Sierra Moving Systems

The experience started off fine, the moving consultant, Nick, came to our home and gave us an estimate. The packers showed up and said this packing would take them all day and they would be unable to load things into the u-haul. We paid for their services and were told another crew would be coming to load the boxes. We were not given a date and time that this would happen. We were in a time crunch and had two days until we absolutely had to move. Saturday morning came and we were to be leaving Sunday morning. After making numerous unanswered calls, men showed up to load the boxes, without notice. It wasn't until we moved across country and had everything unloaded that we began to unpack the boxes and noticed a very important and valuable item was missing from its case. A police report was filed immediately and the company was made aware that day. The moving consultant initially returned my calls a few hours later and from then on, never returns calls or voicemails. A claim was made to the claims department. This company is essentially sweeping this matter under the rug and no compensation is being made to deal with this situation. After numerous phone calls and emails to people higher up in the company, things are still not getting resolved. I do not recommend using this company at all. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy.

There was a problem with the office. They ran the charge through another company without alerting us. The amount was above my alert limit, and was through a company that I didn't recognize. American Express contacted me, and I canceled my card as a fraud prevention measure. This meant that I had to change my American Express number with a number of organizations that I have automatic payments made through that card. I missed a couple, and that caused more problems with late payments. Fairly annoying situation that could have been avoided if they had told me that the payment would be processed through another company. I don't consider that to be professional, and have graded accordingly.

I called requesting a quote to move a fridge from one garage to another 20 minutes away. However, their minimums were too high for my situation. I was quoted 2 guys and a truck having a minimum of 1 hour drive and 3 hours move time, approx $425. If that doesn't exceed the value of what you are moving short distance, then it may be a good match for you, unfortunately, just not in my case. The representative was very courteous and professional. I'd use them if I had a lot to move.

I had no idea which moving company to use since I had read mostly bad reviews on most all of them. The realtor representing the person that bought my house in Reno recommended Sierra Moving Systems and I am thankful that she did. Moving wasn't the horror story I had been expecting. In fact it was just the opposite thanks to Sierra Moving Systems. I was comfortable with the entire process from the estimate through my furniture arriving in Las Vegas. The price was a little higher than some of the other estimates i had been given, but for the service I received, that wasn't a problem at all. My move included packing by the company and that saved me a lot of time. The packers were careful to pack everything in plenty of paper and were able to keep similar items together, saving me a lot of time when I unpacked after moving into my new home. The packers were also clean and courteous and were careful not to damage anything. The Reno movers came the day after the packers and were equally courteous and efficient. My furniture and packed items arrived in Las Vegas about three days later. The Las Vegas crew was just as good as the Reno crew. There was one person that seemed to be in charge of the move, both in Reno and Las Vegas and he was the person that was driving the truck with my furniture. I wish I could remember his name because I would personally like to thank him for the great job he did with both ends of the move.

All movers hate moving out of Turnberry Towers, in their defense. The experience was not a good one. They came to the condo and worked on getting packed and then they left early in the day without finishing. The original plan was to pack a full day and then the next day actually do the moving out. When I questioned them about leaving, they said they will be back tomorrow. The next day the lead guy was not one that showed up. They forgot their packing papers and the boxes were already there. So nothing to protect the art and the lamps from damage. The guy that did the estimating, before this whole process started, suggested I buy insurance since I owned art and other pieces being too valuable to not insure. They ended up damaging 3 pieces of art and other items such as a very expensive lamp, a sculptured stand and they also broke some of my dishes. I turned in the actual claim on time since I had damaged pieces and the woman that was in charge of my claim was very slow in respose. I eventually gave up! I called the claims department at least 3 times and even called the owner, I never got any compensation whatsoever. The owner was nice and said the "Kim will take care of it", but she never did and still nothing to this day.

The move was very disorganized, and in our opinion, done in very unprofessional manner. They had two separate trucks move our things at two different times. It took too long, and there were several large boxes that were lost. They never located these boxes, and never compensated us for that. This should have been an easy move for them, because we did not bring the majority of our furniture. For some reason, it wasn't.

Sierra Moving Systems did a wonderful job moving us. They did the move in just one trip. They followed our requests and directions and put all of our belongings exactly where we wanted them. We didn't have anything come up missing or broken.

Sierra Moving Systems did a very good job moving me. Everything was packed well and protected during the move. As with any move you kind of expect something to get damaged, but nothing was damaged that wasn't easily fixed. I was very pleased, and it only took them 2 days to move me. I didn't know what it cost for the move because my company paid for it.

Sierra Moving Systems delivered everything on time, and I didn't have to pay for storage until I picked up my things. Everything went smooth except they broke the bottom pedestal of my table by trying to take the top off. They sent me to a place for repairs, but I had to deliver it myself. All they did was glued it and ruined my table. I will not use them again because they broke my table.

The movers were prompt and loaded everything in quick order. Their behavior was decent, and everything seemed professional. The move took a total of a day and a half, with a fairly decent price. When we started paying attention, a couple of days after the move, however, we started to notice a great deal of broken pieces. This included furniture we valued. We were never compensated for this, and ended up buying all new furniture.

Sierra Moving Systems did a great job moving our belongings. We didn't run into any problems at all with this company. They followed our directions and instructions very well. They took everything to our home and unloaded it for us. We had all the boxes marked for certain rooms and they did an excellent job getting the boxes and the furniture in the right rooms.

Mayflower didn't do a very good job for us. It took them about two weeks to move us. They had damaged a lot of my belongings and they had lost a few items. We still are waiting for the reimbursement from them for our damaged and lost items. I was not impressed with them at all.( Wrong #- Please remove this #)

This was my first major, long distance move, and everything went great. The movers arrived with my property on time, and helped organize it in my new home. There was some minor damage, but nothing out of the ordinary for a moving project of this distance. If I decide to move long distance again, Sierra is the company I would call.

The movers were extremely well organized during the move, making a stressful time much easier on us. The trip was very long, and they arrived approximately when they said they would, and also helped us situate in our new setting. There was no damage to our furniture, and no items left behind, or lost.
