I made the arrangements through Samsung customer service. They said it would be 24 hours before the appliance man would contact me. They also left the phone which I called to get his opinion about repairing versus replacing. I did not hear from him for 72 hours. By then I had purchased a refrigerator to be installed that day. Could I have saved some money by having it repaired? Maybe but we will never know since I couldn't wait that long without a refrigerator. Could have been Samsung taking their time with notifying him but he never returned my calls. I would not use him again.

I called Frigidaire to file a warranty claim on my gas range. They originally referred me to another repair location (that was closer to me) but they were unresponsive. I called Frigidaire again and asked for a new repair service. The Appliance Man was called and I was able to immediately schedule an appointment. The office person gave me a confirmation call to verify the appointment after I hung up with Frigidaire. The repairman was professional and took the time to explain what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. It was a great experience.
Description of Work: Fulfilled a warranty repair for my Frigidaire gas range

It was certainly not the Appliance Man's fault, but my new Frigidaire washer was poorly designed and needed a replacement part. It took them 3 visits to get the right part, but ultimately it was done to my satisfaction. The technician was knowledgeable and very professional.

I called them to repair my washing machine that was not operating properly. When I moved the cycle selector to the start of a cycle and pulled the knob out to start operation of the machine, the machine immediately began to work as if it were already in mid cycle. The agitator immediately started and continued to operate with no water entering the basin. When I first called they were able to send someone within 3 days. After an in depth conversation with her service manager, it was deemed that a faulty wiring harness was to blame. The part needed to be ordered and was explained that would take 8-10 days. The part came in on the 9th day and my appointment was scheduled 2 days later. The repair person also indicated that a door switch also needed to be replaced. All that was replaced, and the machine continued to operate faultily. I called back to complain and the customer service representative stated that the next available appointment wasn't for another week. When I complained about that, she comes back and tells me that the service manager will come in 2 days to reassess the problem. He shows up and proceeds to diagnose that it's a faulty timer. He then tells me that it will take 2 days to get the part from another location, and that he himself will come back as soon as the part arrives and fix it. When I get the call that the part is in 3 days later, the customer service representative again tells me the next available appointment is the following week. No call from the service manager. Yet a third repair person showed up today, installed the timer, and the machine's timing is fixed, but the automatic water level is not working. When I pointed this out to the repair person, he stated that the automatic water level is based on weight in the basin. But as he told me that, he turned on the machine to test it, the basin filled to the top with water. He said that it'll be different when there's clothes in there. I put a small load in, turned on the machine, and it filled to the top again. I initiated this service call on Feb. 6th. Here it is March 13th. 5 weeks to perform this service and the machine still isn't operating properly. I am a customer service professional with 23 years experience in the field. There was no urgency whatsoever by ANYONE to resolve my issue and no concern that their service did not fix the problem. 3/17 - Went to use my washer today for the 2nd time after they were here last and the machine has returned to its' previous state of not functioning properly. I pull the knob out on the start cycle and again the machine operates as if its in mid cycle. This occurs on every setting. This job has been performed very inadequately and has been left incomplete.

It went well -- the Bosch repair was clearly the more complicated and involved and I was grateful I hadn't needed to try and fix it myself. The repairman was on-time, courteous, and very efficient -- every bit of that hour was used to disconnect the dishwasher, pull it out, get it into position (on its side), get the area properly illuminated and the dropcloths and tools laid out, fixing the problem, and then doing everything in reverse, The JennAir repair was pretty simple but for the life of me, I hadn't found an answer to the problem after an hour of browsing on the Internet -- sometimes it's worth it to get an expert in to do it.
Description of Work: Serviceman was there to do a warranty repair on a Bosch dishwasher and a repair on a Jenn-Air stovetop. Bosch dishwasher repair was delayed only by waiting for the part -- no fault of the repairman, and I was very thankful he made sure I got him the correct and exact serial numbers to make sure he only needed to make one trip. Repair was done in about an hour, he found the problem (improper installation by the original installer), and it was no charge. The JennAir repair was a separate non-warranty repair, he found the problem in about 30 seconds (improper placement of gas discharge caps on the stovetop -- previous owner had slammed them into place and bent them but he pulled them off and put them back on without incident.

