Had service folks out on 4 different occasions. Each time service was on time, expertly done and fairly charged. Savage & Son plumbing tech are friendly, informative and expert at what they do. Company has been around for 5 generations and still providing good and prompt old-fashion customer service.

They did a great job and covered the hole back up well.

Savage & Sons' estimator, Dave, did not respond at all to two voice messages and one message left in person at the store. No call-backs or messages. Apparently, they don't want our business and aren't professional enough to less us know that. Approximate cost is for the plumber we ended up using. The "fair" rating is because we have received great service for regular plumbing jobs from Savage & Sons.

Great Mike knew exactly what to do.He replaced the overflow tank on the water heater and to be extra sure replaced the seats and washers on the faucet

I have not been real happy with them. I think they fixed it okay. They had to have a concrete subcontractor fix the concrete because it had to go to the street. I wasn't happy with the job the concrete company did. They didn't get back with me in a timely manner when I started complaining about it. It wasn't because of their plumbing but the concrete wasn't covered and started flaking. I finally had to talk to one of the top people. When they did come out they put a sealant on it and I thought that was a band aid approach. I have talked to other concrete people and they agreed it was a band aid. I am hoping the water main was done right considering the concrete was not done correctly. They had to put a whole line of grass in and they just threw in sod. My son had to dig it up and fix it.

They were very responsiveness and came right away and shut off the water to the entire house They isolate the leak and by mid afternoon the water was restored to the house They spent a considerable time to isolate and fid the leak with a lot of digging in both the front and back of the house the plumber fixed the leak but returned on the following 2 days to check on it to be sure it was OK When the work was completed I checked everything and found they had not turned the valve at the curb on which means that the repair was not tested under full pressure .This means that there is question about the adequacy of the repair In addition they failed to fill the hole they dug up in the back

We had a fairly significant drip from a joint connected to a faucet in our laundry room that supplied water to our whole house humidifier. Our regular plumber, Rocket, wasn't available so we called another Angie's List plumber - Savage and Sons. They were polite on the phone and promptly showed up an hour after the call on a Saturday. The fellow spent a total of about 45 minutes or so replacing this tiny ring on the connection that was causing the issue. It was probably a $.10 part. Problem solved! I expected the call to cost in the neighborhood of $80 or so but wouldn't have been surprised if he charged around $100.00. What I wasn't expecting was a bill for double that. They were prompt, polite and seemed knowledgable but at those prices I can't see us EVER using them again.

We had some initial hesitation about dealing with such a large company, but we called smaller companies and found that they could not come for several days. The Savage people could have come the next day (we were tied up), so it was the following day. Tom was great! He was punctual, and cleaned up after himself. He charged $80 and hour, but portal to portal, (sigh).He also chatted with my wheelchair-bound husband, but was still able to work quickly. We appreciated his professionalism, as well as his kindness!

Called about 12:45pm after discovering a leak under the kitchen sink. We were told that the plumber would call just before he'd arrive between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. At about 2:10, plumber called and said he would be at our house in a few minutes. Arrived about 2:20. Looked under sink and knew immediately what the problem was. Took about 15 minutes to repair. It was wonderful that we were able to get the problem fixed in less than 3 hours, especially when we had called someone else and we were told they wouldn't be able to come for 6 days. This was the first time we used Savage and Sons, and we will definitely use them again.

Replaced old broken water heater. They showed up when they said they would and charged what they said it would cost.

He arrived early, was professional, and friendly. Great customer service from making the appt to getting the work done. I would use them again.

Responsive, helpful, fairly priced work.

The lines are 15 plus years old and made from a one piece line that could not be replaced without replacing the whole faucet. Tom the repairman turned off the main water supply, then drained all the lines and replaced the faucets. He added new lines and checked for leaks, made adjustments as needed cleaned up gave me my bill and left. I am very pleased with his work and I will hire him again.

Everything went well. The water heater is working fine.

They were polite, efficient, and did the job very well. They really knew what they were doing. They did a job that we haven't been able someone to fix in 10 years by fixing the faucet. It was money well spent.

They were great! They were very professional. Their pricing was reasonable. They were prompt, clean and courteous.

Our water heater started leaking yesterday. I called our usual plumber and got an estimate of $1480 for a replacement. I decided to join Angie's List and checked out the highest rated plumbers. I would never have guessed that the best estimate I got was from the oldest plumbing and heating company in Reno ( in business for 120 years!), Savage and Son. They wouldn't give me an exact quote because they charge a flat labor rate and they didn't know for sure what parts I would need. They did quote me $529 for the water heater which was the same brand ALL the plumbers I called use, and their labor is $80/hr. They said it would probably be around $1100, so I went with them. Less than an hour later the plumber arrived, and in less than two hours after that he was on his way. He took the old heater away, left the area cleaner than when he arrived, and the total bill was...... $910!!! I definitely got my money's worth from Angie's List! And Savage and Son!

Plumber arrived on time and was professional and friendly. It took him only about 15 minutes to replace the worn hose bib. When he turned off the water, he noticed an ant infestation in the water main box in the ground. He let me know and suggested we get some ant spray and he would spray around the area. I thought that was pretty good because he could have just ignored it. The cost was a little high for the work performed. I knew it was going to cost a minimum of $80 for the service call but didn't expect the parts to be $43. Overall they did a good job and responded to the call very quickly.

I thought the cost was appropriate for the job, they were very respectful of my house and they did a good job!

i could not employ them this week i will have to wait until i can pay the service call amount. i need to keep looking around for someone who will do a non pay evaluation. i need to know what is really wrong first. I will keep looking on the list sent to me.

Friday morning when making breakfast, I noticed that the rug next to the kitchen sink was wet. The water was coming from one of the pipes under the sink so I tried tightening it but it only got worse. Over the day I called several plumbers from the yellow pages and waited for them to call me back. Many were busy and booked until after the weekend. About 3:40pm I went to Angie's list and saw that Savage and Sons had excellent reviews, so I decided to give them a call. At first the dispatcher said that they too were booked but proceeded to ask me about my situation. He told me that he would call me back. Five minutes later he called me back and told me that his plumber would arrive shortly. Half an hour later Mike pulled up to make the repair. He quickly saw that the problem was old and corroded pipes. He removed and replaced the pipes and was all finished by 5 pm when my husband arrived. Based on the quotes other plumbers had given us, I was expecting to have to pay a lot. However, the price we paid was very fair and reasonable. Bottom line: Savage and Sons were courteous, prompt, professional and fair. Next time we have a plumbing problem, I can assure you that we will definitely use Savage and Sons again.

Plumber was very friendly and professional - came and removed the pedestal sink very quickly. The next day, a handyman came to repair and repaint the wall where the pedestal sink was attached and did a great job. Later, the plumber came and installed the vanity, vessel sink, and faucet. The only reason I give a and quot;Band quot; for quality was that a couple days later, both the sink and the pipes underneath developed very tiny leaks. The same plumber came back out to fix the leaks but I think he may have gone a tad overboard with the silicone. He added extra silicone to around the drain of the vessel sink and now I have many streaks of silicone around the drain, and a few gobs of it underneath. I am having a very difficult time trying to remove the streaks.
