Description of Work: Replaced gas furnace with high-end variable Bryant furnace and smart thermometer. I was pleased with everything except that four days after installation and an overnight away, I discovered the system down due to overheating as a result of parameters not set appropriately in the thermostat installation. This was fixed quickly by a repairman at 5pm on a Friday and I have had no issue since. I think the installer was not familiar with this thermostat.

Description of Work: 2 services. 1sr was an emergency call when the furnace did not light. The serviceman came at 10:30 and handled the problem. He also pointed out several other issues. One of which he told me that I could fix for far less than it would cost if he were to do it. He came back and fixed the other furnace problem. I would use again without hesitation

Description of Work: I used Family Danz Heating & Air Conditioning to replace the furnace for me.

Description of Work: I needed to provide HEAP with estimates on the repair of my furnace. It was late August and we'd had no heat and hot water since May. School was about to start and the hoops required to run through for HEAP assistance, although reasonably necessary, were not going to provide warm showers any time soon. To get the furnace repaired I first had to hire Suburban to be my fuel provider. They in turn, send Family Danz out for repairs. I made an appointment for them to come and diagnose the problem and give me a written estimate for HEAP, BUT BUT BUT, if the problem is repairable at the time of this service call AND I can afford it, can we skip this $99.00 DIAGNOSTIC and I just pay for the service? The answer by the receptionist was an affirmative. The serviceman came, found the problem to be a filter at the tank needed changing, replaced it, took my $99.00 + tax and said he couldn't make the decision about the charges but talk to the receptionist, she'll take care of ya. What is boils down to is this: If I hadn't come forth with the plan that they come out to perform a" diagnostic" (my term), I probably wouldn't be charged this additional $108.00. They would have sent a technician to take a look, fix it if he had what he needed in the truck, and charge me for the repair and the call. I, however, opened the door for another service they could charge me for " a diagnostic " in addition to "the usual". Of course Family Danz did take full advantage and billed me for another $200.+ !!!!! When I called to dispute the bill I lost the argument. I asked for mercy, to pay monthly the remainder. The reply was " we don't do payment plans". So it was all or nothing. I chose the nothing and never heard from them again....till now.....with a letter from their lawyer! Still no mercy, all or all. But wait, there's more! Just after Christmas the furnace shut down again. This time M and P Plumbing& Heating were at the house to repair my stove. The owner of this local business and his helper, after repairing the stove, went to the basement to do a "diagostic" on the furnace AND the water softner (NO CHARGE). He fixed the softner (NO CHARGE) and found the circulator to be the problem on the furnace. It seems to me that Family Danz, HAVING DONE A DIAGNOSTIC IN SEPTEMBER! might have noticed something happening with the circulator, or maybe my furnace didn't break down because of a dirty filter after all? ! # ? Hmmm, recommend Suburban or Family Danz? These are local family businesses? FAMILY DANZ SUBURBAN FUELS. I think maybe they attatched the fuel pump onto my house and pumped what I had into their truck! That'd be a NO. NOT RECOMMENDED

Description of Work: Serviced furnace and were to fix humidifier that wasn't working. After first service, they said humidifier worked - it didn't. Called back service rep, rewired the furnace with an additional charge of $250 (3+ hours). Fixed. In spring air conditioner would not work. Called Danz - service rep said previous rep mis-wired and disconnected the air conditioner. No charge. Started furnace this year - humidifier doesn't work and a part is missing. Called for service under service contract. They can't come until after the service contract expires.
