Desert Rose Repair, owned and operated by Lyle and his wife Carla, is one of (if not the only) fully Licensed, Insured and Certified Professional Handyman in Northeastern Nevada. We pride ourselves in delivering 1st Rate services at cost effective prices. As of July 2011 our rates are $60/hr for both Lyle and Carla, with a 1 hour minimum. Travel is $30/hr with the clock starting when we leave Elko City Limits. We offer out lying areas the ability to reduce or waive travel costs if they get friends together and are able to fill 1+ days in their area. Spring Creek, Elko, Lamoile, Adobe Heights and Carlin have no travel costs. Free Estimates are offered for one or multiple projects. We do not give verbal estimates. We like to take time and write up an estimate that includes all materials and labor times that take everything into account, including issues that may arise during the job. We bid extra time to compensate for unforseen issues. Due to the extra time we dedicate to our estimates though we are able to garentee that we will Never go more than 10% above our estimate. Typically our jobs take less time and fewer materials causing our estimates to come in below the estimated price and time. Giving you a good suprise at the end. Free Consultations are provided to let clients know if we can take care of their project (Whether we have the needed skills and the proper licensing). If we are not capable we inform the client of other businesses that can help them. We keep business cards for competitor handymen who are licensed that have differing skills then our own, as well as various lisensed contractors who we think will be willing and able to help the client.

Mailbox repairs FAQs

Brick mailbox repairs cost about $625 on average, ranging from about $500 to $750, depending on the extent of damage, type of brick and mortar, time of year, location, and experience level of the mason doing repairs. Hire a masonry contractor to inspect the brick mailbox’s damage and recommend a repair plan. They can also provide a price estimate that’s specific to your type and size of mailbox.

Yes, it’s usually possible to repair damaged brick mailboxes. If the masonry is damaged, the brick can be cut out and replaced, or the mortar joints can be cut out and retucked. However, the new mortar will likely be different in color from the original mortar joints. In most cases, if the mailbox itself is damaged, it’s possible to cut it out and replace it. Consult a masonry contractor to determine whether it’s worth repairing your brick mailbox based on its value and amount of damage.

Typically, a brick mason will repair a brick mailbox. They can provide an estimate for repairs, which may include sourcing replacement brick, mortar, and other materials. If your brick mailbox has been completely destroyed, you should check with your local building code enforcement office to confirm that a brick mailbox is allowed in your location as some areas do not allow brick mailboxes because of the potential hazard for drivers who may hit them.

Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their own mailboxes. Otherwise, a property manager is responsible for repairs and maintenance if the Post Office does not maintain it. If you own your home, you are responsible for maintaining the mailbox at the specified height, distance from the road, and functionality.

Mailbox repair can cost anywhere from $100 to $300, depending on the type of mailbox, materials involved, and labor cost. The estimated cost of repairs also depends on whether you need to replace the mailbox post, the post’s construction, and type of mailbox. If you have multiple mailboxes, the cost will increase compared to a single mailbox.
