Description of Work: We needed our fireplace serviced since we only lived here 8 months, and we've never tried to start it. The deal was for $59 to get fireplace serviced and furnaces checked. It was December 21st at 6:22 AM when I bought the deal and wanted it done before Christmas. Even with the short time frame, the company emailed me at 8 AM that day and set up the service to be completed on the 23rd. I was very happy with their punctuality and responsiveness. I was even more relieved when they said everything was in good shape. The serviceman showed me how to use the fireplace and walked me through what he was doing while I watched over his shoulder.

Description of Work: I had called them on 4/11/2013 to find out the cost of cleaning the air ducts, evaportor coil cleaning and dryer duct cleaning. They told me the cost would be $350. They made an appointment for 4/12/2013 at 1p.m.. On 4/12/2013 I received a call from Mike at 11 a.m. saying he could come early if it was okay. I told him it was and he said he would be here in 15 minutes. He was here at 11:15 a.m. . He went about his work and had everything completed by 1:45 p.m..

Description of Work: Spoke with Ron the phone about cleaning air ducts and dryer vent. He was very courteous and helpful. He sent someone out the next day named Fernie. This young man was also very courteous and appeared to be thorough. He cleaned all air ducts and the dryer vent. Took his time - did not rush. Would definitely recommend them to my friends as well as use them again myself.

Description of Work: First of all, I have to mention that I did not do due dilligence (whch Angie List encourages) with this company. I simply bought the Angie List Big Deal for 175 dollors when it hit by inbox. Shame on me. I have been spoiled by the service I was provided on previous Angie List BIG DEALS. Had I checked Angies List and found out that no reports had been made by this company I never would have bought the BIG DEAL. We scheduled the appoint for 1PM. The technician arrived at 10 PM without calling ahead of time to determine it is would be acceptable to us. We told him the appointment was for 1 PM. He did not appoligize. Instead he retorted that the appointment was scheduled for 11 AM. This was not true. I personnally put the scheduled appoint on our family planning calendar as soon as I got off the phaone having made the appointment. We are not confrontational people, so we asked the technition what he needed from us to get him to do the job. He did not walk us through what exactly he was going to do or why he was doing what he was doing. About 45 minutes later, he came down from attic to tell us that there was some awful things going on up there that we needed to take care of and that was going to be another 150.00 provided we did it right now. (This I found out was a Company Policy for residential customers. When I talk to the company later, they said that upsell service would normally be $300.00) The technician definitely had an advantage because we aren't experts in his field, but we knew we didn't want those awful things giong on up there. So, we agreed for the technician to take care of those awful things for $150.00. Ten minutes later, the technician came down and said he had completed the task. So in essence we paid him at a rate of $900.00 / hour to get rid of those awful things up there. Well I started having buyer's remorse and after the fact went to the National Airduct Cleaning Association (NADCA). This association lists this company of being a member as of June or July of 2011. The company has one certified technician. That technician was not the one that visited us. The NADCA has customer education videos I would recommend to anyone who wants to get their Airducts Cleaned. Based on the information on the NADCA, VEGAS VALLEY AIR DUCT could only be characterised as a BLOW and Go outfit. For those customers not familiar with that term, it means stay away from them.
