I called around in early 2010 looking for an agent to help me traverse the real estate pitfalls in looking for a residential home in the Reno/Sparks area. I had seen Sandy's signs in lots of front yards, so I gave her call. She was full of information, and never pressured me to start the search, just gave me a list of things to do when I was ready. I contacted Sandy again in late 2010, and asked her to help my elderly mom find a new house. My mother was coming off a short sale/foreclosure situation, and Sandy was able to assist her through the pitfalls of purchasing another short sale property. NEVER did she pressure my mom into looking at or purchasing properties she wasnt interested in, and after 5 months, my mom found her forever home, and with Sandy's help, closed in 60 days (for a short sale, that was remarkable!). In early 2011, I started my own search for property. Once again, I contacted Sandy, and we spent many a weekend looking at houses. It got to the point that she knew exactly what I liked and disliked, and although I would point out a property I wanted to see, she NEVER said "you won't like that one", she cheerfully met me there after work, or on the weekend, and let me decide if it was ya or nay. Then I would ask her if she knew I wouldn't like it, and she would smile and nod her head. I put several offers on several properties, and she always gave me the pros and cons to the offers, made suggestions for getting me the best deal, and once even tried to get me my escrow money back on a deal I had to back out of, even though contractually I wasn't entitled to a dime. She talked me through financing options, as well as market trends, bank behaviors, agent behaviors, seller issues, FHA, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mac trends and policies, so I could make informed decisions. After a year, I was finally able to close on the home that I love, after weathering pitfall after pitfall. By the time we closed, I guarantee that Sandy had long ago been working for me for free. She NEVER complained, was always responsive, knowledgeable, and was the advocate that most people don't get to experience with their agent. Her ethics are unreproachable, both morally, and work related. Her approach was always diplomatic, but she could get firm and determined when needed. With her up-to-date all around knowledge of the real estate market in our area, and her goal of treating every client as her family, you could not find a better partner when purchasing real estate. If I could nominate her for Agent of the year, I would.
