JF Painting of Reno did an outstanding job painting the exterior of our house. We felt comfortable with owner Jim Farley from the start because of his warm, outgoing personality, his experience (17 years owning the business) and his high Angie's List ratings. We trusted in his judgment as far as the colors, and are glad we did. He made our house look brand new and really stand out on our block in Sparks. It only took his crew two full days to paint the exterior of our 1,650-square-foot house, and Jim's employees also are professional and friendly. My wife and I talked about it afterward, and can't remember a better business experience in our 30-plus years in the Reno area. Oh, and his prices are reasonable, too. Jim comes from the old school in that he's ethical and honest. We will highly recommend him to our friends.

From the outset things went quite rapidly. We were blessed with good weather so there were no snags. Jim was constantly dropping in making certain that all was going well. Every day after the guys finished they did a thorough clean up. Jim is an easy man to get to know and get along with. His manner is friendly and I think his integrity is beyond question. When we decided to take on this project I thought Angies List would be a logical place to begin. When I saw Jim's rating of straight A's I didn't hesitate to give him a call. And like most of the commenters here I feel I've made a new friend.`

Jim and his crew did an amazing job fixing our deck. I called JF Painting after hiring a fraudulent painter (Ierace Painting - never give him a red cent!!!) who spent six weeks literally destroying our deck by incorrectly applying the exterior deck paint Restore. Jim's crew had to work tirelessly for days to cut/saw the caulk from between the deck planks and then sand the remaining paint down and reapply. I had one painter come out to give me an estimate and he took one look at the disaster and said he didn't have a clue as to how to fix it and wouldn't want to spend the manpower. Jim is a kind and fair businessman who helped us because it was the right thing to do and he was angry that we were taken advantage of by the fraud that wasted our money and our time. I would hire Jim again in a heartbeat. I would recommend to anyone with great confidence that he would do great work at a fair price.

Jim responded to my call immediately and then came by right away to give me an estimate to paint my fence. He and his crew were professional and did a great job for me. We had some bad weather and I really appreciated that Jim kept me informed every morning until the weather improved enough to do the job.

I would highly recommend Jim Farley and his team of painters. Jim was very prompt and responsive with his bid. Jim wasn't our lowest bidder, but he impressed us with his professionalism and guarantee that the job would be done right. The stucco of our house had not been painted since the mid-1980's. The higher parts of the trim had not had attention since the late 1990's and the rest of the trim had not been painted for about 10 years. Our house needed lots or prep work and replacement of a large fascia board that was two stories off the ground. Jim recommended the color scheme for the painting and it looks great. His team was very professional, but friendly, and very knowledgeable about what they were doing and what paint would work well on what surfaces. They did the job when the weather was quite cool in the mornings and overnight. They did all the prep work in the cool mornings and were very careful not to paint until the temperature was above 50 degrees and would remain so for a couple of hours so that the paint would dry correctly. We especially liked that they did not smoke on the job and were careful to clean up and replace things that they moved. The job took four full days to complete. We were very happy with the results and plan to use Jim and his team for some indoor painting over the winter.

Jim and his crew are very professional. They worked fast, but definitely took care of all the details. They replaced trim that needed replacing. They caulked where the wood had expanded. They trimmed out the bottom where the wood was very weathered. Jim helped us pick the colors for the house, the trim and the front doors and made great recommendations. His crew did beautiful work, they were on time, professional, and they cleaned up everything when they were done. The house looks fresh and new. We're very happy with the work they did.

I was very impressed with the owner and his pride in his work. I am thankful for Angie's list to have and quot;introducedand quot; this contractor. Really looking forward to seeing the prep work this year and the finished job next spring.

