replacement windows
+ -1 moreThe windows (10) and installation were fine. The issue is the constant and repetitive phone calls in an effort to sell me more product, windows, doors, siding etc. If I have a problem with the windows in the future I will be giving them a call (and perhaps another review depending on service) but I will not put another homeowner through the harassment of their high pressure sales tactics. I write this after the third call today, fourth in the week and second after again requesting that they stop calling me...this month. I have received a number of phone calls every month since the windows were installed, most I ignore or don't answer, but I have had enough, and it is now time for this review.
Description of Work: I had 10 windows, 3 different sizes installed on second floor during March 2012.

+ -1 moreReceived high pressure sales tactics (phone and visit) to buy more services. Waited three times when installer did not show up asw scheduled. Finally got window installed on the fourth scheduled installation date (three weeks later). Installer dis excellent work and fully cleaned up his work area. I am satisfied with the final product.
Description of Work: Removed old Garden Window and Installed Triple Pain Energy Star Rated Garden Window Replacement.

+ -1 moreBarrier gave us a very difficult time canceling the contract. They insisted it could only be done in person. After they did not show to our first cancellation "appointment" - we told them that they can pick up the signed form in our mailbox. They never came.
Description of Work: After calling for an estimate we were told the presentation would take 60 - 90 min. to explain their product. The salesperson that came was very professional - he new his stuff. However, he took nearly 3 hours to present their product and convince us that spending $5,500 on just 6 windows was a great investment. We had 3 days to cancel the contract. Making good use of our time - we searched out many other companies, and searched Angie's List of course. We chose to cancel the inflated contract.

+ -1 moreOn the entry door, they put a J channel around the door but it was only a short section. On the J channel, he had one long piece and one short piece. I made him take it back off & install a full length piece on the door. The new piece went the full length of the door. Also, when they originally assembled the door, the installer didn't put in shims and later the front door slipped & came out of adjustment. We could shut the door but we couldn't lock it. They sent someone out to repair it but then a week later, I had to call them, to come back out to fix it again. I told them when they originally put the door in, the installer didn't install shims in it. They came back out put in the shims in & we haven't had problems with the door since. We would not use them again.
Description of Work: They installed 2 windows & an entry door. Their prices were high & the interest rate was 18.99%. A younger & older repair person came out to do the window work. After doing the job, I noticed that one of the window screen's was ripped. I asked them to repair the screen before they left. The older repairman stated they would have someone (from the company) come back out to repair the screen at a another time, but the younger repair person was able to go and get the materials needed and they repaired the screen before they left.
