They did a no call, no show on scheduled repair, twice. No courtesy call or call back. Then they sent me a bill, more than the estimate, for work that was never completed. I found another company that did awesome work for a third of the price. Stay away from this company.

I had water damage from a leaking bathroom skylight that had progressed over more than ten years. Family medical priorities resulted in foregoing repairs for too long, hence my homeowners insurance would not touch this. My wife's illnesses were severe enough that I could not consider getting the work done without further complicating her conditions. When my wife passed away in April, I made the decision to proceed with the necessary work before any further damage occurred. My son-in-law recommended Ute Construction, because he had personal good relations with them, and he assured me they were top notch professionals. I let them know that I was paying out-of-pocket for the work. Mr. Ed Mahoney of Ute Construction came by, looked it over and offered to work with me on restoring my bathroom and working with me on costs. Ute and their associated subs were extremely professional, and the work progressed in a timely manner, with a few small delays, which are expected anytime there involves subs and materials. I cannot overemphasize the professionalism and quality of work. All the workers were friendly, helpful and involved me in every step of the way. They did not cut corners on work quality or materials, but did streamline the costs for me, which is very much appreciated. I would recommend Ute Construction to anyone who wants quality work, a fair price, and results in a timely manner. I was very lucky that my son-in-law recommended Ute.

Michael Kelly came out to give us a bid on restoring my studio which had water damage from the rain on April 9th. I've been running around getting bids that makes both myself and my insurance happy. Michael had an excellent idea which I liked a lot and was anxious to receive his bid. He came on Thursday May the 5th. That bid never came. I have called, text, left message after message and he refuses to answer my calls. I'm truly baffled. Why would you ignore a customer completely? For a company who has been in business in this town as long as they have, I guess they just don't want anyones business anymore. Maybe my job was too small for them. Shame on them.

The house was vacant and had been broken into and the wiring and plumbing ripped out. Ute Construction took over the entire job. They met with us and the insurance agent several times and explained exactly what needed to be done and coordinated with the plumber for those repairs also.

Phillip Bailey came to the house and gave an estimate. After reviewing it I called to eliminate certain items. I left a couple of messages before he called back and he then sent a revised estimate which I called back to accept, and again left a few messages but he never returned my calls. I found that unusual as he did all the work in drawing up diagrams and doing all the line items for work to be performed. All that was left to do was collect the check and have me sign the contract. He seemed disinterested all along and kept saying there's not much benefit in doing what I asked. I found another company that didn't seem to mind doing the job and it's exactly what I wanted for very near the same price Phillip quoted. If I were the owner of that company I wouldn't want my employees turning down business especially after doing all that was needed to be done on his part, even it was $5000.00. PS: That's just the beginning, I'm redoing the whole house.

This is a responce to the infomation and grade given by this member. I am sorry that she feels this way about our company, but I never said I was turning this over to a different dept, I said I was turning this over to a different sub-contractor that specialized in shower repair that she needed. I emailed her contact information sheet along with photos to Las Vegas Flooring on 12/5/14 @ 1:59pm to work dirrectly with her. I let (Member name removed) know at the time I inspected her home that the shower looked looked like new, but it was leaking and she needed to have someone that specialized in shower repairs. I was trying to help her as she had just purchased the home and it had this problem. Kasee with the LVF did not recive my email and never contacted her so this is what caused us to get an F for performance. As far as the multiple phone messages she said she left I never received one. If I had received one message I would have instructed Kasee to call her or I would have given (Member name removed) Kasees cell phone number to call direct. Mike Kelly V.P. Ute Inc.

Our front entry sustained serious water damage. We had a roofer company come to replace and fix roof. Ute's job was to take out damaged interior and replace. I have a lower window to the side and a top window above the door in my entry. Ute told me they would take all the wallboard out as far up as there was water damage. Unfortunately, they didn't take it up far enough and I am still receiving water damage in that area from a window above the area they worked on. Over four grand later and I still have the same problems. The roof company has been out and they say it is coming from the window not the roof. The finish work was sloppy at best as they did not blend the new patch with they existing wall. The stucco is rough and does not match the existing stucco. The paint on the window sill and the metal window flashing looks like they were blind folded when they painted it. II had them come out and try to fix it the big holes they left but I still have a few small holes in the wall. So if you like that kind of workmanship then I guess it will work for you, but it does not work for me. Hire them if you have lots of time and money to waste!

