The original service call was for Wednesday, May 28th from 12 - 4. I received a call mid-afternoon that day postponing the service call until the next day because there was a light rain. So if you are taking time off work and need your outside unit serviced, please check the forecast before you stay home. Apparently they do not come in the rain. They explained they would call the next day to schedule another service call. The next day, I waited home all morning expecting a phone call and never received one. At 12:30, I called them to find out when they would be returning and was told it would be that afternoon. A service tech did come shortly after I called and assessed the problem. He came back with a diagnosis of a bad compressor on the system and a bill of $2900 to fix it. He must have sensed my shock at such a bill because he went on to say he was able to get me a really good deal. I explained I would think about it and let him know what I would do. After he left, I called Roland J. Down for a second opinion. I initially went with Farrell Brothers because I preferred to pay $49 for a service call with their coupon, rather than the $90 for Roland J. Down. I called Roland J. Down around 2:00 and someone was out within a half hour. The service tech was really nice and after troubleshooting came back with a diagnosis of a bad capacitor. He replaced it and everything began working again!! I wrote him a check for $276 for the service call and the replacement part and the whole call was done within 45 minutes. So my attempt to save a few dollars ended up costing me $49. I will definitely call Roland J. Down again.

Purchased Angies List $99 deal. Serviceman arrived on time on scheduled date. He thoroughly cleaned and serviced unit for optimal performance. System now working extremely well.

Randy, the owner, came to inspect my plumbing system and to provide an estimate on a prospective issue with a home I am in the process of purchasing. He gave an honest and easy to understand estimate that assisted us in fully understanding the issue at hand. I look forward to using his services further when our purchase is complete and would recommend that others call Farrell Brothers for friendly and prompt service.

On a Monday morning I requested someone to come out and deal with a clogged drain. They sent a team out that morning to complete the job. it didn't take long to learn that the 40 year old drainage pipe was crushed/corroded and beyond repair. The guys called Randy (the owner) and he arrived 20 minutes later. We were in agreement that a new pipe would have to be installed and they began digging that day. Nick and Adam did everything I asked them to do to minimize the damage to my lawn and flower beds. I so appreciate the professionalism they displayed on this job. I was treated with respect and my opinions were sought when needed. Without hesitation I would hire Farrell Bros. again. Thanks to Angie's List for helping consumers find quality people who can be trusted to work on our homes.

The Plumber was very professional and knowledgeable. He want around the house to check on all taps in bathrooms and kitchen. Tuned a couple of toilets that had a high water level to get them to the right water level on filling so that there was no potential to leak. Also, flushed one of our Hot Water Heaters. Will certainly call them again.

Just had a new AC system installed by Farrel Bros., got a great deal and fantastic service! Everyone from the lady who answered the phone to the owner, to the guys who did the install were friendly and knowledgeable. I called on Friday explaining I needed the system ASAP because I have my 81 year old mother living with us, plus my wife has asthma. By 9pm Monday evening we were enjoying the cooling air of our new system. The installer took the time after a long hot day to make sure everything was up to par and then gave me some tips on making the system run better and last longer. I would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing, heating and cooling needs!

It was replaced quickly. I was not told that the hole wasn't deep enough. When we had snow melt, it wasn't working properly. My husband called them up and he was told he basically got what he paid for. We paid for a new sump pump and that is what we got.

We noticed that there was a large amount of water leaking underneath our ktichen sink. This was a DIY handyman special and I knew that it was only a matter of time until it failed. But it had been that way when we moved in, 4 years ago. We have used Farrell Brothers before so I called them again. I entered a work request online and someone called me by 0730 the next morning. Their receptionist is so nice. She put me on the schedule for that day but said that it might be much later in the day before someone could get there. By 9am Eric called to say that he was headed to our house. My husband had waited at home just in case the could make it in the morning and was still home. By 930 Eric was there and done by 11am. He replaced all the PVC pipes under the sink and changed the drain from the dishwasher. No more leaks.

It was excellent. The technician that came to my house was very personable. Explained exactly what he was doing and looking for! While he was here I asked him to quote a repair that needed to be done on the Furnace as well as a quote to replace my hot water heater. He graciously provided that. I have since had them back to do the work that he quoted and again the service was nothing but top notch! I plan on continuing to use Farrell Brothers!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. It needed more work than this so I decided to have it replaced so they came back the next day and replaced the pump. They were excellent. but did charge an additional fee for the new pump and installation. They came out the first time two days after I purchased the coupon. I was very pleased with their work. They were professional, fast, called before they showed up and showed up when they said they would. They also were very responsive and I would not hesitate to use them again.

