In the future I would only check out any subcontractors, but would still use Bennett.

We're fairly happy with work, and will likely use Bennett again, but the results weren't as perfect as we would expect given the premium price we paid. I've learned to be incredibly specific when describing work to be done in order to avoid discrepancies in the details of the job. The job started much later than originally estimated (supposedly some delay was due to permit paperwork snafu which we discovered when checking up on the progress of the building permit Bennett applied for), and it took longer than estimated. Job site was clean each day, and workers were punctual most of the time. The guys who showed up to do the work each day were friendly and willing to talk with my wife and me. We found early on that there was uncertainty about what exactly was to be done when there were some options, so my wife made it a habit to speak with whoever was on site each day to review the work that was to be done and to ask questions about specifics. This worked well as it revealed several questions and issues that would crop up when we weren't there, and allowed us to give input as to what we wanted and head off several surprises. Deck - they took down an existing wood deck that was beginning to deteriorate, and replaced it with Trex decking and vinyl railing. We had chosen to have optional lighting installed, but the light kit was not what we expected (clamshell off rail posts, shining down). Instead, the lights were small LED cylinders that were countersunk into the decking around the railing line. There were only 10 lights to the kit, and when my wife and I laid out votive candles to imagine how the 10 lights would be spaced, it was apparent that 10 lights were too few for the size of the deck (15'x14'). We pointed out the issue and an additional light kit was ordered (additional expense over original estimate). The end result looks good, but isn't nearly as functional as what we originally had envisioned with rail-mounted lights. Area around original stairs was reused for new stairs, but patio block that was pulled up was not replaced, and new stairs just empty into bare dirt. I was surprised that I was expected to finish the project. Siding - this was a very simple job, and it was done for the cost of materials. It looks good and resolved the issues it was meant to address. Porch overhang & entry door - entry door was installed without much issue, but we did notice the striker plates (there are 3) each had the finish gouged on each one of them, likely happened when the door was mounted in the frame. There were drill holes mistakenly made in the concrete porch pad when the columns that hold up the porch roof were installed. The holes were patched, but they are still visible. The fiberglass trim that surrounded the original entry door was reused, but was not cleaned up or repainted, so now it really looks in need compared to the new door. The piece that originally had the door bell mounted in it and a hole to accommodate it was now mounted on the opposite side, with the hole filled - unfortunately it's still noticeable. The piece without a hole is now over on the doorbell side, and has a doorbell mounted to it. It wasn't explained to us why the switch was made. The columns, made of a man-made material, were left unfinished and unpainted. This was absolutely puzzling, and when questioned about why they hadn't been painted, we were originally told that was because it hadn't been specified, but when I pushed the point that it was reasonable to assume they would have been finished as part of the project, Bennett agreed that since it wasn't clear in the contract they would paint it for free. As far as we were concerned, it was simply what we should have received. We had an electrical issue a few months after the job was completed, and it impacted our deck lighting, leaving the electrical work from this job as a potential suspect. Bennett has been responsive in coming over to review the issue, made a diagnosis (cause is unrelated to their work), and have been very helpful in ordering replacement parts for the affected portions of the deck lighting, as well as temporarily addressing the electrical issue (a shorted out front lamp post) until it can be tackled properly in the spring.

They came out and gave me an estimate and then came back to get a signed contract. As soon as they had the windows in stock, they came out and installed them. I was totally amazed at how fast the installation went. They have people who are specialists at every stage of the process. They follow up afterwards to make sure everything has gone smoothly.

Bennett replaced all 14 windows, 2 sliding glass doors and 2 picture windows. The wrapping they applied to the outside of the windows is beautiful, they did an excellent job. At the beginning of each day they came in and told me what work was being done for that day and at the end of the day they cleaned up and came in to say good bye and what time they would be back the next day. They all were very nice and professional. They were finished when they said they would be and came in to show us how to work the windows. I would highly recommend Bennett Contracting to anyone...They won't disappoint....

