Easy Rooter called my within minutes after I asked for recommendations from Angies List. They had someone out here a couple of hours after that and Sam fixed the leak fairly quickly. No problems.

I called to have my line snaked and they came out right away but didnt bother verifying that the drains were working. I ended up calling a second time to have them come back to do it again. They still didnt fix it and had to come back a third time. After all was said and done they tried charging me twice but the guy wrote down my card number wrong so it didnt go through. Because they messed up the card number I got a nasty letter in the mail threatening to put a lein on my house if they didnt get payment immediately. Incompetent people. Seriously unprofessional, bordering on extortion. Avoid this company at all costs.

I had Easy Rooter deal with a collapsing sewer line. Another company put down a camera and said the part under the street was fine, so we could just trench from the foundation to the street and put in new pipe. They also said "we don't have a recording of the camera work ... our equipment does not permit that." Hmmmm. I was a little suspicious. This other outfit had a good reputation but was a Class C contractor and thus would have to hire out the work to go into the street. Was this opinion trustworthy? I'm sooo grateful I asked Matt at Easy Rooter to give a second opinion, because I was either being lied to or the workers were incompetent. Easy Rooter is a Class A contractor, and can go into the street if they have to, but their "cast in place" technology does not demand it so they do not have that inherent conflict of interest. In less than a day and a half Easy Rooter gave me a thumb drive with film of the entire line: it was bad throughout but the part under the street was the worst! Huge roots; collapsing clay pipe. I've put up a picture of what the other company said was a "good line." Oh please. Matt was not even 100% sure he could avoid trenching it -- it was that bad. Matt explained the whole process in every detail. I researched it online. "Cast in place" was the solution I needed. They spun out the roots. When the pipe did collapse in one place they dug down and inserted a short length of ABS (at no additional cost!!), then they cast the whole thing from the inside with a seamless new pipe. Check out the after picture in nearly the same place as the other picture. The whole like looks exactly like that. In just two days the entire line was done -- if it were not for the collapse the whole thing would have taken 5 hours. For just a little bit above what the other guys wanted to do a messy, lengthy, and incompetent partial line replacement that would have torn up my yard and failed within months, I now have a brand new pipe from the clean out at the foundation to the main sewer line. One pipe; no seams; no possibility of root intrusion. Without them, I would have faced several thousand dollars more of in-street repairs before the year was even out. Matt even pulled a full camera film of the new line and gave me the thumb drive with it -- it looks wonderful. Look for yourself. Gang, these guys are the real deal. Fast, honest, knowledgable, competent and their technology is simply better than other options. They get 5 stars ... in my experience these folks are as good as it gets. Steve H.

I've scheduled them 3 days in a row. The first two days they didn't make it in time. The third day they were half an hour late even though I was the first client scheduled for the day. Besides this, Jesse did a good job. He checked out the problem and diagnosed right away the reason and fixed it within 20 min. He was articulate, friendly and focused on the job. I'd use Easy Rooter again if needed.

They came in tried to clear the blockage and just made the problem worst. The sewage kept backing up with the smallest amount of water. Then after they were done they said we will have some one call for an estimate to fix and replace that broken pipe...I never got a call. The worst part for them is they lost money because it would have been a big job. The best part for me is that I got a another company to come in to fix the problem and have them come in and routinely check my system for way less then it would have cost to go with easy rooter.

