Kim's Cleaning Service

My son has gone back to school for his doctorate. I live out of town. My son’s wife has been incredibly supportive and I wanted to surprise her by having their house cleaned. I explained all of this to Kim and we coordinated a window for my extremely busy son to be home to let her in. I sent Kim a check for the full amount in advance of the scheduled date. The day arrived and Kim called my son (a critical cardiac care nurse) to say her father had a heart attack. Naturally, my son called her later to ask how her father was, since hearts are his specialty. Kim told him it was a false alarm. I now assume it was because she would not be able to provide any credible details to a heart specialist. They arranged a new date for my incredibly busy son to be at home. This time, the excuse was a hurt back and she said she was in the ER. When I called her soon after, it sounded like she was in her kitchen, not the ER. To her credit, she had not cashed the check, which I promptly stopped payment on. I’ve never been so disappointed in a person or a service in my life. I explained how special this was and how busy my son is, between the hospital and school. If you can’t DO the job, don’t TAKE the job! Use any other cleaner on Angie’s List but this woman. Please read ALL of her reviews. I wish I had.

No call, no show. And once I called her, all I got were excuses. I'd have had no problem if she needed to reschedule, but give me the courtesy of a phone call.
