"Mic" from Rakeman came out within 4 hours of my service request and did an excellent job installing everything for an incredibly fair price. That morning I had a scheduled appointment with another company whom I thought would do the job until I heard their estimate cost of $676.00. With Sears coming the next day to deliver a new electric range I frantically started searching Angies for another company. So glad I called Rakeman. Their prices are affordable and reasonable. I will use them again in the future.

After calling another company who did not show up, I called Rakeman. I placed the call at 8:30 am on a Monday morning to set up an appointment. I was told that I would receive a call back 30 minutes before the repairman was ready to head to my house. I received the call at 10 am. Tommy, the repairman arrived promptly 30 minutes later. He was very nice, courteous and professional. He verified that the items I had called about needed to be replaced and went to work. He finished everything in about an hour, which is what I was quoted for the garbage disposal alone, which made me happy that I didn't have to spend more money for extra labor to repair the toilet. I also provided a coupon from Angie's List which gave me 15% off labor. I was very happy with the entire experience. My only regret is that I didn't call Rakeman first! Their prices were great, substantially lower than many other places I had called when looking for quotes. I wouldn't hesitate to call them back should I ever require plumbing services again.

The did a great job replacing my heater with a quality replacement. The price was a little steep buy I would recommend them as a quality company.

I needed repairs so that the utilities could be used. I made the phone call in the morning and that afternoon the repairs were made. Along with the repairs he gave suggestions to other plumbing questions I had. I very much appreciated Bill's professional help!

The house had a sewer blockage. Another company came out to snake it, but found a hard obstruction that they could not remove after multiple tries. We called Rakeman after hours to make an appointment for the next day to run a camera to find out where the blockage was. The next day, they came as promised. When Junior arrived, he was efficient and gracious. He offered to snake the line before running the camera, in case he could move the obstruction. We agreed, and he was able to do that and cleared the line successfully all the way to the street connection. Then he offered (but did not insist) to run the camera as well to see what the situation was. We agreed to that as well, and he showed us the video screen as he ran the camera, explaining exactly what we were seeing and what it might mean in terms of the line. He gave us an estimate on the larger repair that could be done, but also gave us recommendations about what to do to avoid problems if we did not choose to do the larger repair. I felt that he gave us detailed and balanced information so we could make our decisions. I will certainly use Rakeman Plumbing and recommend them to others in the future.

They were very good. The technician did not have the right part with him to fix the problem but for him to go out and get the part would have cost us more money; so he tightened things and told my husband what part to get, thus saving us an extra $150. When the part had to be delivered he showed my husband what he needed to do, so he was a handy guy; instead of coming out and charging us yet another $100 the guy actually saved us a couple of hundred bucks.

Very cooperative - tech showed up n time, went the extra mile to complete repairs.

Guys did a good job, but needed to be managed. A little slow to respond as well. Overall though, they did a good job on the install and I would use them again.

I called Rakeman plumbing because of my previous positive experience with them. I needed an estimate to fix a few things in my home. They were professional and arrived on time. However, after thier assesment of the "fixes", and the estimate of $500, I decided to get a second estimate. I got a friend that I know every well, and he said that I didn't need to replace anything as I was told by Rakeman plumbing, he said that the water softner just needed to be flushed and recharged, and the water heater needed to be adjusted. It took him less than 10 minutes to get everything in working order.

I am very satisfied with their work. I have no problems at all. I would recommend them to others.

