Description of Work: The Ben Franklin service person misled me by telling me that the "traditional" cylindrical, tank-type hot water heater (similar to what was currently in service) was no longer available, by code. He informed me that my choices were one of 3 (good, better, best) tankless type water heaters. (I chose to go with the 'middle' choive). While it is partly my fault for not independently verifying his claims before agreeing to the purchase, I believe I was intentionally misled into making a purchase I likely would not have agreed to, if I had all of the facts which a reputable firm should share even if it means that the sale prices would've been lower. At least twice during the initial discussions, I asked "so, what you're telling me is that I can't get a replacement water heater similar to what I currently have?" Each time he indicated no. | |I've been reluctant to report on my (dis)satisfaction, as I'm partly responsible and am somewhat embarrassed by my own naiveté and failure to verify the service person's claims prior to agreeing to an installation. However, prior to this experience, I believed that Ben Franklin Plumbing was a reputable firm, particularly when it was recommended by Angie's List. In this instance, I would've been equally served by randomly selecting someone rom the Yellow Pages.
