They were nice when they came but the price was a $1,000.00 more than we were quoted from another company. We chose another company that was going to make divisions in the stucco to keep it from cracking as this company thought we did not need that. They were very professional in giving the quote and explaining things. I would have no problem using them in the future except for a few little issues.
Description of Work: This was for stucco.

We actually met David in Reno about a month prior to actually owning the home, when we talked about the project at a high level and discussed some ballpark pricing. In the meantime, we looked at his work and changed our ideas on the house a few times over. About a week before actually closing escrow, we met David at the house in South Lake Tahoe. He came up with a great bid on a fairly good sized project, but it really impressed us how attentive he was and how he promised an aggressive schedule for doing the work. There were some hiccups in the beginning, none of which were David's fault. We ran into delays due to the county permit and due to the electrical getting shut off, but David continued to make progress and do what he could to get the job done. Over time, we asked David to do some other minor tasks that were above and beyond the scope of the original estimate. David was able to do all of the additional work with a high level of quality in a timely manner. He also does a great job of communicating by phone, text, email, whatever. Overall, we are very happy with the work done by DLR, and would recommend this company to anybody looking for a good contractor.
Description of Work: DLR Construction was hired to remodel two and half bathrooms and to create a deck pad to install a hot tub. As the project went on, there were more things that needed to be done like some heater work, a gas line, some electrical work, and appliance installation.

Description of Work: I called David regarding an estimate for an office remodel. The scope of work was about $30K. I sent the blue prints and drawings, and he said he would reiview and come by the office to discuss. In the next two weeks I sent him two emails and then called him. He appologized and then toild me he would be there that day. It's four days later and I have never heard from him again. I was only going to get 2 bids from Angie's list contractors due to their good standing, and this has now set me back 3 weeks in getting a second bid.

David was very professional from beginning to end. He did an estimate and worked with me to make the cabinet affordable. After providing an estimate, he learned that because of the specific measurements for our kitchen he would have to make a custom cabinet. But he kept to his agreed estimate. The work was quality work and it is an attractive addition to our kitchen. David and his crew were professional and positive at all times. I was not happy with the height of the microwave over the oven, but he did his best to accommodate my needs and to keep to the manufacturer specification for the oven. Also, we had previously lined up an electrician before contracting with DLR. David was fine with working with him on the project. When our electrician turned out to be a no show, David quickly found an electrician to do the work; his guy did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Overall we are very satisfied with DLR and we look forward to having them do additional work in our home.
Description of Work: replace oven cabinet as we purchased a larger oven that didn't fit in our old oven cabinet.

I give the highest of recommendations to David Rivera and DLR Construction. My wife and I recently bought a 2nd home in Lake Tahoe – a foreclosure. As the house had been vacant for a few years, upon closing we knew some thorough remodeling and renovation would be in order. However, as we live several hours away from Lake Tahoe and both work full time, our first step in the renovation process was to secure an honorable and trustworthy General Contractor to partner with us in completing all of the work. We setup 1 hour interviews and as-is property walkthroughs with 5 different General Contractors…but David and DLR Construction clearly stood out from the rest. He demonstrated comfort and fluency with all components of home building and repair, talked us through the steps and sequencing required to transform our investment, and had a nice photo library of his previous work to give us comfort with his craftsmanship and experience. Upon our initial walkthrough of the property, David took a meticulous look at all elements of the house, talked to us about our vision, budget, and priorities, and quickly developed an initial proposal for the work – itemized by line item, and inclusive of some computerCAD mock-up drawings of the proposed product. David’s prices were in line with what we had expected (and the other quotes we received) but his proposal was much more professional and his responsiveness and attention to detail exceeded expectations. For context, here is a punchlist of the renovation and installation work David performed for us: Install gas line (main) to the house Install new roof and insulation New, state-of-the-art kitchen New, state-of-the-art bathroom (including customized shower) All new hardwood floors All new tile in kitchen/bath/entryways Install new french doors and energy efficient windows Install new gas fireplace Replace existing water damaged areas with new drywall/boards Re-wired house for new/more lighting and fans Re-plumbed house to allow for (new) 2nd bathroom Paint all interior and exterior of the house All demo work and waste removal Much, much more… David and DLR Construction did most all of the work themselves, and pulled in the requisite subcontractors and suppliers when needed to deliver a complete solution. David also managed the entire permitting and inspection process with the city/county – which was a huge help (cannot be overstated). For certain portions of the renovation, we actually bought the materials ourselves, and just had David do the labor/installation. David allowed us to have all materials sent directly to him, and within a week of receipt it was installed. David could not have made this a more pleasant or professional experience. Our project took approximately 3 months, and during this time David served as our eyes, ears, hands, and heart on the project. David was wonderful in sending us periodic emails and digital photos of the work being performed to the house, and we would travel up to the property every 1-2 weeks to meet David on a Saturday and see things in person. David was the definition of client service, always catering to our needs and requests, and never causing us worry. Bottom Line - If you are looking for a ‘no headache’ experience with top-shelf service, results, and quality – I implore you to use DLR Construction. David and DLR Construction have my full endorsement.

Description of Work: We asked this company to bid on a project. They showed up, made a good impression, told us they'd have a bid in a couple days. A week later no bid had been submitted. We called twice and left messages to submit their bid. The company didn't even have the courtesy to return our calls, let alone submit a bid

Response from DLR Construction LLC
As a company, it is our policy to treat all potential customers with dignity and respect we usually respond in a timely manner since we depend from our customers for our livelihood, that is not to say that something may not slip out of our hands now and then as humans, we may have overlooked submitting a bid to this gentleman but as far as not responding the phone calls sound rather intriguing since we depend from all phone calls, however, by not presenting a bid is that in itself negative? We go to countless customers, present the bid and never get a courtesy call to thanks us for the 'free time" energy, and effort given to them when the bid is not accepted, is that negative? "NO" we do not hold it against them, its the nature of business, we move on. However, once our company is committed to our clients, we take great pride in giving 110% effort to obtain the required expectations by our client, we even guaranty our labor in writing for a period of one year, who does that? Most will give you 90 days if that. " READ MY PREVIOUS CUSTOMER REVIEWS ABOVE" we are sorry for any disaster our oversight may have caused this gentleman to feel so negative toward this company. Sincerely, David Rivera Rep. for DLr Construction LLC