We hired JF Painting because the owner, Jim Farley, was very explicit in what his crew would do and how they would do it. He went through the entire process in detail, emphasizing the time and attention given to the prep phase. He also told us a lot about his crew, emphasizing their attention to detail, quality of work and professionalism. After signing the contract and paying half up front, we wondered if he could really deliver on his promises. Well, he did! Our house was in pretty bad shape and we were surprised by finished product. Jim came by often to check on the work and to make sure we were satisfied. Communication with Jim and his men was excellent. Before Jim bought the paint he met with us to be sure it was what we wanted. His bid was based on Behr Premium Plus, and we decided to upgrade to Behr's new high end paint, Marquee. Jim was skeptical about this new product but he ran the numbers for us and for a few hundred dollars more we got the Marquee. The crew really liked the way this paint went on and the final result is a lustrous, silky finish that looks and feels perfect. Jim will be will be using this paint in the future if customers are willing to pay extra for it. Jim's bid was a little higher than another one we had but we feel we got excellent value for what we paid. It was a pleasure to do business with Jim and his crew. Joe and Sue Livak

Jim Farley did a superior job in painting our home. His painting team was extremely thorough, polite and displayed exceptional skills in preparation and painting. The estimate was right on target. All of the workers were outstanding. They always cleaned up and were very mindful of the professionalism of their work.

Jim and his crew were awesome. They came for a day of prep work and caulked everything well. Jim went over everything with us and told us why it needed to be done. His estimate was right on and quite accurate. We had two other companies back from the FALL give estimates and his was right in-between them. But we could tell he knew his stuff and we were impressed with his responsiveness and professionalism. And he is a friendly easy going guy to deal with. No pressure at all. He even helps you pick a color and works with you on it when it was brighter than expected. I picked a bright sky blue and he toned it down by painting the garage doors and all the trim white - now we are the best house in the neighborhood. I have a feeling everyone is wondering and quot;why did I not think of that colorand quot; because all men like blue (right??). It is beautiful and now feels like a rich home in the Hamptons (cottage home at the beach). We really liked Jims crew. They wer polite and profesional and did everything we asked. They did not know that I understand Spanish and even though I heard them talk about their families they never talked bad about us even though they had to come back several times to fix the other painters bad work. We have been in business our whole lives and we would hire them today. Jim is lucky to have such a fine crew. They did a great professional job. And it is amazing how fast they did it. Three men breezed through the main part of the job in 104 degree heat. They even had their attention on the details. Lots of covering and taping to keep everything clean and nice. No splatters on the patio or pavement like I have had other painters do. No compaints when they had to fix the bad work done back in the Fall. Jim checked in on them regularly and always checked with us too. We love the color, happy with the job and most of all we made a good new friend. We hope when we refer Jim's Company out to everyone we know that he still has time to do more work for us. We really appreciate dealing with a professional company. In remodeling this home, we have found the opposite with other companies and it only caused stress. What a pleasure to deal directly with the owner who takes pride in his work. Don't use anyone to paint until you give Jim and his crew a chance at the job. You will deffinately be happy. And don't forget to complete the Angies List review, he deserves it.

Jim came out promptly to give us an estimate on painting the exterior of our home. His estimate was right in the range that we had expected it to be. His team arrived on time and did a fantastic job of power washing the house, sanding, calking and preparing the house prior to painting. They always were polite, courteous and anxious to please. I first met Jim more than 10 years ago when he painted my neighbor's house. His crew could not have been more respectful, and he struck me as a man of integrity from the start. The house turned out beautifully, along with the many others he has since painted in my neighborhood. I was always amazed by the amount of prep work he did on each home, and I have seen how well his work holds up over the years. My home was last painted in 1991, and the siding was well cooked by the Caughlin Fire. I was not able to paint until this year, but Jim still honored a quote that was more than a year old. After the first day of prep, my house literally had stripes because Gustavo and crew caulked and primed just about every inch of it! They repaired my pergola, replaced warped wood around a window, and put new fascia on the front and side of my 2 story home. They took down an old satellite dish along with all of the cables, and even made time to change a light bulb in the ceiling of my 2 story living room. Jim's crew completely cleaned up every night, and took excellent care to avoid damaging my landscaping and newly seeded lawn. His crew does not smoke, and I didn't find ANY garbage! They finished painting my house yesterday, and what a transformation! I'm glad I followed Jim's advice on paint colors, because I have had more than 20 neighbors comment on how good it looks! If you're looking for a contractor with integrity and pride in what he does, Jim is your man. He hires quality people who will respect your home, and he is a hands on boss. From his reputation I knew he would do excellent work, but it felt like I had concierge service. Jim is the real McCoy, what he says is what you get...and then some!

