Govel Welding Inc. is a small family owned and operated business in Colonie New York. We have 3 employees who are all family. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards as forms of payment. We strive to make our customers happy and provide them with a functional, cost effective expierence with whatever they may need done. We offer a warranty on ALL of our work, we tell our customers "if you have ANY problems at all please stop back and we will take care of it for you" We do a very wide variety of welding repair and fabrication. Lots of people can weld and there are other shops out there, we tell people "we dont need all of your welding work, we want the stuff everyone else cant do." We are always up for a challenge, and we dont mind fixing other people's mistakes. "We can repair anything but a broken heart or the crack of dawn!"

We offer many diferent types of welding, MIG, TIG, stick, brazing, lead and silver soldiering, specialty torch welding, plasma cutting. We can repair, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, brass, silver, pot meatal, magnesium. Shear, bend, and roll sheets of steel/aluminum. we are your alloy wheel repair specialists. Rusted/rotted cars, truck, equipment. IF ITS METAL WE WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT!

I brought in a small brass item that needed a small spot weld. It was important to my wife but not valuable. Mr. Kovel appreciated the project and turned it into a labor of love. It took a couple of days, but the result was better than could have been expected. My wife was delighted. Priceless.

My 1990 Volvo wagon needed some repair to pass inspection. Govel Welding was recommended to me by the mechanic who services my car. It has been a family run business for over 60 years and I found the owner, George, very helpful and confident the car could be repaired. I did have to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment as it is a very busy shop. The left and right front frame at the control pocket was welded, my car is now ready for inspection and I know it will pass. The cost was very reasonable and the job well done. I would definitely recommend Govel Welding for any kind of auto frame welding.

They fixed it, charged me a reasonable price and I couldn't have had better service. I appreciate this type of company that didn't say - we don't do that type of thing (they weld and fix trucks, etc). I got the lamp shade back the next day - the service was professional, fast, and accurate. Thanks Govel Welding!!!

Couldn't have gone better.
Description of Work: The frame on my truck had rust holes and didn't pass NY State inspection. George Govel gave me an estimate and an appointment to have the work done.. The work was completed and the price I paid was less than the price quoted. George explained that the frame was not as bad as it appeared to be so less time was needed to make the fix. The price was $250 less than estimate. The truck passed inspection.

Not only did Mr. Govel return my phone call the same day! (Many calls to others went unanswered) Not only did he say " if it's made of metal I can fix it" no matter how small the job! I dropped my fixture off in 2 pieces and was told to swing by 3 hours later to pick it up. Before I pulled out of the grocery store parking lot...maybe 1 hour had passed...Mr.Govel called me and said he decided to fix it right away so I can come and get it!! Perfectly repaired and already placed on my kitchen ceiling. I am A+ happy with how I was treated and the workmanship!

Description of Work: George repaired badly rusted portions of the frame on our 2004 Ford Escape The other option was to replace the rusted pieces with new parts, the cost of This option, was prohibitive for a 9 year old vehicle. Aside from the rusted frame, The vehicle is in great shape, with 95,000 miles. Now that the frame has been Repaired, and it will pass the annual NYS Inspection, we look forward to years Of use from the vehicle. George is professional, courteous, honest, and more than Reasonably priced, a great experience dealing with his business.

His name is George Govel and he is really excellent. I would recommend him very highly. He is outstanding. He is very competent, and he is very ethical. He is highly ethical, and it is unusual in this state to meet somebody so ethical. I do need welding occasionally, and I have gone to him 5-6 times in the past.