CAUTION: If you use these folks, write down the arrival and departure times, check the work often and don't let them leave until you see the job is completed and your lids aren't broken!! There are two parts to Easy Rooter's septic tank pumping; one person digs up the septic tank lids and the following day another person comes out and pumps the tank. It is up to you to fill the holes back in unless you also contract for that service. The young man who dug up the septic tank was an overall good guy and hard worker. He showed up on time and completed the job rapidly. However, the following day the pump operator showed up over 2 1/2 hours late. The operator didn't speak English well and it was very hard for me to understand him. He kept saying something about the tank was full so there would be an extra charge since it would take him 3 hours. He worked from 10:40 to 11:40, then left without a word. I checked the tank and he had not completed the job. He returned at 1:30 and at 2:05 knocked on the door to tell me he was done. He wrote up the order showing the normal fee to pump the tank, $425.00, then listed 3 extra hours pumping time at $130.00 per hour ($390.00 total), plus an inspection fee of $120.00. If you do the math, he was only on site a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes total. As soon as I got him out of the back yard, I called Easy Rooter to complain about the bill. The woman I spoke with tried to argue that the pump operator told her he arrived an hour BEFORE he actually did and was there over 3 hours. After I explained I has kept track of the time due to his lateness, she adjusted the bill to 1 extra hour. I still felt that I was overcharged, but accepted $675.00 charge since I knew they didn't have an A rating to begin with but I needed the job done fast for a VA loan approval. I then went out to start filling in the holes and discovered that the pump operator had broken one of the lids in half. I immediately called the company back and while they did replace the lid, I felt that the pump operator was dishonest again since he left without telling anyone what he had done. We were out of town for 10 days and called upon our return to schedule replacing the lid. The same young man who had dug up the tank returned on 6/11/15 and replaced the broken lid. He also apologized for the pump operator's behavior. I later found out the the pump operator was blaming the broken lid on the young man who dug the holes. I again called the company and told them that I was standing there when the pump operator removed the lids and neither of them were broken. This makes 3 times I know of where the pump operator was lying and now I'm not sure that he actually finished the job! I admit I feel sorry for the young man who actually did the manual labor of digging up the lids. He arrived on time, did his job correctly and was very courteous. He even used heavy plastic sheeting to place the dirt on so it wouldn't mess up the landscaping. It's a shame that his reputation has to be dragged down along with the company he works for. If I was only rating his performance, it would be straight A's!

After they left from pumping, I asked the pumper when they would be back to replace the dirt they had excavated over the septic tank. They wanted me to spend another $1,000 on my drainage system, but I had visions of them excavating my entire back yard and not replacing any dirt anywhere!! Thanks, but no thanks! Three days later, when they had not returned, to replace the dirt, I called them, only to have them tell me that I had not paid for them to replace the dirt, (that would be potentially another $85). And that most owners prefer to put the dirt back themselves. I asked if they realized I was a single senior lady, and they didn't think that was relevant. I spent the next week gradually shoveling all that dirt back over the septic tank. Within two months, my system again backed up! They told me I was out of warranty. Now, when I washed clothes, the waste water was coming out the clean out into my back yard. If I took a shower, it too came out the clean out in to the back yard (every day!!). Naturally, I tried to flush less, but it too came into the back yard. Then I was in a race to shovel that up and throw it into a trash bag, before my dog went snacking! I called Rotor Rooter. They came the next day, and cleaned it out enough in one visit that no more overflow from showering, flushing, nor washing clothes!!
Description of Work: Septic was backing up into my house (shower, toilet, etc.) They decided it wasn't my house, I needed to pump out the septic tank and repair/replace the drainage field. I agreed to the pumping out of the tank. They also "cleaned roots" from my cleanout (twice within 30 days). They opened both ends of the septic tank, did not put down any material encourage the "waste process" which I subsequently found was needed ... badly!

We informed the customer that she needed both pumping and repairing or replacing her drainage field. She only wanted to pump our her septic tank which will only temporarily fix her problem. But we did what she requested with the full knowledge of future problems. We even cleaned roots from her clean out twice in 30 days just to help her out but she wanted us to do more extra work for free (but she's still not happy) We told her again that she needed to get her drainage system fixed which she refused so we did everything we can to make her happy but obviously she wanted us to do it for no cost. Within 2 month her system backed up again because of the main issue of her drainage field which we told her from the beginning but she obviously don't want that fixed. As we told her before that pumping her septic is a temporary fixed and it will back up again. We did our best, gave her more than she paid for but obviously we cannot work for free. She called Rotor Rooter and according to her that they fixed the overflow but that will again be temporary and she will have to face the problem again in a few months because the main issue is her drainage field.

