Merry Maids of Minden

Pretty well. We were not entirely satisfied with the job, but the owner is very interested in making things right.

I called a week ago to get an estimate from Merry Maids on a one-time deep cleaning for my 1600 square feet, three bed two bath house. The woman that answered was pleasant, asked me a lot of questions about the services I wanted, as well as the size and condition of the house. I indicated that we would have the and quot;clutterand quot; picked up and wanted a thorough cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, baseboards wiped, bathrooms and kitchen cleaned, etc. The woman indicated that this would be no problem, and recommended that she send two cleaners for four hours at $75/hour. She also said that if they got done early, I would only be charged for the actual time. I received an automated confirmation call 24 hours prior to the service, as promised. The appointment was scheduled for 10:00AM, and the two ladies showed up at 10:47AM. At least one of them was REEKING of cigarette smoke (I am allergic, so instant headache and cough for me). I almost cancelled them right there, but had made significant logistical arrangements to be home and really wanted my house cleaned, so let them in. They asked for a tour and for me to point out anything specific that I wanted done. I told them the two things that were most important were dusting of everything, including wiping the baseboards, and cleaning out the sliding window and door tracks. Each woman proceeded to opposite ends of the house, and I took my kid outside to stay out of the way. Three hours later, they were still working in the bedroom/bathroom areas of the house, and had yet to start on the kitchen and great room area. Finally, I heard vacuuming, and about ten minutes later they said they were done. I went back in for the and quot;unveilingand quot; and the woman in charge immediately started apologizing for not getting much dusting done in the great room area. She did point out how proud she was of the master bathroom. I thanked them for their time and service as they were clearly eager to leave but then did my own inspection. The did two out of seven window/door tracks. Most of the great room, including the TV and piano were not dusted. There was still dirt on the floor in the kitchen. No windows were cleaned on the inside, i.e. toddler hand and dog nose prints were glaringly obvious. I had to take out my own dust wipes and get to work to finish the job. NOT what I was expecting after two people/four hours/$300. Granted the bathrooms were very clean- but does it really take three hours to clean a bathroom? I know my house needed a deep clean- that is why I hired them. Under the circumstances I would have expected and appreciated a much more thorough job. Except for the bathrooms, I could have spent about an hour dusting and vacuuming and gotten the same or better results myself. To me, and quot;deep cleanand quot; means 100% sparkle and shine. This is not what I got from Merry Maids.

I am very happy with them they did a wonderful job. They are responsive and the service they provided were very good.