This is my 4th service call to Rakeman Plumbing. I keep returning because they are timely, efficient, friendly and respectful. All three technicians (Terry, Corky and Tommy) that have been to my houses have been very knowledgeable. I ask a lot of questions (yes, it can be annoying, I know) but, they each took the time to explain in detail, what was needed and why. Corky, taught me how to solder pipes together so that I could repair something, I wanted to do on my own. It only took him about 5 minutes to show me how, and my repair is still holding, with no leaks, 4 years later. I called on Thursday at 4:10pm, the receptionist said they could get out to my house that same day, a scheduler would call me to confirm an arrival time. The scheduler called at 4:25pm and said the plumber would be there in approximately 15 minutes. (See what I mean about Fast). On this current call, Tommy was the plumber. He arrived at my house at 4:40pm, He was neat in appearance and his truck was clean and looked cared for. He energetically introduced himself and asked what the problem was. I explained that my clog was moving around from one area of the house to another. One week the clog would originate in the laundry room. That clog would clear up and then it would clog in the bathroom and clog the toilets, but not the showers or the laundry room. Then it would move back to the laundry room AND would clog the showers but not the toilets. It was very frustrating. For 2 weeks, I attempted to fix it with chemicals (approximately $80 worth of Lye, Gels and Foaming products) I finally gave up and called Rakeman. Tommy performed a series of listening tests and discovered where the clog was originating from. He snaked the laundry room drain and the main drain outside the house. He tested everything again and all is working great, again. Total time, about an hour and a half. Would I hire them again... Most Definitely! On top of that, I got a 15% discount for my Angie's membership, so the bill actually came out to about $155.

It went great. He arrived when promised. He fixed the leaks and put in the disposal. After ten days, everything is still ok.

The plumber was very nice and professional. He arrived at the scheduled time and called to let me know he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem, a large crack in a pipe under our kitchen sink. He did not have the proper sized part on his truck, but called the shop and someone drove out with the correct piece. He did not charge me for the waiting time, which I appreciated. However, I had a another problem with a toilet that needed to be fixed, and instead of working on that problem while waiting for the part (which took about 40 minutes) he waited in his truck for the part. He did address the toilet problem once the kitchen sink was fixed, but it did not seem like an efficient use of time. He could not complete the work on my toilet because he did not have the parts to fix the shut off valves on our manifold. He said he would order them and then let me know when they arrived. I never received any phone calls or follow up though about the parts on order. I have yet to follow up because I had to leave town. I will be checking on it in the next week or so. The overall experience was good though and I am happy with the completed work. I believe the price was fair and Terry was pleasant and professional and I hope to get our other issue fixed using their services.

I appreciated the office quoting me prices on the phone and confirming that I could use the Angie's List coupon. I was able to schedule service on a day that was convenient for me. Our service technician, Mic, worked quickly and efficiently and was done in less than 90 minutes. He clearly knew what he was doing and did not waste time to drive up the price of the bill, as some companies might do. We were so impressed with our final price (we got 15% off with Angie's List coupon) but the price was more than fair even before the coupon was applied. This was one of the few times that I felt a service provider was not trying to take advantage of us. Rakeman Plumbing helped me end a crazy, frustrating week on a great note; I would highly recommend them to others.

Very good communication during the telephone question and answer part i.e. how much is this option or that option. Got specific answers. Plumber "Corky" was on time, clean, considerate, hard worker. He found hidden problems under toilet, deterioration. He showed problems, was apologetic, and said what had to be done. This was no up sell or scam, just hidden damage. I could see the deteriorated metal and wood parts for myself. Corky worked hard, got parts needed, and clocked out everytime he took a break or waited for parts. He told me exact work, step by step and kept exact track of work times, what was going on, and was concerned to to good and fair job. It is extremely rare to see a worker and attitude like this.

Excellent service at a reasonable cost. If you want to call someone who will answer promptly, tell you what they'll do and when they'll do it, then actually follow the plan, and call you 1/2 hour or so before they're coming so your whole day isn't tied up sitting around and waiting, this is who to call.

They did fine. I knew about them because I had a neighbor that worked for them. They were prompt and on time. Their price was comparable. They were good.

Not good......I was quoted a price of $1850.00 to install a new water main from meter to house, or $650.00 to dig and just do a repair on where line was leaking. I called another company who came out and quoted me a price of $150.00 and that includes two hours of labor to try and locate the problem to determine what repairs are needed. Guy arrives at 6:00am and true to his word, he was done at 6:50 and informed me it was a lousy repair job and he dixed the leak. I had the line repaired about 12 years ago for $1200.00 bucks, evidently they just installed a rubber hose and called it "REPAIRED". So I saved quite a bit by shopping around! It astounds me over the years how quotes can vary so drastically.

They always give me a senior citizen discount. I have been using them for many years. They are all licensed plumbers. They are all very experienced and have a lot of knowledge about older homes.