Ute construction was hired to do a mold remediation and the post remediation interior water damage repairs. The mold remediation, air testing and the clearance report was $2600.00 of this contract. Ute inc. was not hired and or responsible for any exterior stucco, roof repairs, waterproofing or water testing. This was a seperete contact with another contractor. Our work completion certificate was signed off by [Member name removed] on 5/9/2014. At that time on our completion certificate he rated our performance - Punctuallity - Excellent, Speed / Efficiency - Excellent, Explain Procedures - Good, Cleanliness - Excellent, Courtious & Helpful Excellent, Professionalism - Good and Workmanship - Average. We did apologized to the owners that the job did not go as well as well as it should have and we are sorry that they had another event. Also I understand having all that costly work damaged again by another rain storm is very frustrating, but this compaint should be directed to the company that did all of the exterior repairs and water testing.

I called Mike about some drywall repairs we needed done in several rooms in our home. Because our job was fairly small, he had his drywall guy, Javier, contact me directly. Javier came over on a Thursday, gave me an estimate and said they would be there on Monday to do the job. Monday, Arturo and another man came over and patched all the spots we needed done. The next day, they returned to paint them all. This required them buying three different colors of paint to match our walls and ceilings. They did a great job, but a couple of days later we noticed a spot on our ceiling that looked like an obvious patch. Arturo came back over within a day or so, resurfaced it and then returned in two days to paint it again. It all looks great! They were very professional and did a great job.

Mike gave us a fair estimate and said they could start the job on Monday. Blake came early on Monday, as requested, he put up plastic to prevent the dust from entering the other rooms and then began to repair the wall and ceiling. He worked all day by himself and did an excellent job. The next morning he finished the job. He matched the paint exactly, no one could tell any work was even done. He cleaned everything up, never stopped working and is a one man wonder. Ask for Blake if you need any work done, you won't be disappointed.

I have used Ute before when I needed repair work following a large plumbing leak....they did an excellent job. So when I needed similar work done following a different plumbing job I called them again. Phillip came out and inspected the damage then provided a detailed estimate. I accepted their offer. Work was scheduled and Carlos arrived on time. He worked quietly, efficiently and completed the work as scheduled. He matched the paint colors and textures exactly. He was very careful mask and cover all our belongings and the floors and cleaned up following the job. I am once again extremely happy with the results. Maybe a little pricey, but if you want professional work, you need to hire professionals. I highly recommend Ute.

I had water damage to my rental property due to a burst pipe. This cascaded into an Asbestos and Mold remediation. After working with another contractor and getting no where for 3 months, I contacted UTE. They came over and inspected what needed to be done and had a detailed proposal in 24 hours. They worked directly with my property management company and insurance company to make sure that everything was repaired as efficiently as possible. As you can imagine, trying to work with a service provider from a distance is very difficult. Needless to say, UTE stepped up to the plate in every instance. I am VERY pleased with the results. The quality of the workmanship is beyond reproach. I highly recommend them

Mina was our service technician. She arrived on time and was very courteous. She answered all our questions. She worked most of the day non-stop. My wife and I could not believe how well the job turned out at the end of the day. Mina did a fantastic job blending and feathering-in the texture to match the rest of the ceiling. It is impossible to see where the repair was made. To save a little money my wife and I will re-paint the area ourselves. We are very pleased with the result. We highly recommend Mina and Ute Construction. We will be sure and call on this company in the future for needed repairs.

Two different workers performed the work. One performed all work associated with mold remediation, which included setting up the tent and blower, removing drywall and cleaning the area to remove mold spores, and removing the tent after the final mold inspection was completed. Another worker completed the remaining work, which involved repairing and painting drywall and installing and painting the new door. The new door will be more resistant to water damage on the door surface since it is constructed of steel. All work was done in a professional manner and the workers were very approachable and open to discussing anything. I received a 5% discount for being an Angie's List member.
Description of Work: An exterior door to my garage developed a leak during heavy rains near a bottom corner of the door. This resulted in drywall near the floor becoming wet and developing visible mold. Ute Construction removed the necessary sections of drywall and performed the mold remediation. They then installed new drywall in those areas and repainted. They also removed and installed a new door and all associated molding and weather stripping. The final work involved painting the new door inside and out, and installing the hardware to include a new deadbolt that did not exist on the old door.

