It went extremely well. I can't say enough good things about Anthony Littlejohn. He was always courteous, very responsive and proactive in communicating. He was flexible and very helpful. The work in my new home was very neat and looked great. He showed intelligence and initiative. In particular, when he removed the carpet in a room where we were putting our piano, he discovered a hump across the whole floor. He immediately called me. I went over and we discussed options and settled on a tentative plan to plane that joist and shim others. He proceeded to remove the subfloor and called me again. He said I'd better come over right away. He had discovered a structural problem the home inspector (RSP Home Inspections) missed although it would have been visible from the basement. This problem would definitely have led to the piano and floor collapsing onto electric cables, gas lines and the water heater. The probable consequences would have been catastrophic. I credit Anthony with a major save. Two thousand dollars of carpentry from another provider and Anthony was able to put down the oak floor in that room. It looks terrific.

As seen in the pictures below, they did not hold up, just a year later. I called Anthony to ask him to fix the spots. He did not pick up until I blocked my number. I asked him to come and fix the spots and would have paid for these services. Anthony said that HE DID NOT LIKE THE REVIEW I had previously written (see July 13, 2015), and actually pulled it up on his computer and read it to me! It was a four star review, but Anthony said HE DID NOT LIKE WHAT I WROTE AND WOULD NOT SERVICE MY FLOOR. He said because I wrote a poor review I was a liability. He did not answer any subsequent phone calls. At this point, I am really stuck. To have another person come in is very expensive. They would have to redo the entire floor as they do not know the product Anthony used and it is not their work. I cannot afford to redo the floors for over $2000 (I paid Anthony in full on the day the work was completed $2400). Anthony had assured me he always follows up with his work. To not return to even look at the floor because he did not like the review was beyond unprofessional. It is also extremely unfair to me. I was a good, full paying customer who trusted his integrity. The floor stained because the finish was poor and Anthony did not back his work. If you do hire him, better write a great review!!

The floors are beautiful and we've received numerous compliments. People can't tell the new wood from the original wood. It took a few days for Acme to respond to my initial voicemail message, but once we connected, they were very punctual and efficient, coming on the days and times they promised and working steadily. They placed sample coats of various stains on the wood to help us select our stain color. The guys were very polite and considerate of our property. The water-based products dried quickly and with almost no odor, so that multiple coats could be applied in one day. Acme was not the lowest bid we received, but we chose them because of their professionalism and knowledge. We were not disappointed.

I talked with different top rated contractors for refinishing our hardwood floors (2000ft2). The job included sanding the floors and refinishing them. The price range was pretty much similar with all contractors. However, Anthony was much more professional and knowledgeable about it. He pointed out things during quoting that others didn’t mention at all. Therefore, we decided to go with Acme Floors. Anthony and his crew did a great job on finishing the hardwood floors of the whole house. They were very professional and punctual, and they finished the work ahead of schedule. I should also mention that it is a family business and they are doing the work. We were very satisfied with the end product. They did a top notch job. Our house gained a whole new look with them. I would definitely recommend them.

Went very well. Came when expected, very professional. Looks perfect. Nice people to deal with. Considerate of our needs and schedule.

Anthony called me back the same day. He quoted me a price based on square feet and worked with my schedule to set a date. He called and stopped over a few days before the scheduled start date. He explained the finishes and gave me a timetable. They arrIved on time to start the job. They were very friendly and neat. They kept me updated with progress reports and the floors looked amazing when they were done. I would gladly hire them again and would recommend them to my family and friends.

He was very professional and has been in the business a long time. I would recommend him even though he hasn't done the work yet. I plan to hire him if we buy the house.

Anthony and his brother Pasquale are true professionals and craftsmen. From quote to final cleanup and walk through they were a pleasure to work with and to have in our home. We had three companies quote the work. We chose Acme for three reasons: 1. knowledge and understanding of our floors and the issues we wanted addressed, 2. emphasis on dust reduction, 3. choice of oil based or non-oil based finish. They were punctual and easy to talk with. At the end of each day we would review the work and they would adjust the next days work to address any issue we had. You may find someone less expensive but you will not find a more professional and talented company.

These guys are amazing! The know wood, love wood, and really care about the final outcome. They were prompt ,professional, and really conscientious about their work. Their pricing was extremely fair. They were funny and pleasant to interact with, and we hope to put in more wood floors so that we can hire them again! Next time we will have them install too!

A meeting was held within a day or two of the first contact. Anthony was on time for the meeting, and answered all my questions and I his. He measured the room, checked the vents, and asked about the doorway entries into other rooms and how I wanted the transitions to be. He then handed me a detailed estimate outlining all of the steps, how long each would take, what the additional cost be if they had to remove the subfloor and put down a new one. He also handed me proof of insurance. Everything was completed within 4 days, there was no issue with the sub floor, there was no mess, and all demolition materials were taken away. The floor is beautiful.

Consistent with the other reviews of Acme on this site, Anthony and Pasquale were professional, timely, and hard-working from the first contact and estimate to the conclusion of the project. Our house is a 3000 s/f colonial, built in 1991. The house had hardwoods throughout except for the great room and guest bedroom, where there was old 1991 carpet. Anthony and Pasquale removed the old carpets, installed and finished the oak floors, and installed quarter-round base molding to match other rooms. In the great room, they wove the new floors seamlessly into the existing hardwood floors from the kitchen, to create a continuous flow (this was extra money in labor, but very well worth it). At the end of each work day, and at the projects end, the house was clean and dust-free. Perhaps most importantly for me, it was clear from speaking with them and seeing their work, that they take great pride in their craft and do quality work.

