Description of Work: Was ok experience. The tech that was sent out was pretty chatty; I was trying to work from home (in the same room in which the work was being done, the kitchen) and it got a little annoying. He told me that the catch pipes under my sink were corroded and needed to be replaced, but refused to fix them without reconfiguring the ENTIRE system underneath the sink (for like $400) b/c it wasn't done the way they would currently recommend. I believe he went as far as to state it COULDN'T be done, until I pointed out my husband (who is not actually even that handy) had switched out one of the worst fittings just a few weeks prior (for $30 fitting). I didn't find him terribly easy to deal with in general, between that and the constant chatter. Lastly, the sink handle was installed slightly crooked and when I called to ask them to correct, I was given dates with windows of all day or 4 hours. Since it was their issue to correct (and would literally take a plumber all of 5 minutes) I haven't had them out to fix since I cannot commit to such a large window (I work all day). | |We've had them in the past and they have been good; I hope this is just a one time less than ideal experience.

Description of Work: Farrell Brothers conducted a comprehensive plumbing inspection leading to implementation of important fixes in both Kitchen and Bathrooms. At our request also resolved several other outdoor plumbing issues with efficiency and ingenuity. Inspection of our aging water heater led to replacement of that unit and we asked them to bid on installation of a new high efficiency furnace and central air conditioning unit (all aging out) + humidifier + new thermostat. During and following contract negotiations we were consulted at every stage, all on the Farrell Brothers team were professional in every way. Randy Rowe (President) could give a seminar on excellence in responsiveness to customer inquiries and issues - that piece alone was unparalleled in our experience with contractors. Highly recommend, without reservation.

Description of Work: On a weekend they responded quickly to our need for a replacement water heater that had failed. Thye were able to install a new heater the same day and they were prompt, polite, friendly and professional. They removed the old heater and cleaned up thoroughly. There was some additional charge because it was a weekend but the overall experience was very positive and I would definitely use them again for other plumbing/heating needs.

Description of Work: I used the Farrell Brothers $49.00 service coupon from Angie's list to have them come look at a problem we were having with the drain to the washing machine. Farrell Brothers were quick to respond and within a few minutes confirmed what I knew to be the problem. The workers did a great job with the new pipes they installed and with cleaning up. My only concern was the expense and the use of the service visit coupon. Again within minutes they knew what needed to be done and gave an estimate of $450.00. When I asked if the $49 service coupon would be deducted from this cost, they said no, they only waive the service fee if the job is over $500. Personally, considering that Farrell Brothers offers to do free estimates (which this really turned out to be, an estimate) why not waive the service fee (for five minutes of service). I remember another commenter writing to express concern about this, and would highly suggest that if you want to use Farrell Brothers and this coupon that you ask ahead of time what exactly they mean by service calls. In my past experience with plumbers, a service call meant you paid the plumber $90.00 for an hour worth of service (fixing whatever problem was identified). In the scenario at my house I basically paid $49 for 5 minutes of service. Certainly within their right to do this, but as a customer it felt a little much for me. Again the quality, responsiveness, etc. were great, just not sure about the pricing.

Description of Work: I needed to have a sump pump replaced. I did have a back up system in place so it was no emergency but I wanted it done promptly to not stress the back up. I phoned Farrell Bros based on reviews in Angies List. The office personell were very friendly and scheduled my job. I was at work when they came on the following Monday but my son was home. They arrived on time. I spoke to the repairman on the phone and he almost apologetically told me it was going to be $499.00, a standard price. I agreed but lamented the price believing that these pumps were expensive. When I followed up after I came home I discovered that the pump that was installed was available on line for $120.00 plus shipping. I contacted the office and asked for an itemized bill, which they promptly sent as follows; Pump $200.00, service call to come to the house $99.00, labor $200.00. Total $499.00. I later discovered that if the total was $500.00 dollars or more they waive the $99.00 service fee. The repairman was in my home for a total of 75 minutes, that's $160.00 per hour for a labor fee. If I can buy the pump for $120.00 plus shipping, say $24.00 how much does it cost Farrell Bros, certainly not more. That means I paid approximately $350.00 to have Farrell Bros come to the house and install the pump. In my opinion that qualifies as a rip off. | |I did not comment on the professionalism of the repairman because I was not at home but I can say that he was very nice on the phone and my son said he was pleasant and seemed competent in his work. Description of Work: I noticed water stain on first floor ceiling beneath second story toilet. Called Farrell Brothers based upon Angie's List reviews and ratings. Eric responded to request for Whole House Plumbing Inspection and Water Heater Flush for Only $69 using Angie's List special coupon on 11/21/2013. He diagnosed the stain source and probable cause. He found the garbage disposal was not draining properly. He drained and flushed basement water heater tank. He inspected all plumbing fixtures inside and outside of the house and recommended repairs and replacements. He returned on 11/26/2013 with all necessary parts. He repaired/installed flange in one leaking toilet. He Pulled and reset all three toilets with new wax rings. He installed three new toilet supply lines. He installed three new toilet flappers. He replaced the improperly installed double drain assembly in Kitchen sink. Eric completed the projects and thoroughly cleaned all work areas to my complete satisfaction.

Description of Work: Used I think subcontractor. He had to go buy the part he needed although it was a simple elbow pipe. Should of had that on the truck. It took him less time to fix the sink had it took him to get the part. Also I noticed when I came back from vacation ( I went away right after he fixed it) that he moved the sink from the cabinet when he put in the pipe. I am very disappointed in the service which I paid top dollar.

Description of Work: Randy and his team did a superb job in executing the delivery and installation of a new HVAC system for us. They are honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable and highly skilled in their profession and we give them our highest recommendations.

Description of Work: Problem was the toilet occasionally backing up (I'm on a septic system). I thought he was going to "rotor root" my toilet drain pipe, but he snaked it instead, with a longer snake than I own. I've had no problems since. So, I'm glad he came out.
