Description of Work: Initially had a lengthy discussion of the types of woods and educated my husband and me about the various grades of wood, installation, care, what wood work best, etc. we chose Brazilian cherry which was installed in the kitchen, dining and living room. Superb staff, cleaned up and even wiped the floor down. Even fixed our fridge wheels. Went beyond and exceeded our expectations. Professional, personable and hard workers. Would rehire or definitely highly recommended. I did me research, Mark did not disappointment!

Description of Work: This is our second experience using Filipski Hardwood. The first time they refinished our dining room floor and added new hardwood in our living room. They were able to match the floors even though the dining room floor had been installed at least eight years prior. They did a beautiful job and we were thrilled. This time, we had them refinish a brazilian cherry hardwood floor in our sunroom. It was severely discolored from sun damage. They sanded, stained and coated the floor. Again, they were able to provide a very close match to our kitchen floor that we did not have refinished.

Description of Work: Because the room we wanted to have refinished was quite small, Mark was able to come out to begin work within a week of calling. His partner sanded and applied the polyurethane the first day; did a great job. He was punctual and very friendly. Both Mark and his partner came the second day for the second coat and just Mark the third day; the floor is absolutely beautiful- so glad I had it done.They obviously know their craft very well. I would hire them again in a second.

Description of Work: Our experience with Mark Filipski was very unsatisfactory. We met and discussed cleaning our hardwood floors first to remove paint splatters, etc. and then giving the entire area a fresh coat of polyurethane. Because of water damage to one room, we decided to have it refinished. This part of the job was done satisfactorily. I expected that the other floors wouldn't be perfect since we were not totally refinishing, but his partner simply covered the floors with polyurethane---paint splatters and all. In the process, polyurethane was slopped on our new kitchen tile. When I called this to Mark's attention, some of it was removed, but have spotted 2 other places that poly was spilled and it is now impossible to remove since it has hardened/cured. To make matters worse, the partner scratched the freshly painted walls which had to be repainted and knicked up the brand new tile in an adjoining bath. I called this damage to Mark's attention but he didn't respond until one week after I sent pics on email to him. He never addressed these issues with offer to come and see the damage or take any responsibility for his partner's carelessness. As further example of his lack of professionalism, they did not follow the rules of our condo building by signing in and out when on the premises. Bottom line is our floors now have poly layer over all kinds of paint splatters, and we had to pay for repair of tile and repainting of walls. By the way, I interviewed 5 hardwood contractors before deciding to go with Filipski. He talks a good talk, saying he works the jobs himself, but I seriously doubt he ever came to the site. And, I found him on Angie's List which I always found reliable until this disastrous experience.