Anthony was very pleasant and extremely professional. The floor in the living room/kitchen was the engineered type and only a very small layer could be removed by sanding. Anthony accomplished this in an expert manner. The final result from the sanding and refinishing was excellent. Anthony was ably assisted in many phases of the work by his brother Pasquale.

Very nice, courteous, professional company. Left the place spotless. I would highly recommend this company. Floors look wonderful!

Not living locally, we picked ACME strictly on the basis of their Angies List reviews. We are totally satisfied with the results and agree with his reviews. Anthony responded quickly and was very professional. It was obvious he knows his trade and I really felt he understood our concerns. He was very knowledgeable about "old" wood and the various types of wood flooring in our home. He gave us several options and resulting outcomes, and his price quotes were especially detailed. After sanding off several costs of lacquer, the floors actually look like new ... much better than I ever thought they could look. This was the only surprise . Everything went as planned and quoted. Anthony's crew was on time, every day, very personable, and they cleaned up after they were done. The whole project was "dust free" which was an added plus. I would definitely use Anthony again if I was local.

Here is the really good part about Acme floors: They came on time each day, it is a family owned business, he worked with green materials so it didn't smell and I didn't have to breathe in toxins. Overall, the floors are beautiful. I had had the traditional yellow, oil based, and Anthony used water based and it is a much lighter color, as I had requested. They worked very clean and there was no dust. I really am very happy with the overall look and quality. My concern is that if I didn't see or point out a problem with the wood, it was not addressed. Since the floors are lighter now, and they are older floors, the nails in the threshold of one the bedrooms showed and were very numerous. I would have absolutely asked to have the boards replaced. At $20 a board, it would only have been about $40-$60. Unfortunately, I did not notice it until the final day. I had been trying to stay off the floors until they were finished. Anthony said I should have inspected the floors more closely and it was my responsibility to check. I felt they should have brought it to my attention, as it was in the middle of the doorway, but Anthony pointed to other flaws in the wood along the edges. Anthony was upset with me when I pointed this out, and the exchange was uncomfortable. They were also supposed to include a threshold in another room that was overlooked. Overall, my floors are so pretty and they did come and do the job in a professional manner, giving me a product that is very nice. I love the water-based finish. If I used them again, I would check very carefully and keep a better watch to details.

All I can say is Anthony and his team, Pasquale and Austin did an unbelievably outstanding job repairing and refinishing the floors in these two connected rooms. This was a difficult job because the floor needed to be repaired in several places where there used to be walls in this 100 year old home. Also the old finish was very difficult to remove but Anthony's team remained undaunted and finished the job to perfection. There were no details ignored and it was clear that each person working on different aspects of the floor was completely focused and dedicated towards providing an excellent outcome. In other words, these guys really know what they are doing. Anthony worked well with the customer addressing all concerns and answering every question. He was fair and very accommodating concerning the cost of the job. I feel I really got my money's worth. I believe the floors will last for at least another 100 years.

Our experience with Anthony and Pasquale was top notch, first rate. They arrived to begin the job right on schedule and finished within the specified time frame. There work was ":dust free" which was important since we had just had the entire house painted. The floors look fabulous. All equipment and trash was removed upon job completion. You would never know that Anthony and Pasquale were in the house- except for the beautiful floors. They worked with one additional helper. Anthony and/ or Pasquale were personally on the job working each day. We couldn't be happier with the entire experience from initial contact with Acme Floors through Angie's List, to obtaining an estimate, and actual work completion. We would most definitely recommend Acme Floors to anyone wanting to have this type of work performed. The cost was very fair.

..Very satisfied with the Acme team. They were punctual,polite and friendly. Both Anthony and Pasquale were patient with my questions. They were careful to minimize the mess and cleaned up when they finished. They seemed to know their roles and worked hard until completion . I feel we received a good bang for our bucks.

Old oak floors with water damage in spots and deep gouges , my floors were terrible but acme took care of it they went over different options and were efficient in their work , my only point was the splatter on all of my molding in my rooms , they offered to repaint or offer compensation - they took $100 off - the bill. The floors came out great . They won my business over 4 other companies .

We were very pleased with Mr Littlejohn and all of the ACME Wood Floor workers who installed our new floors. They did a great job. They were pleasant, respectful of our home, they worked efficiently, they came when scheduled and completed the project on time and within the initial cost estimates. I would highly recommend this company.

Amazing!!! Very hard working, professional installers. Very easy to work with. They worked very hard to level a floor that had many dips and sags. This is a very messy job but they did their best to clean up and organize every thing each day before they left so as to have as little disruption as possible to normal routine. I was very pleased with how it turned out and would highly recommend them.

Acme Wood Floor,LLC. staff have recently completed the installation of over 1500 square feet of Maple hardwood floor and 1500 square feet of plywood as an underlayment in our house. We are very pleased with the final outcome . They quoted me $3400. The conversations I had with them and their price made me choose them. The guy did good job and was thorough. He came down a couple of hundred dollar for me. He was the first one to call back.

Everyone involved was professional, courteous and mindful that they were in someone else's home. They even turned down our thermostat while the windows were open. We are very pleased that they worked around our schedule, so we didn't have to stay in a hotel while they worked. Would definitely call them again for another project.
