They were very good. They showed up when they said they would show up. They were very responsive the first time. They were friendly. It was pretty extensive work they did.

Steve did a very good job explaining the process and giving a fair estimate. He was there every step of the way to make sure I was happy with the work. The guys who did the work did a great job of getting to the house early every day. They were able to answer every 'annoying homeowner' question and concern with no problems or judgement. The job took a little over two weeks. The workmanship on the deck was wonderful. Every edge was routed down. I haven't gotten to use it yet since it's been cold but it looks great! They cleaned up everything and no detail was left untouched. They even fixed the spring on my garage door (at no charge) that happened to break while they were working. I'd defintely use them again.

From the estimate process to cleanup from the installation they were excellent in all respects.

Recently had a Generac generator installed and the installers had concerns about the split bolt connection for the stove in the cabinet. They recommened I have it checked by a licensed electric contractor. Called Bennett Contracting because I have used them many times for various projects (siding, windows, doors & ice storm repairs) and was always very pleased with their work. Their electrician checked the electric cabinet and found no problem with the split bolt connections. The electrican verified that all the cabinets connections very secure & tight.

They did a very good job. I had no problem. They did the work efficiently and carefully. The two men that came to do the work were both very agreeable. I was pleased with everything. They scheduled the work immediately for a few weeks or a month. They had done part of the windows last year so they called me because they knew that I wanted to have the rest of the windows done. It took two days to complete the project. They were not cheap but they were worth it.

Estimates and detailed measurements were made at the end of July 2011. Work was started in early October 2011 but was interrupted by extensive rain. Crew needed inside access to remove the old windows and remove the lead-based paint. This turned out to be less inconvenient than I originally feared as we generally only had to move furniture about three feet from the walls for access. We allowed the crew to store project materials in our garage during the project. Crew was very responsive to our requests including labeling 39 sets of original wood shutters. Repairs to rotten wood were handled expertly and efficiently. The crew also removed and replaced old insulation under the sun porch which proved difficult due to the extremely confined space. They showed up in a timely fashion and left the work area clean at the end of each work period. The end result was very noticeable in terms of heat retention and noise reduction - we about 50 yards from NY Rt 7. The final bill had no surprises.

They were excellent. When it comes to the quality of work, it was very good. Their responsiveness was very good and they were on time. Their professionalism was excellent.

Responded quickly to request for estimate. Estimator very professional. Took a few days for the estimate but the estimate was professionally done and the lowest estimate we received. Other companies who gave us an estimate gave us an estimate on the spot but they were obviously "ball park" type estimates on their part and were higher than Bennett's. Bennett was able to do some trim work that other companies said couldn't be done (at least not by them). We had other work to be done by a different contractor which had to be done first before the siding job, and once we were ready for Bennett and wanted to schedule the work, we had to wait a few weeks for a work date to be scheduled because they were in the midst of a large job. They arrived on time and completed the work quickly to our satisfaction. We understood that the estimate did not include costs of "lead paint safety" issues (a new law), and we did question the amount of those costs when they were added, but Bennett worked with us on that issue and it was satisfactorily resolved.

I can only speak highly of them. I like that they clean up after themselves and that their work has been very competent. The men that have come out have been polite and I don’t mind having them around. They would be the first ones that I would call. We find that their prices are competitive and that we get what we pay for.

It was a positive experience for the most part, but we have issues with the porch. We have to keep calling back and they are still not finished. I still found some things on the railing that they built over the porch. There is a railing post that has to be replaced, which I noticed the other day. So, I have to keep calling them back. They did an excellent job on the siding, but the wood working part is not excellent. The quality was not as good as the quality of them putting the siding on. The wood worker wasn’t as good as the siding people. My overall experience is because of the porch problem. When it comes to their price, they were not the cheapest, but they said that they would stand behind their work and they would come back if anything was wrong. So, I went with them since I kind of felt comfortable with them. Their punctuality was good and they were professional. I would use them again.

It was a great experience. Their price was good. They did excellent workmanship. I would recommend them to anyone. It was a decent price and lot less than some other groups that we had estimate from. They were very nice to deal with and their prices are very reasonable. They have a very good workmanship. I will call them again. They were great.

