This was a conflict of interest. You cannot be receiving the rent checks and then turn around and pay your company for cleaning services, at whatever rate and amount of time you choose. You cannot turnaround charge the tenant.
Description of Work: As a resident moving out of a home in Reno, NV I was surprised when I received a deduction from my deposit in the amount of $140. $35 an hour for six hours of cleaning that apparently the owner decided had to be done. What was more surprising is the owner used her cleaning company "Cleaning to a t". I was not aware she had her own cleaning service, would decide how much time was needed and was not given an option to use another service nor informed she would be using her company. I used a cleaning service for 10 hours, had the carpets professionally cleaned and anything that was not in brand new condition was considered not clean by the owner. Normal wear and tear was not taken into consideration, as stated in the lease.
