After contacting D C Electrical and explaining our problem and answering a few questions over the phone Craig advised he had a pretty good idea what our problem was. After coming out to our house and assessing our situation he quickly fixed the problem. He literally had it fixed within minutes. Due to the simple and quick repair we only charged for the mandatory service call fee and did receive a 10% discount for the Angie's List referral. Highly recommend Craig and DC Electrical. They were friendly efficient and seemed very knowledgeable.

I have used DC twice now. Good quality work and the first job I felt was a good value, but the second job done recently was very expensive for the work done, so from a value perspective disappointing. For example, replacing one existing bathroom light/fan combo and adding a separate switch for the fan cost $425, not including fan/light price. We were charged $1,700 dollars for a half day's work, and that is not including any of the actual fixtures. Be sure to ask to be billed an hourly rate rather than a flat rate, because we were billed a flat rate and the cost was excessive.

We were very pleased with the timely arrival of the team, the quick and professional service, the work coming in at the quoted price, and the polite answers to our myriad of questions. We would highly recommend DC Electrical to anyone looking for electrical work.

Arrived ahead of schedule and went straight to work. Very professional and completed the work quickly. My only regret was forgetting to use the Angie's list coupon found on-line (could have saved 10%).

I cannot recommend this company more highly than I have. From my first call for an estimate to the completetion of the work, there was great communication, all commitments were kept and the work was first rate. The crew was fantastic. They made great recommendations that made the completed job even better. The quality of the work was outstanding and they did a thorough clean up. I even received a follow up call from the owner (Craig) to make sure that I was satisfied. How often does that happen with contract work? I will definitely use DC Electric again.

My house was built in 1911. There had been some electrical upgrades over the years, but nothing was done ever to code. The electrical system was a mix up of old knob and tube and do it yourself electrical patchwork. I had used D.C. Electrical in the past for a panel upgrade at a rental property some years back. They did such a great job I knew I would go back to them. I contacted D.C. Electrical in April 2014. The owner Craig Etling was early to the appointment and greeted me with a smile. He did thorough walkthrough of the residence, including every room, the basement, attic and walked around the entire outside perimeter of the house. I explained that the residence would be undergoing extensive renovation over the next nine to ten months including a whole new HVAC and plumbing system. In addition, I explained that I would be managing this renovation project from Virginia, 2500 miles away. He said it would be no problem and we both agreed good communication would be the key. I received a quote a few days later. I had many detailed questions before the work started and Craig obliged every single one without hesitation. I sent a deposit the following week. Craig and his team began work a week later starting with a tear out of the old system. Due to the scope of work, the project had to be phased out in weeks and months so other contractors could complete their jobs prior to the finish work of the electrical. Over the next nine months Craig and I were in contact several times a month through email as I updated him on my other contractors progress. The extensive communication worked well as it helped with scheduling each phase of work for both of us. Craig and his team completed the electrical phase December 2014. D.C. Electrical and Craig were great to work with and extremely accommodating to the renovation schedule. Their professionalism and electrical expertise are second to none. I would hire Craig and the D.C. Electrical team again and highly recommend them for any electrical needs. They do first rate work at a fair price.

Craig and his crew showed up on time and had the job done in 45 minutes with minimal damage to the drywall. This job would have taken me hours to complete but they were in and out quickly. The most important thing....the lady of the house loves the new lighting. I will be calling D.C. Electrical back when we need electrical service. And, you were right Craig, she did mention that we need one more light over the sink area.

I just bought this house recently, and the prior owner made some questionable decisions regarding some wiring in the garage. Instead of a simple ceiling light there was this real mess of wiring that split off multiple times. After a month or so in the house, the light quit turning on. Being out in Fernley, there's not much in the way of local contractors. I had called one other local provider, but it took them 4 days to return my call. In the meantime, I found DC Electric here on Angie's list and gave Craig a call. Craig called me back shortly after I left a message. He was friendly and polite, and asked good, detailed questions that showed a thorough understanding of his profession. He gave me a ballpark estimate of the cost and had me send over some pictures from my phone. Upon further review and discussion of what I wanted, he revised his estimate downwards. As he came out to Fernley from Reno, he bundled up several jobs in the area to justify the trip. He didn't show up exactly at the estimated time of arrival, but called to let me know what was going on. I had told him I'd be home all day, so the minor delay in arriving was no factor to me - I'm just happy that he made the drive out here at all. The actual issue was diagnosed and corrected in short order, and appeared to be a shoddy home job by the prior occupant of the house. The final charge was a simple "basic service call" rate. I had done some prep work of the area before he arrived, which resulted in being charged $50 less than I had been anticipating. Having always heard anecdotal stories of sub-contractors padding hours or doing unnecessary work in order to charge more, it's refreshing to find an electrician who's willing to drive long distances to your house and charges you less than his phone estimate based on the work ending up being easier than anticipated. The reviews here for this company are spot on. Called on a Friday morning and Craig Etling (owner) and his coworker were at my house within two hours. They are professional, nice, and have top quality tools that are neatly organized. They work efficiently and the little mess they make, they clean up. I've already arranged for them to come back and install ceiling fans throughout the house. Their prices are reasonable and I highly recommend them.

Craig Etling, the owner of DC Electrical and assist came to my house, on time and immediately started work on sub panel. My home was built in 1964, so extra care had to be taken to ensure that original panel was not disturbed. They worked well together to make sure job was correctly done. We had the surge protector also added so that if there is a surge, everything (all outlets) are protected and this comes with its own guarantee. Very happy with this provider.

I called on thursday and they were able to be on the job friday at 0830. Craig and his assistant were right on time and went right to work. They removed two old fixtures and installed the new ones in about 45 minutes. They did a good job and I would use them again without hesitation.

They were done within 2 hours. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves. The price was exactly as quoted, which I thought was a bit expensive. BUT, you can't skimp when it comes to high quality, professional service especially when it concerns electrical work. Thank you! I will definitely use again!

The men showed up within an hour of my call. they checked out the job,gave me verbal estimate of price, and went to work. They made some adjustments to make the stove top fit properly. They hooked up the stove top up to today's code They were here less than hour, leaving the place clean. They did a great job, though they are expensive.

It went well. He suggested letting it run its course - it still had some years left, replaced all the bulbs. We originally scheduled him for Monday, but he called and said he was in the neighborhood - could he stop in. So we received same day service.

Craig and his team move fast and furious. The team, rather than a single electrician, certainly helps diagnose a problem much faster. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem within an hour.Their professionalism and experience are evident, as they explained to me each step of the process. Wonderful work and saved me a lot of money that another electrician was going to charge.

Craig and his team are really great. Had them install two chandeliers (replacing two pendants), a light/fan combination which required pulling ceiling wires & cutting sheet rock, a light over the hall bath tub (more wiring & sheet rock) and a dimmer switch. Promptly received a response to my email and estimate from Craig. Scheduled an appointment based upon the scheduled delivery of the light fixtures. Very easy to deal with. They arrived on time, in fact a little early. They took only 1.5 hours to complete everything. They are neat and reliable. His pricing is not cheap but it's fair and worth the money. He gave us the 10% discount as advertised. If you hire a contractor, you might do better at time and materials pricing but his fixed-priced estimate was good. Maybe for more difficult jobs it could have been more expensive. Recommend asking questions for the work ahead of time so you have the right parts or ask him to bring the parts so everything is ready to go ahead of time. We would use them again.

Craig is prompt, courteous and respectful of the house. Even my dogs liked him.
