I scheduled a tentative date and told the office lady to confirm the date with the Realtor before hand in-case the bank were to drag their feet in getting the executed contract back to us. The day of the tentative appointment came. the bank had taken their time, we didn't have the contract, and I was 800 miles away on business when I received a phone call in the middle of me meeting. It was Ronn Kornahrens from SPC. In the middle of my meeting i excused myself only to find that I missed the call and it went to voice mail. Almost immediately my phone rang again, and this time it was the office lady from SPC. She asked why I was not at the house, and I explained again that the appointment was tentative and told her that my Realtor had informed me that they had been contacted about a reschedule of the appointment and that SPC would not be able to perform the inspection on the new date. The lady told me that my Realtor was a "liar" and that they had never been contacted. Furious now with my Realtor for "lying" to me i expressed immediate apologies for the mix up and told her that I would deal with the Realtor, but for now there is nothing that can be done since we didn't have the executed contract yet. She seemed to be understanding and we hung up the phone. Here is the best part though. Ronn called me back and again I tried to explain to him the mix-up and about what happened. He however started swearing at me. He told me that we had been "s****y customers" and told me that he was "gonna get f*****g paid for this!" I rose my voice and exclaimed that I would not be treated like this and disconnected the call.I called the office lady back and told her that I had just been contacted by Ronn and that I would no longer be doing business with them ever again. Frustrated at the series of events that just transpired, I called my Realtor expecting to tare into her for bad business practices when I found out the best part of all. She told me that it was true, she didn't personally talk to the people at Sierra Pest Control, but that a representative of Armstrong Inspections had talked to SPC. I confirmed her story with the rep from Armstrong Inspections; so the icing on the cake is that SPC lied about being contacted. Personally I thought we had a good thing going with them, but they showed their true colors and then tried to lie to cover it up. Final Recommendation: Stay away from Sierra Pest Control! We have a new pest control company, so far everything has been great, the inspection went off without a hitch and I look forward to reviewing their services in the near future.
Description of Work: I originally contacted Sierra Pest Control (SPC) to deal with the normal outside pests and settled quickly into an annual contract for service around April of 2010 at $45/mo after the initial treatment of $175. Soon after moving into a new rental. The original problem was compounded quickly when we found that the house we moved into was infested with bed bugs. Many hundreds of dollars later, and with the help of SPC we conquered the pests and I remained on contract for monthly services, even through the winters to ensure that no re-occurrences of the pest problems would arrise again. Over the next year of service at $45/mo (through 2011) everything went on as usual. When pest problem did arise, they would be out within a week or two to take care of it. I thought this was a fair response time, but I have since learned that its not. This brings me to my current and most recent dealings with them. We are finally buying a home; our first as it would be, and I have found that this is the MOST stressful thing I have ever dealt with. Wanting to keep with the company that I had come to trust, I asked SPC to perform our pest inspection which was to be a fee of $150.
