

As above this final visit went well and I will know in a few months if the leak was actually repaired.

They seem to do pretty good work. I have an annual contract with them that includes the cleaning, inspection, adjusting, and discount on work if anything has to be done besides that. I pay $125 for each system.

They were really good about fixing my furnace. It was end of October 2011. I have a maintenance contract that is about $300 dollars a year. Even if the furnace goes out in the middle of the night or early morning, they are here within an hour and they work the night. They do not charge anything extra. This comes under the maintenance and that is wonderful. That is the maximum amount I have because at my house everything breaks for no reason, I get the best contracts. I would recommend them to others. I use them at my rental house too. They also bring the propane to my rental house. They are very good. When the furnace goes out, they never call me until they run out. I call Long and they will make it as quick as they can within 24 to 36 hours even if it is not a delivery day over there, they will deliver it for me anyway. They are really good about that. They do not make me wait. They will be exactly at the time they possibly can. I do like the way they bill. I do like their billing department. I plan on using them long term.

On a very hot and humid summer day, my home a/c unit decided to quit on me. I ended up calling Long Energy in a panic as it was approaching the close of the business day, and they were able to immediately send someone over. Evidently, they have 24 emergency response services, which I was unaware of (but happy to learn about!) The worker was highly knowledgable in his field and was willing to educate me as well, as I was an eager student. He ran a thorough diagnostic on the a/c unit as opposed to just trying to rachet up an unnecessary bill and take advantage of the situation. I found him to be very honest, diligent, friendly, and hardworking. Luckily, he did have the part needed to repair the a/c back into fine operating condition. Approximately 1 month later, a representative from Long Energy gave me a very unexpected courtesy call at home to follow-up on the work they had done, to make sure everything was still running in proper order. In the jaded world that we live in, it was just very refreshing and extremely nice to encounter such excellent customer service. And just an FYI...they offer both heating and a/c Service Plans which will lessen the fee if you ever find yourself calling with an emergency; as well as take care of the general maintenance. After my very positive experience -- I will definitely be signing up.

They traveled 35 to 40 miles from where they are, but did not charge me for that travel. A lot of plumbers charge you from the time they leave home. They didn't charge me for that. They charged me for the copper pipe and the time that they spent with me. The guy was courteous. He knew what he was doing. I felt safe having him in the house. I do have my account with them and I prepay my oil bills. They are good and provide a great service. I paid by cash, and they billed me for my cash. Then I wrote a little note, and they warned me to be careful as there might be errors or something. I would use them in the future.

They were courteous, professional and on time. I am about to replace the oil heat with gas. The only reason I cannot use them is because they do not belong to the NYSERDA program, which is too bad.

They did a real good job. Since the old tank was all rusted out, it was hard for them to get it out of my home without it breaking into a million of pieces. They were very careful on getting the tank out of my house.

The job was done smoothly and in good time. The only thing that bothered me was that it took them about four weeks to come out after my original call because they have a big area to cover and are very busy.

THEY'RE GOOD IF I KNOW WHAT I'M ASKING FOR. IF I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG, SOMETIMES THEY DON'T KNOW EITHER. SOMETIMES BY THE LUCK OF THE DRAW, IF I GET A GOOD MECHANIC WHO KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING, IT'S GREAT. IF THE OWNER'S SON COMES, FORGET IT. IF YOU GET A GOOD TECHNICIAN, THE PRICE IS COMPETITIVE FOR THE INDUSTRY. I HAVE TO BE A SMART CONSUMER. I HAVE TO INTERACT WITH THEM AND BE A LITTLE AGGRESSIVE.

THE PRICE WAS VERY FAIR THEY WERE VERY TIMELY WITH THEIR ESTIMATE AND COMING TO GET THE WORK DONE. THE WORKERS WERE VERY EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL. THE NEW HEATING SYSTEM HAS BEEN EVERYTHING THEY SAID IT WOULD BE.