I gave them great grades. The job was done. Everybody was happy. We were happy and I thought they were happy and then out of the blue, they called saying we owe them several thousand dollars. I bought some of the products that the contractors installed and the boss guy said that it will count as part of the bill. They sent us a final bill and we signed it and wrote them a check and all that but months later, they wanted several thousands more. My wife was upset so she called the insurance company and the insurance company told us to send them a check for the deductible and she did just to get it done so they got an extra thousand out of us that really was pretty sleazy. I would do a follow up assessment of them just warning people to make sure to get everything in writing. The only thing I can think of is they finally did their paperwork or something and had forgotten that the customer supplied some of the materials and stuff. We bought about 2500 in the material and the guy who was here bidding the job said that they will count it toward the deductible and then some will be subtracted from the cost and then they acted like it hadn't happened. Every night when they're gone, we did the painting and I did the electrical and I bought the shower pan and a lot of things like that. I bought the fixtures, cabinets and the granite myself so they just did the big stuff. I don't know if a new guy moved it and didn't remember it or if they never wrote it down. While it was going on, I kept asking the guy for my copy of the estimate and it never happened until at the end of the job. I think they would do a lot of jobs and then their accounting guy probably got to look and say that it isn't right. It was wrong.

There is a very nice grade on Angies List for our performance back when this job actaully took place last year in November. The job was completed and payment was recieved in November of 2012 so not sure why this has come up now. This was an insurance repair job and the home owner was doing a remodel at the same time. The home owner did supply some of the remodel products but we supplied the rest including the labor. The project turned out beautiful and they were very happy until we billed the $1000.00 deductible that their insurace company would not pay. We do try to make all customers happy, but that is not always possible.

Mr. Kelly came out immediately when I called his company. We explained to him that another company had been out to the house several times to repair a leaky pipe. They had already charged us over a thousand dollars and had not repaired the pipe! In addition , every time they came back , having NOT fixed the problem, they charged us another hundred and twenty dollars just to come out to the house!. We were getting a mouldy smell from a bathroom inside the house and were afraid that the pipe was now leaking under the house. Mr. Kelly was professional and expert, explaining to us that the mouldy smell was coming from a seldom used shower drain and not because of a leak in the ceiling or under the floor. He looked at the leaky pipe and told us how we could solve the problem ourselves with a thirty dollar repair! He told us what to do to solve the problem and did not charge us for the visit. We will not hesitate to call UTE inc. again if we have a problem in the future!

The quality of the work was very good and when Phil, their main supervisor, got involved everything went smoothly. But there were lots of complications that led to Mr Falzone taking control of the project including: - Improperly estimating when the wood would arrive, which led to a 2 week delay - Improperly estimating how much hardwood needed to be ordered, which led to another 2 week delay. - Poor communication between management and workers which led to miscommunications as to when the workers would come, what day, etc. This led to having to live in a house of concrete and dust for 4 weeks, and other complications. I believe with better organization and communication, those delays could have been avoided. I'm giving a B because I'm pleased with the quality of the work and all the UTE workers were professional and very good and did their best, but I was disappointed with the organization by the upper management before Mr. Falzone got involved.

After the rainstorm in January, 2013, we found water on the floor in the front bedroom, and the carpet was soaked. We contacted our insurance company (AAA) to see what they could do. After many conversations and their examination of our original house inspection report they followed up on the claim. UTE came and found the leak from the ledge outside of the front bedroom. They tore out and repaired the wall and the room looked better than new. There is no doubt in our minds, this company, with all the tasks they had to do, performed in an excellent way. They come highly recommended.
Description of Work: After the mold remediation, some of the tasks performed in a timely fashion by UTE were: tearing out the top of the outside ledge where the rain leaked in, putting the wallboard in the room and top of ledge, and painting the bedroom, the garage, and outside stucco, making a perfect match with the existing paint, and putting in new carpet in the bedroom.
