Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

It went excellently and we are so happy about how this ended. he was here for 45 minutes and did not charge us anything because the problem had resolved itself and he was just verifying that everything was okay. We thought it would cost us a lot but it turned out the blockage in the pipe had cleared itself overnight. Still, we could have been charged a trip charge, and we were not.

Jimmy came out and walked in smelling like cigarette smoke, which my mother and I are allergic to, so I did not appreciate that. He then proceeded to tell me without even inspecting the clogged drain that it would cost $189. When I began asking him questions about the price and service he was rude and very impatient. I informed him I also had a $20 off coupon on my phone and he told me it had to be printed off. I said I would call the office to check and he cut me off stating the coupon is for plumbing service not drain cleaning so it would only be $10 off. At that point I asked him to leave as I would not be using their services.

He was prompt and professional. The cost of the diagnosis seemed a bit high, but we were satisfied with his work.

I knew we had a problem when the upstairs kitchen sink started backing up into the tub. I called Roto-Rooter and they sent Joey out to investigate. When he found mud on the snake we both knew it was bad. After some further investigation with a pipe camera it was determined that I had to replace an 8 foot section of the underground sewer line beneath my downstairs bathroom. I rented a jackhammer and spent a day digging up the old line then Joey came back, cut it out and replaced it. Job well done and I could not have asked for a more friendly and professional plumber. Thanks!

I would use them again. It cost me more than I would have expected, but the technician offered a senior discount and I was happy about that.

The plumber arrived 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. We found the flange had warped in the floor which was why the toilet would sit flat. To replace the collar would have cost $1300.00+ had would require them to dig up the floor. Lou was able to sit the toilet flat using a few shims and some extra washers. He completed the job in less than an hour. We were quite satisfied with the service provided.

Over the past year we had a couple of different instances where the sewer backed up at our house. Naturally this never happened during regular business hours. Roto rooter responded to our calls for help quickly and was able to restore us to good working order. Once was on a weekend and another time at midnight. Responders were efficient, helpful and courteous. They were able to determine that the sewer main had actually sagged over the years under the slab of the house. At first we were put off by the estimate to fix this,and got another estimate to repair which was lower but had many "escape clauses" such as "if the pipe is deeper than initially estimated work will cease and the price will be renegotiated". Because of this I contacted Roto rooter and asked if I could come in and talk to them and they were happy to meet with me. I met worth Scott Maxfield and Jamie Clay in the office at Big Run Road here in Lexington. They were very professional and in the end I went with Roto-rooter because of how I was treated in the office. My wife said how impressed she was with them and we agreed that they would start work on Monday. On Friday I got a call from Jamie who asked if her might start a bit early and came on Sunday to tape up plastic and start jack hammering out the slab. He worked for several hours and was able to get the section exposed and noted something that could not have been foreseen. The pipe was actually on bedrock and in order to achieve the appropriate pitch there would be extensive additional work outside the house. This took place on Monday and required work in torrential downpours. Between cloudbursts there was more jack hammering and digging. Jamie and his assistant Russell worked many extra hours on Monday and were able to complete what turned out to be much more than anticipated into a successful day in spite of very adverse circumstances. On Tuesday both county and state inspectors came and our job site was passed. The concrete now could be replaced and this was done much faster and with little difficulty by Jamie and Russell. The job site was cleaned, all sidewalks hosed and within a short time - other than a fully functioning sewer system- you would not have known they were there. There was no extra changes for all of the additional work and I thanked them repeatedly for everything they did. I was so happy I had not gone with the more "open ended" contract which in retrospect would have been far more expensive. The job was done quickly, correctly and for the agreed upon price. Inspected sewer line under and said there was a leak in the concrete. Said they would have to charge a $10,000. Got a second opinion and was told that wasn’t case.

Arrived on time and quickly ascertained that the blockage was between the house and the sewer line. Used a large, heavy duty, mechanical snake to unclog the line (about 90 feet). This was a much larger snake than I could have rented at a local rental store. Cleaned up afterward and gave suggestions to help keep the line unclogged in the future.

Joey from Roto-Rooter was great! He was on-time, polite, friendly and explained everything to me that needed to be done to fix my leaking toilet in terms I could understand! He was also very clean and even wore shoe covers when we came inside!!! I was very pleased with the service he provided and will most certainly be using Roto-Rooter in the future!!!

I called on a Sunday morning and had them out at my home the same day--a weekend and no extra charge! If I had known I would have called on Saturday! They were scheduled to come at 1pm..but I got a call about 1pm that they had an emergency run and they asked me if it would be ok if they came after that--they called me about 2 hrs later and were there less than 20min later. They fixed my problem very quickly and cleaned up after themselves. The gentleman that came was very professional, friendly and got the job done.

They did pretty good. Their price was very reasonable. They didn't do anything bad, although one of the toilets are kinda wanky but they're coming over to fix it so it was no big deal. They are one of the best plumbers we ever dealt with. He was fast, he had just done it for 4 hours. For me, they are a very good company. They also provide a clean service. When they had finished their service, they clean and there would be no mess afterwards.

I had them out twice. The first time they fixed the main line and did a great job removing the blockage. The next time the washing machine wasn't draining right. He told me it wasn't the main line but the service line ant it would be another $200. I had a 6 month warranty but the technician was willing to apply the credit to the service line. The technician said he couldn't do it and left. I ended up removing the blockage on my own with a rod.

At 8 am, Sunday morning I called Roto-Rooter after checking Angie's list and Roto's website. The service tech Dave called me at 8:10 am and we discussed my problem. He arrive in about 30 minutes. Dave cabled the sewer line open. He included the video scoping in the price, which was very informative. The video showed the clog was from roots entering the top of a previous repair joint. To avoid future clogs, Dave suggest that I periodically treat the sewer with a Root Distoryer product. Dave, also, informed me of Roto- Rooter Pipe Shield and gave me a sample to try. Dave was very professional and his suggestions to avoid future problems is appreciated.

They were very courteous and prompt. They came at night and didn't charge me overtime. It was very nice to work with someone who actually cares about the customer. They accidentally broke my sink faucet and the guy had me go buy another which he replaced the next day and reimbursed me for. I would definitely hire them again.

Sewer line was stopped and we used Roto-Rooter. Initial visit they charged us $326.00. Two days later, they had to return. And two after that, they sent the worker who came the first time, His first statement upon arriving was "this is ridiculous". He called his supervisor who called and stated they needed to put a clean out in the front yard and the cost would be $2300.00 but they would apply the initial amount we had paid to that amount. They placed the clean out (took about two hours) and cleaned out the line. They used a camera and found that a joint had slipped off. They charged another $2000 to fix the pipe that had slipped. Total amount of work took about 4 hours. A $1000 an hour is their charge!

The drain clog was tough to clear. The technician was determined, experienced and professional. He told me the cost up front and honored the quote upon completion. My family of 4 could not use any plumbing until this problem was fixed. This problem arose at 6:30 PM on a Friday night. The after hours fee was only $30.00.

I didn't really like him. It was really expensive. It was like $40 or $50 just for them to come over. He was professional and nice.

They came out quickly which is why I thought I might use them but their estimate-and they made is seem like this was my only option and that it had to be done, was for $1500. I ended up going with another company that only charged $450. I talked to a few other people and found out that they overcharged.