In my 63 years of dealing with contractors, this is the most pleasant experience I have ever had. Jim was attentive and responsive to all our needs from day one till the job was finished. He was very knowledgeable about all the options for our wood-sided house and helped us come up with a solid stain and worked with us on trying to find a desirable color. He brought us samples and did test samples on boards and on the house to make sure we were happy. His crew were the nicest most pleasant guys you could have working around your house. They worked full days in blazing heat to get the job done. For us, an added bonus is that none of them smoke. The best thing of all is their incredible attention to detail. I haven't ever had a house painted that didn't have drip marks or spots left on the windows, but these guys were meticulous and I could not find any drips or window spots at all. The prep work time they put in was extensive and much needed. They cleaned up so well, that I could never have been able to tell they were here except for the fact that the house went from a flaky mess to looking like it was a new model home. We could not be happier with the results.

Jim came out to the house and looked at the items we wanted be completed. Soon after he returned with a price and a written quote. We discussed the timing of the job and gave Jim the deposit to get started.. The workers were professional , polite and efficient. The the work was completed to our satisfaction.

Jim arrived on time to meet with us. We walked the perimeter of the house as he discussed the process he and his team use to prep the house. He pointed out areas of our house that needed additional attention, ie, replacement of window trim boards, which he said they would do themselves. He stated that they will power wash the house first then give it one full day to dry before scraping, brushing and sanding. He showed us the areas they would caulk and discussed methods of doing repairs to our facia, as well as to the window trim. He explained their process of painting the front door and protecting it from conamination by dust, dirt and bugs while it dries. He guaranteed that his crew would clean up everyday and that they are all very trustworthy. He discussed color choices that would tie into the color of our brick as well as our roof. He gave us a quote on the spot that we felt was a fair price given the large size of our house and the additional wood repair work that was needed. We signed a contract and put down a deposit. We all agreed to wait for the weather to warm up before beginning as we were still having occasional overnight temperature dipping below 32 F degrees. As soon as the weather was in the 70 F degree range they began with the power wash. The days grew warmer as they progressed. In the end, they replaced another board that supported our raingutter that had rotted. We were especially happy with the thorough prep work and the detailed caulking. The paint job was excellent, however, the trim color we selected was too white. Jim came to the rescue with a perfect off-white trim that warmed up the overall color scheme. In the end, we feel our house is well protected from the elements and it looks beautiful. I feel like we have a brand new house! Jim did not charge us extra for the additional board replacement or change in trim color. Everyone in his crew was hardworking, trustworthy and very professional. They cleaned up thoroughly everyday before leaving the workplace. I highly recommend Jim and his crew to everyone.

Jim was great and very patient in helping me pick a excellent color for my house. My house had not been painted in 15 years and looked terrible. He did a spectacular job and it looks like a brand new house. Thank you Jim and crew for a job well done!

JF Painting was one of several estimates I received. I thought the price was fair and I liked how prompt the owner (Jim) was when coming out to give me a thorough estimate. Jim was great about talking colors and giving me suggestions and showing me other work he had done nearby so I could go check on other jobs he and his team had completed. I also appreciated that Jim and his team understand that painting a house is a big commitment and they were helpful AND patient as i worked through color choices (up to and including painting a part of the fascia so I could make sure I was comfortable with my choice).

chhI am delighted with the house, the color and the quality of the work Jim did. He is very professional as well as very friendly and helpful, his employees also professional and friendly. As well as painting my LARGE house they did a few carpentry repairs on various problem areas, re-attached the rain gutter, removed and replaced some rotted wood trim, added trim where it had been lost. Also, they had to paint the house 2 times, as my HOA and neighbors protested my first choice of colors. This time I listened to Jim's advice and everything worked out splendidly.

Jim and crew calked and sealed every joint and crack as well as made minor repairs, primed the surfaces, feather the rough spots and finally gave the house two coats of oil based paint. Jim was very easy to work with; knowledgeable, made suggestions and recommendations on colors and contrasts and worked with me to accommodate my schedule, The crew arrived on time evry time and only stopped for a short lunch break. They are true craftsmen who care about their work and service they provided.Without question I intend to use JF Painting again. Great job, terffic service well worth the money.

I had a great experience with Jim and his crew. They were very thorough and got the job done in record time. Jim in my experience was very knowledgeable and helpful. Jim went above and beyond by installing a weather stripping in my door that needed to be replaced.
