Description of Work: Bennett Contracting did a complete renovation of two bathrooms and the kitchen along with other improvements throughout the house. The age and configuration of the original electrical and plumbing systems required the knowledge of all aspects of renovation in these areas and an excessive amount of problem solving and creativity. The head carpenter used the resources of Bennett's electrician and plumber when required to consult and discuss the idiosyncrasies of the original installation. All of the professionals involved were polite, amicable, and fun to interact with. All were considerate, cleaning up everyday in spite of my insistence that I would take care of it. The head carpenter moved like speed of light, an unbelievable amount of energy, every day, always arriving at the time stated. His suggestions were politely put forth to help me see the necessity to keep the visual appeal of the space a priority. His obvious care to explain the reasons for alterations were all discussed with me. The creative sense of him was unusually refreshing and impressive, an excellent eye for the aesthetics of space, visual, and functionality was impressive. At the job completions he freely offered suggestions to continue creative additions to the remaining jobs that were still left to do because of budgetary restrictions, all of which I will utilize, when time allows. I will probably end up having Bennett Construction back to complete the work, knowing they will do a perfect and speedy performance of the work that I know in spite of my having the ability to do the work, I ended up being in way over my head. I have no reserves about having Bennett back in my home. The head carpenter became part of the family, looking forward to his arrival every day and missing his daily presence at the end of the job. Well done!

Description of Work: They replaced a piece of aluminum facing on the very top of a two-story building. The work was done quickly, everything was picked up and they arrived at the job exactly when they said they would. I was extremely pleased with their work.

Description of Work: I put the job off until later in the year. Always a pleasure dealing with Bennett Comtracting.

Description of Work: They installed new columns for the entrance way to my house, and replaced the doors on my shed with wider doors. They did a good job overall but they were fairly pricey. They had to remove two large hornets nests from the old columns so I didnt want to do this myself. I also asked them to fix a gutter issue where water was falling between the gutter and siding, and they installed a diverter to try and divert water away but it didn't really work. However, this wasn't the main reason I hired them so it wasn't a big deal.

Description of Work: After heating pipes froze and broke. Water leaked into the basement damaging the finished basement ceiling. Bennett replaced the damaged part of the ceiling and painted the entire basement ceiling.

Description of Work: They put in a half bath and insulated my upstairs room where the bathroom was completed. I have nothing but praise for Bryan and Joe- they did a great job in every way. Plan on having them return for more work we want done.

Description of Work: Installed new bathroom steam vent. They had to re-do it because of a mistake they made, but did not charge for the extra hours. Overall good service, very professional, easy to deal with. Mistakes happen, but they handled it professionally. I would hire them again.

Description of Work: Replace kitchen sink and sink plumbing.

Description of Work: Ice dam broke off a large piece of fascia board at roofline. Bennett was responsive to an emergent situation and made repairs promptly as promised.

Description of Work: They renovated the upstairs bathroom. updated the electrical, removed old wall tile, removed old floor tile, removed old sheetrock from walls and ceiling. They installed new medicine cabinet, toilet, sink with vanity, and installed wall and floor tile.

Description of Work: We needed help with are house that had a fire we only spoke with one person. But had several emails with another that were down right nasty. We would never call them again or recommend them

Description of Work: We had two windows installed (kitchen and garage). They removed a cupboard from the cellar and filled in serious breaches in the foundation of our older home and insulated all around the original footprint of the house. They also repaired and painted a bedroom ceiling. All of the team from appraising the extent of the problems to pleasing our needs and insuring a successful outcome were outstanding. We would not hesitate to recommend Bennett to others and would seriously consider calling them regarding future needs.

Description of Work: Bennett did a small plumbing job for us, replacing and upgrading two toilets. Although the job was a small one for a remodelling company, they were prompt responsive, did quality work and did not over charge.

Description of Work: After having roof installed,including sun tunnel, I needed the interior finish work completed. The original contractor kept putting me off. I called Bennett and they were able to come the same day. They were so responsive and very nice to do business with. I would definitely call them in the future.

Description of Work: This service provider encased my wooden window sills in aluminum so they would not deteriorate in the wet weather.

Description of Work: Bennett (a firm I've used before) installed two new doors: a new front door and a fire door to replace an old wood door between the kitchen and garage. |The carpenter who installed the doors was professional and amiable, though work that I thought would have been done in a day took him closer to two. I noticed a few weeks later that the doors were not properly weatherstripped (light from the garage was visible around the edges of the new door even when closed). I called, Bennett cheerfully scheduled a second visit, free of charge--another lengthy day, as it turned out. I would hire them again, I think--but only if quotes from other firms are more expensive.

Description of Work: I was disappointed by the attention to detail in the work. I expected a better level of fit and finish. Some work had to be redone and was improved, but overall I was not impressed by the job. This was an insurance job and their estimate did correspond well with the insurance company's number.

Description of Work: It was difficult to set up a time for the estimate. Finally we were able to accomplish that. And then he never got back with the estimate.

Description of Work: Bennett Contracting gutted our kitchen which included taking down a wall between the kitchen and dining room, pulling up linoleum floor, carpet, and hardwood flooring and moving windows along the back of the house They scraped off 3 rooms worth of popcorn on the ceiling and smoothed out the entire ceiling, installing can lights. They installed cabinets according to our layout, subfloor and new tile floor, replicated and continued crown molding throughout the new layout. They installed pendent and undercounter lighting and all the finishing touches we agreed upon. It took a couple of weeks longer than planned due to a change in our plans about flooring but they arrived daily and worked all day, leaving the workplace neat at the end of the day. The carpenter talked to us about the work and offered suggestions but always left the decisions to us. We were very pleased with the outcome and love the new kitchen. Our calls to the project manager were always returned the same day and our questions answered.