his name was Frank Cocca & slammed the phone down. I called back, she put me on hold, never came back. Called from a different number, she picked up, I asked her her name, she was shocked it was me, I believe she mumbled, JoAnna. Had my husband call, they told him the same thing, "gone for the weekend". Cocca's does not care about their customers, long time or new, their repair people are not knowledgeable & the customer is no longer in the right. I will NEVER buy from them again, & do not understand why this part could not be expedited? Now this is August 7th & no word yet on anything? My next step is the N.Y. State Attorney General's office & the Whirlpool people, wondering if they are aware of how people are being treated that buy their products! Final outcome, no repairs ever made, asked the repairman to leave,! He tried to explain to me that after close to 7 weeks of being w/o a washer that the 10 yr. warranted part from Cocca's was not really under the warranty. He had to collect another $292.13 on top of the initial $107.95, "Let me see if I can explain this", was his response. Needless to say, they have lost a long time customer, our new washer is from Home Depot, & not a Cabrio Whirlpool. Thanks to the NYS Attorney General's Office, I have received a check from Cocca's totaling my diagnostic visit for $107.95 yesterday, 11/16/2012.
Description of Work: Our Cabrio Whirlpool washer was purchased on 8/2/07 from Cocca's Appliance's on Railroad Ave. in Albany. We had previously purchased our double oven, our dryer, GE cooktop & dishwasher from them over the years. Never had the problem with this Co. or Cocca's Appliances that I'm experiencing now, with the appliance, with their repair service, their rudeness & attitude throughout the entire store from salespeople to the company owned repair service, aka, The Appliance Man'. It all started in early July when my washer computer gave me a computer code to call that stated "call for service". Called Cocca's, weren't able to send their appliance service people till the 21st., this was July 6th. They arrived on the 21st, the repair man seemed very knowledgeable, agreed it was the motor as we had thought, realized we had a 10 year warranty from whirlpool on major components. Great, had to pay Cocca's the 107.95 for the service call, which was fine. On August 2nd, over came a different repair man with the long awaited part....the previous service man, (whom I thought was very knowledgeable), ordered the wrong part. Now I'm into 15 days plus two before I called without a washing machine. This second 'repairman', wasn't even sure how to get to the motor to begin with. I overheard him on his phone talking to the store, this is a quote, "I have to take the cover off first right?, are you listening to me?" Oh boy, I knew right then & there I had a problem, but when he finally showed me the part that he had with him & how it wouldn't fit, & asked me who was here last, (you people were), was my response, I blew up. Asked him to please expedite the correct part, this has gone on too long. His response was that when he got back to the store he would ask his service manager, he orders the parts. After he left I called Cocca's Appliance's, the service people were gone for the day. Talked to a salesman named Steve, relayed the story to him, was so upset that I told him I need a machine & want a new one. His answer to that was, "come on over to the store & buy one" End Quote. Now I'm furious. He then told me, to call their service department tomorrow, The Appliance Man, & the name of the manager who orders parts was also named Steve. Called the next day, spoke to a female that answered the phone, demanded the service manager call me back, she said he was out to lunch. 3 hours passed, called again, she was very rude, & snotty & told me had had gone home for the weekend. I couldn't not believe what I was hearing, I demanded 'Steve's' name, the service manager, she told me

Our 5 year old oven stopped working. I called the Appliance Man because they always set up my appliances we buy from Cocca's. And the service people are very nice there, from my past experiences. However, this time I am SO DISAPPOINTED. I called them in August 2011 and they came to diagnose the problem. The first guy charged me $109 for the first visit to diagnose. He said it was the computer panel and clock in my stove. That was why the oven wouldn't work? But the stove top was fine... wierd. So, ok, I'll take it. He sent someone in a week to fix the "Computer" problem. Then this new guy said that that was the wrong diagnosis. It's not the computer, it was the element in my oven. He said we'd hear back from them later that week to schedule the appt with the correct part. It is now late November 2011!! I HAD TO CALL THEM THIS WEEK TO ASK WHAT IS TAKING THEM SO LONG TO CALL ME. I really kept waiting and waiting, and then things got busy in my life, but when I called this week, no one could give me a straight answer. They said they would call me back. No one did. I had to call again. Then they told me it was on backorder. For two months?? I don't think they ever ordered the part. I really want my $109 back, and I will never use them again. NOR will I ever buy from Cocca's again because they only use the Appliance Man to hook up the new stuff. And turns out, last month, our dryer we bought a year ago from Cocca's wasn't hooked up correctly. The machine started smoking. My husband pulled it out and the Appliance Man never even sealed/secured the vent from machine to the outside. Horrible!! My husband was able to fix it though after vacuuming up all the lint that almost started a fire.

