 + 0 moreI went to the office on Glendale to see if they could send someone out to help me with my chain link gate. I knew the gate hinges were tweaked but had no way to fix it. The gentleman said he wasn't sure what time next week an estimator could come out but then found an appointment the next day for me. The appointment was for 3 but Aaron was there at 2:30. We looked at the hinges and agreed they were the problem. He didn't think it was a big deal and then he asked me to get a hammer while he got a wrench. In less than ten minutes, he had tweaked the hinges back and the gate worked perfectly! He suggested I go to their yard and get a bigger drop rod receiver (the pipe in the ground that holds the gate latch in place), which I did. A giant weight was off my back--as it was, I couldn't open the gate and had to drive around to my second gate to get in and out of my yard. Aaron was professional, did not try to sell me something I didn't need or tell me the problem was worse than it was. I am older and had no one to help me with what turned out to be a minor issue. When a bigger issue comes up, I will be calling Tholl again. Great doing business with them.

 + 0 moreWow! They came out 2 days after I called to do a estimate for a dog run fence on side of our house. I had 2 other companies come out and give bids, one was much higher and the other was a bit lower but took a whole week to get them out and he showed up late. We went with a metal bar fence and gates (5 ft high), Tholl was busy, so we had to wait about 4 weeks but they came when they said they would and finished the job in 2 days! This was with snow on the ground!!! Looks great and is sturdy, our 2 huskies love their space (25ft wide x 60ft long)!

 + -1 moreGreat company! The provider called in advance to confirm appointment for estimate and arrived on time. He did a check of entire fence to be sure no additional work would be needed now. Estimate arrived via email on time as he said it would. Less than two weeks later, the installer called to make appointment for installation. He also arrived on time and if there were any clean up that needed to be done, he did it. I say "if there were any clean up" because other than having a straightened fence section and steel post, it was impossible to tell they had arrived - that is how good the clean up was. He even avoided trampling my flowers, which I fully expected as they were right next to repair area. The only thing that made me give Tholl a B for quality instead of a A was during the estimate and on the phone will the installer, we agreed the post would go on the neighbor's side of the fence. I came home to find it on my side. Oh well. I would still recommend and use Tholl fence again.

Description of Work: I called Tholl Fence to schedule an estimate for repair work on our fence that had been blown down by wind. I was told by the phone operator that someone would be out to the property within the next few days to give an estimate. They said I didn't need to be home. My email address was taken down in order to send me the estimate once it had been completed. I was never contacted. Over a month later, I received a phone call from one of the phone operators to ask if I would still like to have an estimate completed. By that time, the work had been completed by another company. This behavior may have been a one-off from this company, but I am unlikely to try to contract their services again.

 + -1 moreThey came promptly, and left the work area spotless. All work was done as promised and they did an excellent job. They were the least expensive bid. It took a little longer than expected to get on their schedule, but I would hire them again in a heart beat. They did a great job.

 + -1 moreMy fence had went down in December. I didn't put in a claim until January and it took me awhile to decide whether I wanted to pay for it or put in the claim with my insurance. Finally in late January I had Tholl Fencing come over and do a free estimate for my insurance and sent it to my insurance and it was accepted. I then called Tholl Fencing and sent my signed contract over by email. I didn't have to pay half before it was done. It took awhile before I was finally put on the work load; but there was a lot of fences that went down in December because of the over 75 mile winds. Overall, I am very happy with the work done and they even removed the old fence.
Description of Work: I had Tholl fencing replace three panels of fence blown over by a wind storm. They also replaced two fence posts for my back fence that had rotted. I pushed on the fence to check its strength and I couldn't get it to move, that made me so grateful. The fence looked great and the most important fact was that I no longer have to stress everytime there is a stiff breeze. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. It tid take some time for them to finally get me on the work list; but it was worth it.

 + -1 moreFrom the first contact to the last nail driven it was a pleasant experience working with Tholl Fence. If you have a fence that needs to be built under difficult conditions, I don't think you can find a company that can do a better job.
Description of Work: I am an old man who worries about everything. If there is nothing to worry about I will invent something. I live in a very wind prone area, wind occasionally exceeds 60 mph. After deciding to replace my very old, dilapidated fence I contacted several contractors found by word of mouth and on Angie's List. Because of the problems of the area I live in. Wind, terraced yards, retaining walls, etc. (I live in the mountains), most of the contractors I contacted lacked the experience or simply wouldn't bid the job. Tholl Fence is the largest and most respected contractors in the area. I was very concerned about what the fence was going to cost. I found that the comments that Tholl is too expensive is a bad rap. Building my fence under the conditions in which it was to be build and my worrying about wind wasn't going to be cheap, but in the end it didn't cost what I was afraid it would. I currently have what everyone around me is calling a hurricane proof red wood fence. It doesn't appear that I can post pictures on Angie's List it would be nice if I could. I can't in a few sentences express how beautiful the fence is and describe the quality of the work. I am thrilled with it.

 + 0 moreWhile it took some time to get on their schedule, once we were on, the fencers arrived and were nothing short of fantastic to deal with. All on site workers were considerate and displayed a huge level of pride in their work. Did a fantastic job with the fencing itself and a great job in areas where they had to dig up concrete and reset posts. Just an absolute delight to deal with their on site personnel.
Description of Work: Built a 6 foot redwood fence around perimeter of house, built a 4 foot dog run fence inside the property, and a 5 foot ornamental wrought iron fence inside the property.