This experience was fraught with confusion. When the service person was on their way here, they told me that I needed the coupon for the service charge of $49, not the $99! He spoke with his boss and said what he could do was apply $50 to the bill. Well, he didn't. We paid $107 to have a thermocoupler replaced (he used the one we provided and then left one) which is $30 more than we pay our regular furnace company! Angie's list comment section leads one to believe that you actually get work done for the $49. This was a most frustrating, expensive venture into Angie's deals. Please refund the $99 to my card? Thank you.

It has been great every time. They were here all day and they were always here on time. When they come in, they tell us what they are gonna do. They give us an estimate. They are very diligent, clean and fast. They never work longer than they say they are going to be here. They test everything and make sure that it is working. And they give us a phone number to call in case things go wrong. We have always had great service with them. I have told a lot of my co-workers and friends about them. They have called them and experienced the same thing that I have experienced.

It was great. We have used Farrell Brothers Inc for a lot of things and we really like them. They were a little expensive but we didn't have anything go wrong. I didn't spend above the Bid Deal price. They are the only provider that we will use at this point.

It has been great every time. We have spent a lot of money with them, but it has been worth it. They are very diligent, clean and prompt.

Our furnace stopped working, unfortunately durning a very cold period. We purchased the inspection service on 12/30. A representative contacted us within a few hours and inspected our furnace the next day...New Years Eve. After discussing whether ordering new parts would be cost effective for our 17 year old furnace we opted to replace it with a much more energy efficient one which was priced very competitively (we comparison shopped online). The workers replaced damaged sections of the ductwork and installed the new furnace which was smaller than the original. The new furnace was installed on 1/2/14. We were very satisfied with the work, the product and the promptness.

I thought the price was high but they were quick and responsive. The man who came to fix the drain was knowledgeable and proficient. I have no other complaints.

Plumber arrived as scheduled. Assessed sump area and explained in detail type pump he would install. Sump pump is of excellent quality and should be very durable. Plumber installed pump and sump area was filled with water to ensure it worked. Pump triggered and removed water.

I contacted the company and they were very friendly and cooperative. They instructed me on exactly which service I need to purchase for what I need done. They were willing to schedule the service as soon as I purchase the new coupon code.

Some items around the house needed some attention. The technician arrived in the time he said he would and was very informative and professional. Inspected the sewer line and found some buildup, he recommended a jet and snaking of the line to be done at a followup time. The position of the washer and water softener were switched and new lines and shutoff valves installed, also recommended that main water line shutoff also should be replaced. Finally the front and back outside faucets were replaced. All work was done neatly and with a minimum of mess.

After the initial visit to inspect the house I received a quotation via email immediately. I love that kind of follow-up, it speaks volumes to me about how much a Vendor is interested in my business. The price was fair, but a bit high for my budget. When I asked if they offered any kind of extended payment plan, again the answer was received immediately. They offer a Bank approved financing & also their in-house plan, which is 50% down & six monthly interest-free payments. I liked the latter plan & it was something I could afford. The workmen came very soon afterwards & were very polite. Even though they warned me cleanup was not included in the price, there was no mess left from the work. They did not put back the articles they moved, but that was fine. I needed to reorganize anyway. What I really objected to, and must tell the owner about, is that my garage smelled of cigarette smoke and there were cigarette butts thrown in my garage pail. Needless to say some smoking went on in my garage and the garbage pails, which I keep very clean, also smelled terribly. DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT AT ALL! And there was some garbage from their lunch left on the floor..so while I would have accepted them not cleaning up any mess that that had occurred from the work, I DO NOT appreciate having to pick up their leftover wrappers, cups & plastic bottles. That's behavior that can be modified, so I still consider this to be a top-notch company and would not hesitate to use them again (probably will be doing so when my ancient central air conditioner stops working.

I called Farrell Bros. and the answering service took my information. The on call serviceman returned the call within a half hour. He showed up a half hour later, and in another half hour, my boiler was up and providing heat again. The charge of 199 on top of the 150 after hours charge took me a bit by surprise, but I suppose that's the cost of getting my heat back on at night. The serviceman was courteous and professional. I would call Farrell Bros. again, but hope it will not be a night time emergency call.

They ended up fixing an emergency valve which lead them to determine the circulator pump was not working. They replaced that and bled all the radiators. They insured the boiler was at the correct pressure and everything was working properly. I was very happy with their service and would hire them again. With the very cold winter we had, the heating system worked great.

The plumber noted that the pipes were frozen due to inadequate insulation and recommended we have our builder fix the problem since our home was new and still under warranty. We have also received a quote for a home humidifier that we hope to install in the future. They were very professional and courteous. Definitely recommend.

The furnace is still running - however, after the service call and further investigation we discovered that a pipe on the outside wall had frozen and got someone else to fix the problem

This was the highest estimate I received. I did not hire them.