Bennett was great. The individual that did the work, Steve, was really professional, courteous, punctual, and friendly. Couldn't have asked for more.

Steve Drozdyk was the project manager and always addressed and answered any concerns during the job. He was also on site everyday. The job went very smoothly and the workers never left a mess.Kings

They were there for me and did everything that they could to help me out, but unfortunately the cost was more than my budget would allow. They were punctual and I appreciated how accommodating they tried to be, so I got a refund for the Big Deals I purchased. I can speak highly about how great Angie's List is.

The technician came to the house, discussed the work, prepared an estimate, which was sent promptly. When I agreed to the work and the price, the date was scheduled for the work to be done. The person who came out to the house was polite and efficient. Worked with me to discuss the lattice work that ended up being an additional project, outside of the initial contract. Because some of the supporting work that we thought had to be done didn't have to be done, I ended up with the lattice work making up that difference. Questions I had as to the care of wooden steps were answered courteously.

The team of three men did a great job! They are thoroughly professional skilled craftsmen. They arrived on schedule each day, informed me at every step of the process and completed the job as planned.

George came and priced the job. Just before the job began, he brought the head carpenter to discuss the job. Just before job began, assistant came & moved stones. Then work began and in 1 week was done!

They were extemely professional. Great job. Very responsive to customer. Performed the work on schedule and within estimate. When there was a concern with electrical they responded immediately and stayed until fixed.

Great! They finished the job ahead of schedule, and the workmanship was great. Our house looks brand new. The guys were really friendly too.

The crew arrived as anticipated and got right to work. To worked hard every minute they here and got the job done in the prescribed time frame.

They were very punctual, very courteous. The job took about 4 days, but aside from that it was very good.

the I found Bennett by cross checking out carriers list of recommended vendors with Angie's list. I placed a call on Monday. Despite the fact that contractors in the area were busy due to the storm, we were able to coordinate a stop while the crew (Travis and David) were working in our area on another job. The gentlemen were willing to call while they were on their way to minimize my time away from work. They arrived promptly got to work and did the entire repair within the minimum time allotment for having a contractor come to the house. When I returned to the office, I had a message from Travis indicating that he had failed to properly seal the siding and would be back to finish the job (or send someone else in the area over by end of day). Overall this was as easy an experience with a repair as one could expect. I will absolutely get a bid from Bennett on a renovation we intend to undertake early next year.

The estimate was finalized rapidly. They were available to answer questions. All the paper work was taken care of expeditiously. Crew arrived on time and did exactly what they said they would with minimal disruption of my life.

It went very well. Key strong points were: always returned phone calls in a timely manner ; Having the craftperson in the house was like having a considerate adult house guest. Quiet, clean and neat at all times during a slow process. A dispute over the quality of part of the reconstruction was dealt with promptly, courteously and fairly; The contractor dealt very effectively with the insurance company who supported about 50% of the work.

Bennett always sends professional and talented workers to my home. They are clean neat and always explain what the job is. will always use them for my home repairs/ additions.

It went extremely well. They were responsive to my concerns and made suggestions to make the project go smoothly. Kevin was very good to work with.

They felt the job was too far away. It IS quite a ways. The fact they got right back to me says something about their responsiveness and desire to help the customer.

We are extremely happy with the work Bennett did. They did a great job my house looks amazing. Now i wish i could do the inside of the house to look as great as the outside. When that time comes we are defiantly calling Bennett.

We believed that the work would be completed by the end of May. The screening panel sub-contractor sent the wrong screen frames with the wrong screening. We specified open screen panels of bright aluminum screening. They sent sectioned panel of black fiberglassscreening.The screening panel sub-contractor correctly remade the the open frames but again installed the incorrect black fiberglass screening. The sub-contractor could not find the correct screening so I found it available at all Lowe's stores. It was correctly installed in the frames. I removed construction debris (wood, plastic and metal) from the lawn, deck and inside roof to prevent damage to the grass and newly installed carpet.

Work was performed well and in a timely fashion. Follow-up to resolve issues is excellent and sustained.