Part was on backorder. Due to the length of the backorder it fell through the cracks and we failed to follow up with the customer. We made a mistake. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have the part to fix it and we will not charge her for the part. Or if she doesn’t want it fixed we will gladly refund in full our diagnostic fee of $107.95.

Appliance Man was one of four providers given to me by the company for the authorized repair and they were the most responsive to my time requirements. The repair person called the day before to confirm the time and again about 10 minutes before arrival which was the earliest of the time range. He was efficient and the job was done to my satisfaction.

I purchased 9 appliances from Coccas' about 16-18 months ago with a 10 warranty. My washing machine broke on July 4th and I put in a service call on July 5th 2010. They said they cold send someone for 9 days and scheduled me for July 14th. The service man arrived with out any parts for this machine and said they would need to order the part and could not return for another six days. When I called the Appliance Man I offered to pay to have the part shipped overnight come to find out the part is in stock but they will not be able to return until the following week because "You do know you live an hour away" of course I know I live an hour away but when I made my $10,000 purchase Coccas did not tell me that I would have to wait 4-5 longer than the average client for service. I just so frustrated that I am hand washing for a family of four just because they do not want to make "the trip". I have made numerous phone calls to both the Appliance man and Coccas and had to deal with "well it's just too bad" attitude for each employee is just unacceptable. I will never spend another dime with Cocca's .
Description of Work: The Appliance Man is a company that Coccas uses for warranty repair on the large appliances. Do not buy from Cocca's if you do not live very close by. I am now 12 days with out a washing machine and I have at least another 6 to go before they will make another service call. Employees from the phone operators, to service, to sales management all have that" its just too bad" kind of attitude. I will never buy another thing from Cocca's, it's just too bad that I spent all this money and bought every major appliance from them last year and will have to use their service department for the next 8 years

I called on Monday & was scheduled for Friday AM. They called the day before to confirm & give the time window. The repairman called within 30 minutes of the earliest time frame to say he was on his way. The repairman was pleasant, courteous, & got his diagnostic done quickly. He also explained what the problem was & how the switch worked, which I appreciate. He had the part on his truck, and was in & out in about a half-hour. A good experience, and I would use them again. Just wish I could have gotten it done sooner.
Description of Work: The repairman replaced a broken lid switch in the washing machine. It's incredible that a small plastic tension switch could cost $55; online, it's less than $30. Who knows -- maybe they factor in installation time.

My oven wouldn't turn on -- days before Thanksgiving. I found The Appliance Man through Angie's List. They made an appointment within 48 hours. The repairman arrived at the very beginning of the time window they gave me. He assessed the problem, quickly diagnosed the cause as a broken oven igniter, had the right part in his truck, and replaced it -- all in less than an hour.

Very well, see above. We were very satisfied and would use this company again.
Description of Work: We had water sitting on the top shelves of our refrigerator. It turned out to be that the area in the freezer around the tube that carries the excess moisture out when the freezer defrosts was leaking. They resealed it and the problem was solved. However, after they left there was a rattling when the refrigerator was running. They quickly returned, found and corrected the problem for no additional charge.

The Appliance Man offers good service at reasonable prices and I rely upon him for all the repairs I need to have done on my major appliances. He diagnosed why the dishwasher wasn't working immediately and had a sensor handy to replace it. I recommend their service to others. This was a $200 job, but fortunately it was covered under warranty, so I only had to pay for the service call.
