After I emailed with several questions regarding materials and insurance, Kirk rescended his quotation, stating his calendar for September had "filled up". I found this to be a bit strange in the course of one week, especially in light of the fact that the work could be scheduled later if he had maintained an interest. To be fair, the contractors I've contacted in my area tend to be rather casual about such things as insurance coverage and scope of work specifications, start dates and completion periods. So a "C" rating is above average from my experience.

They did a fabulous job: prompt, professional, courteous, and clean. The result looks just great. They delivered on time and on estimate. We asked them to do few extra things, and they did them with a smile for a very reasonable charge. Could not be more pleased. I picked this company based on the reports about it here on Angie's List, their estimate, and how well they responded and spoke with us during the estimating phase. I am glad I did.

Called Kirk based on reviews on Angie's list. He showed up early (which pleasantly surprised me), and gave me a quote right away (within a few hours). He was able to work us in and started the next day. I have had several painters and he and his crew are by far the most professional, friendly, and skilled group with which I have ever worked. Some highlights- he actually matched our paint color - we have white walls (as we all know there are many), and he actually matched it; he recommended a paint product that made our bookcases look like furniture (they look superb!); they sanded down the shelves and there was NO dust ANYWHERE when they left; I had cleared the area before they came and they took the time to hang everything back up from the pile I had next to the door (and I didn't even ask - it was wonderful!); and they never once commented on the fact that we had tried to paint them first and just couldn't get it right (an A+ in my book). His crew was precisely on time each morning, the taping of the room was meticulous, the clean up was superb, and they were very friendly offering us "viewing" whenever we wandered by and showing us the process. Would definitely hire them again. A+

This was by far the best painting team I have ever hired! Kirk arrived to complete an estimate 20 minutes after I called. He and his team arrived on time each day and they utilized every minute that they were there. They were friendly and professional, and receptive to doing all of the "extras" I asked for, such as installing a new side door into the garage for only the cost of the door. I was most impressed by the fact that they hand rolled the paint onto the interior walls rather than spray, which prevented the mistake of "over spray." The borders between the ceiling and walls are neat and clean. They came in right on budget and did not charge me any extra when the job was completed. I appreciate their professionalism, punctuality, and honesty. I will definitely be hiring them for my next job!

I am a very difficult person to please and demand any work done on my house must meet my standards. The trim on the house and the deck needed painting. I called Kirk Vandermark for an estimate which he very promptly gave me and his was the lowest of the two that I got. He and his crew did an exceptional job of scraping, caulking and painting which easily met my standards. He is definitely a professional and very friendly and courteous. He was on time and completed the work when he said it would be done. They did a very thorough job of cleanup. I would definitely recommend him to anyone as he and his crew are true professionals.

It went very well. They showed up on time worked a full day and put things away at the end of each day. They were very courteous and and kept us informed as to what was to been done each day what time they would arrive and approximately what time they would leave. If they found something that need repaired they did it and let us know it was needed and done. They went far beyond what we had expected.

It went very well, with not too much disruption of our household. The weather did not cooperate on the outside, however, so the men had to abandon ship because of rain. They left soaking wet tarps and ladders and other equipment to hold them down in the very bad rain and wind storm we had. They also left out their Shop Vac in the rain, so I went out at 11 pm one night and covered it up with plastic so it wouldn't be ruined. They could have left our patio in a neater condition for 2 and 1/2 rainy days, as I nearly tripped over stuff taking our dogs out to do their business. The sun finally came out, and they returned to finish the job. The painting is very nice, the job done nicely. I did have to go out and do a bit of cleanup on the patio since they didn't quite get all the little scraped pieces that fell from the pergola. Overall we were satisfied with Kirk's friendliness, willingness to work hard, and the quality of workmanship in the paint job. We would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Kirk provided the labor and my wife and I provided the paint. He and his crew did a fabulous job and went the extra mile, in preparing, painting and caulking. The job they did painting the trim was excellent. They were on time, courteous and very careful in protecting our landscaping, deck and other items that were not to be painted. I would hire them again.

We needed a complete interior repaint of a condo and needed it done pretty quick. Kirk was extremely responsive to all of our needs, and got the job done by the deadline. He even put in a couple of 12-hour days (of practically non-stop painting) in order to get the job done by the deadline! He was a pleasure to deal with at all phases of the job. We couldn't have asked for a better painter than Kirk Vandermark! We gave 'straight A's' in our evaluation because it was completely deserved: The price, quality of work, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism provided were all Excellent!