The job was started on time and the crew finished earlier than anticipated. The siding looks great, the windows all look good and operate smoothly, the installed doors work perfectly and seal against the elements very well. The exterior lighting looks great. A few days after the job was completed our area experienced a wind storm that pulled some trim up. I called the company and was informed that one of their employees who lives nearby had noticed the damage and had already scheduled a service visit for the repair to be done. Bennett did not charge me for this.

We didn’t use them because we felt that they were overpriced.

My experience with them was very good, and I was very happy with them. Their prices might be a little bit high. When they put the door in, the two guys that came were very conscientious. They did nice work and cleaned up after themselves. I did not have any problem with them, and I was very pleased. I would have them do more work for me except that their prices are a little high. I would have to probably check around before I call them, but they would definitely be my first choice. I didn't have any problem with them.

First, we had a gutter company out because we thought it was a gutter problem due to which water was getting thrown into the room but that was not it. Then we had a roofing company out because we had a leak in our family room. They made an effort to fix the problem, but they could not fix the problem because it turned out that it was actually the result of a bad repair by Bennett Contracting, Inc. a couple of years ago. When they sent the guy out here he admitted that. Then when they realised that they were going to have liability for inside of the house, they resented that. What they had said out loud, they wrote a bill that suggested that was not their fault. They claimed that they did not actually fix anything and they still sent us a bill. Moreover, the thing whatever they did, the leak actually stopped. They did fix something. They just lied. We were actually going to send a big review to Angie’s List. I actually spent time in giving them a good review writing good things about them. I reviewed them first in 2009. They did a lot of work for us and I liked them. Therefore, when I had a problem I called them. When it turned out to be their fault, they lied about it. Obviously, my opinion about them has gone 180 at this point. We actually had documented their duplicity; we have phone calls and emails that show they are changing their answer after realising that they are going to pay for something. We hate liars. In terms of price, they were expensive because we thought we were hiring people who would stand behind their work. Among the quotes we had, they were the highest. In terms of responsiveness, they came quickly and then lied about what they were doing. When they were talking, they told my husband that they were fixing stuff and then when they wrote the bill, they stated something else. We would not use their services again in the future.

This job was completed in 4 days as promised. The work began before around 7:30 each day and the workers were done by 3:30. We were very pleased with the work done. The area was left cleaned up and the deck and retaining wall look great. My only complaint would be that I signed a contract the end of April and sent a deposit of $1500, the job wasn't begun until the last week of August. They originally called me in June to say they were tied up and I indicated sometime in mid-July would work. That didn't happen. I did call in August and the job was scheduled and completed. I have had Bennett do other repairs and upgrades and have always been satisfied with their work.

.Bennett Contracting, Inc. gave us an expensive estimate. But when we asked him if he could itemise the estimate so that we would not do certain things for the house, he just got belligerent and accused us of not wanting to do what is best for the house. His quote was for $42000. They weren’t friendly and they were not interested in lowering the price. To keep the cost down we were even contemplating of not having that extra insulation if we do the three A rating. I don’t recommend them at all.

They did an excellent job. They communicated very efficiently. Their estimate was correct. I would use them in the future.

It was good. They came and gave us an estimate on the remodeling project we are considering.

We are very happy with them; they are very responsive. We had them do several smaller jobs for us like rebuilding outdoor doorways and quickly doing some lighting for us. They do the work well and they take their time. I’m sure they could do speedy but we were looking for someone who was more careful than fast. I really appreciated the extent to which they consulted with us as the job moved along. They were very careful to discuss the options with us as things became apparent. The manager checked in daily and the person primarily doing the work was careful and friendly. I liked that the people working at my house all had great things to say about Bennett as an employer. They had all been working for the company for a long time and they liked working for them. They worked well as a team and I was very happy with them. I thought the price was very reasonable and they were always here when they said they were going to be.

I will use them again in the future. The price was comparable to other competitors.

Steve came out to view the work that needed to be done. He first thought that the frames holding the old windows were rotted, however, when Dean and Glen arrived and pulled the old windows out, they were not rotted, so I received a credit for not replacing the window frames. Work was completed, however, because of a miscommunication, the windows were not framed in. I called Steve and almost immediately, Glen arrived and framed the windows. Work well done. This company is great to work with!
