I was initially referred to these folks by Par 3, a commercial landscaping company that does not do residential. I spoke with a lady there [name withheld], told her what my service requirements were and what I would be willing to pay for regular monthly service. She took it to her estimator and got back to me with a ridiculous MINIMUM rate of $120 for a single visit per month. I told her they were out of their mind with this rate, and that it was not competitive with market rates for this area. I said goodbye and hung up the phone. Moments later, she took it upon herself to call me back and accused me of being rude. I told her, on the contrary; I just felt her rates were outrageous, and said goodbye. I later learned that she went out her way to investigate who owns my property, and placed an unwanted call to my landlord in Texas to vent about my not liking their rates and that I was rude to her, for whatever that would accomplish. He advised her that he fully trusts my judgment as a long-time tenant. He couldn't believe that someone in her position would exceed her role and make this kind of call to his office. It was never her place to do this; in fact, grossly unprofessional and outright harassment - since I make the call about whom to hire and I foot the bill. At no time when we talked did I give her permission to call my landlord, nor do I ever recall telling her whether or not I was the tenant or owner. Very unethical and out-of-line to do this, IMO. I intend to lodge a formal complaint with the local contractor's board over this.