The process was great. Kirk brought two helpers with him everything went very well. They finished when they said they would. They were pleasant, courteous, and above all professional and prompt. They worked hard and our home looks great!

The owner was prompt in responding to my request for a quote, completed the work in the time he estimated, and his staff were all professional and courteous. It was overall a very good experience. They not only did a great job of painting, but left the yard and walkway spotless after cleaning up. I would highly recommend this company.

Cannot say good enough things about Kirk. He is totally professional and friendily. Very accommodating. His bid was the best of all we received.

Kirk's service was exceptional. He was prompt, professional and fastidious about avoiding overspray. He showed up on time and did a thorough clean-up. He did an excellent job and I highly recommend him to others. His type of professionalism is rare and hard to find these days.

Delays due to weather, but, Kirk kept me apprised of his schedule, which many contractors don't bother to do. He's punctual, honest, competent, and easy to work with. He did a great job on the house. No cutting corners. I'd hire him again in a minute.

Kirk responded quietly to my inquiry for an estimate. He arrived at the prearranged time(unlike Best Painting and Mr.Fix-It who did not show up at all). He and his assistant started the job earlier than scheduled; and finished in just over two days. I was very satisfied with the result which made the cost more bearable. Kirk and his crew did a great job on my house. I feel like the house was a difficult job, lots of different angles and levels, trim and surfaces. Lots of prep and detail. This crew was very professional, showed up everyday and worked hard. From prep, to paint, to cleanup, Kirk did a solid job. I have already recommened him to a couple of neighbors who liked the paint job. Kirk wont be the lowest bid, but based on a good honest quality job, you will get your money's worth. This is no blow and go one coat outfit.

I got 3 bids for the job. I talked to 3 different painting contractors and walked the building with them. Kirk Vandermark seemed the most knowledgable and his bid was competitive. My instincts told me I should give him a try. I was right. He and his crew came in, did the job, and did the job well. They got it done on time and within my budget. The quality of the workmanship was superb, and my law office is now the nicest looking office building in the area. I would HIGHLY recommend you use Vandermark Painting and their crew. Decent, honest people.

From the initial call I made requesting an estimate, Kirk Vandermark was prompt, courteous, and professional. His estimate was lower than others I received, which was good, but I wouldn't have chosen the lowest bidder if I didn't believe he would do the best job. Kirk worked with me in selecting the colors and I am very pleased with the end result. Although more paint was needed than originally thought, he honored the original quote. When the job was finished, the cleanup was complete. Except for my new, beautiful paint job, you would never know that they had been there!

My wife and I are well pleased with the job and we both are difficult people to please. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Overall, we could not have been more pleased with the out come. The service and professionalism were outstanding. These guys make painting a house an art with a keen eye for detail and design. What a relief these days to have such a big investment put into such good hands!!!!!!!!!!

Some friends recently had their house painted by Kirk Vandermark. After examining the quality of the work and receiving the recommendation of my friends, I asked Kirk to give me an estimate. I had already requested estimates from 5 other painting contractors. The reason I requested so many estimates is because my house has a large aluminum patio cover that needs special care to avoid damage. Four out of 6 contractors wanted nothing to do with it. I had originally selected the other contractor as they submitted the lower bid, but they proved unreliable in getting back to me and showing up when promised. After turning to Kirk, work started on the promised date. The prep work was good - they removed all old caulking before re-caulking. With other contractors I had to specifically request Consumer Products recommended Kelly-Moore paint, but it was the brand that Kirk already used. The crew acted politely and professionally and appeared eager to please. The price was a little on the high side, but I felt I could trust Kirk to handle the tricky patio cover without worrying about damages. While making a final examination, at Kirks request, I discovered the painters had missed painting a piece of trim above the gutter. When I informed Kirk he apologized for the oversight and came out immediately to correct the error. In addition I asked Kirk to change the color of two roof vent's trim and slats, and I told him to add the charge to the final bill. Kirk said not to worry about it and made the change without additional charge. Overall I'm very pleased with Kirk, his crew, and the quality of their work, and I will recommend Vandermark Painting to my friends and neighbors.