Easy Rooter videoed the sewer to determine what needed to be done and showed me. Their price was reasonable compared to other options. They agreed to a completion date and complied with it. I was able to watch most of the process which went smoothly. When finished, they revideoed the line and showed me the completed lining out to the city main. That is all you can ask for and hope to get.

The sewer lateral for my home collapsed a few years ago. I spoke with the owner and he gave me a price quote of $5000. I didn't have that kind of money, so I asked him if we could work out a payment plan. He said - nope - it needs to be paid in full after the completion of the repair. I called around to a number of other places and eventually had it replaced for a third of what this company quoted me.

Approximately one week later, the sewer line clogged up again. We contacted Easy Rooter again, and were told we would have to pay for another clean out. Of course, we contacted another company. The company, Root-a-Matic came out promptly; installed a new ground level clean out; took a picture showing us where the clog was. They also stated the line had not been cleaned out all the way to the street as stated by Easy Rooter - and subsequently did this for us. The charge was reasonable and they guaranteed their work for up to 6 months. Easy Rooter was called once again in order to gain some type of satisfaction from them We were told if we produced the video, they would take a look at it with no guarantee of anything.
Description of Work: Called Easy Rooter because of a clogged sewer line. Two workers came out, found out the clean out was on the roof (even though Easy Rooter had been out before in August 2012); stated they would have to call another worker because of this. Other worker came out and began cleaning out line. The one worker came down and told us that they had to call in a third worker because the cable they were using was stuck in the sewer line. So, a third worker came out. Finally got their cable out of the line and told us (as written on the invoice) that they had cleaned the line all the way to the street. Also stated that due to the condition of the line needs camera and this would cost an additional $1200. We were presented with an invoice for $475. We were told the reason the bill was so high was because the cable was stuck and it took three guys to remove it. We stated that was not our fault; but went ahead and paid it anyway. The worker who wrote up the invoice, noted "No Warranty."

The workmanship was completed timely in a professional manor.
Description of Work: Easy Roter provided a vacuum truck to pump a septic tank. Estimator arrived the day before to give a estimate. The estimator gave a price of $856.00, I thought that included the cost of the vacuum truck, later discovered it was not, and the concrete risers Easy Roter provided at a 100% markup over cost. I signed the estimate and later learned that was the wrong thing to do. I also was talked into using their hydro-jet truck, I later learned Easy Roter charges a premium of $200.00 over their competition to use their hydro-jet truck. The estimator had me sign the estimate and stated he couldn't leave a copy, that I would get a copy tomorrow after the work was completed. I paid the vacuum truck operator $400.00 for his services thinking the cost of the vacuum truck was included in the price quoted. I paid Jeremy, Easy Roters representative an additional $1385.00. The next day I called Bruce the disbatcher for Easy Roter, I was told I signed the aggreement, there was nothing he would do to adjust the price. I would not use or refer this company to others. 11-13-12 I called Rotor Rooter to unplug the downstairs toilet. Roter Rooter was required to pull the toilet and unplug the main sewer line going to the septic tank. I was advised by Jeremy with easy rooter that the hydrojet unplugged the main line. I would like to be reimbursed by easy rooter for this unnecessary expense. Roter Rooter charged $289.83 to unpluged the sewer line.

In response to Member’s complaint dated 11/1/12. All the work in question was quoted prior to commencement of the jobs. Member agreed to pricing as witnessed by his acceptance signature. His price comparisons with other companies were done after the job and over the phone which makes them invalid. No company including ourselves would quote a job without first visually accessing it. We have been in business since 1979 and our pricing (Bids) are based on our experience as licensed contractors. We’ve found that quoting this work prior to commencement of work is by far the best way to avoid disputes. Thank you.
