Colonial Van & Storage Inc- Allied Van Lines

The movers showed up on the agreed upon date. They were very careless with our furniture and boxes. Very rough and oblivious to boxes marked fragile. When they unloaded our belongings you could hear the broken glass in the boxes. I immediately opened some of the dish pack boxes and the glassware was in pieces inside the bubble wrap. I showed the driver who took pictures. The items were shattered despite the fact that I bought special dish pack boxes with cardboard separaters and bubble wrapped everything. Even plastic bowls and a waffle maker were shattered. How does that happen?? They also damaged several pieces of furniture. I bought the extended full coverage insurance and submitted a claim to Allied. They promptly denied the claim for everything that was packed by us saying that the bill of lading required that there be damage to the cartons noted upon delivery. The bill of lading does NOT say this. I am currently appealing their decision. This company is not worth the hassle and does not respect your belongings. DO NOT USE THEM!

The crew that showed up to load and unload our furniture and belongings were very polite and very careful. Nothing was damaged. We could not have been more happy. We highly recommend them.

They were fine. I think I would use them again.

The guys that came and packed my stuff were really nice, and they did it very quickly. They told me it wasn't going to be here until the 6th so the 6th would have been good for me. Then they changed the date on me and I had to change plane tickets so that I would be at our new home when the furniture arrived, and then they changed it again and I had to change the tickets back again! I had to go to the top of the Allied Van Lines and they only paid me a small portion of the money I spent on the plane changes that I felt they owed me because they were the ones that kept making the changes. My grandmothers antique china was in boxes and it looked as if they had played soccer with it. It was all in shreds and they gave me $35.00 for that because they couldn't come up with a cost for it because the china was from the 1890's. So, I really don't like them, and I don't suggest that anyone else use them. I paid tips to the guys and then the ones that delivered I also gave them tips.

He was extremely helpful. My move went very smoothly because of him. If you have any problems, you can call him at any time and he will return your call promptly. In addition, he helps you work through any problems and I would highly recommend them. They did a great job at packing my things safely and so far not one thing has been broken.
