(This copy belongs in the detailed services section.) We had an 8 x 15, extra height storage shed built and delivered with an oversize access door at one end (with moveable access ramps) and a 3 x 3 window in one side. Shed has wood siding, asphalt shingles, rubber flooring material, and a vented, insulated roof. Overhead and quot;loftand quot; style storage platforms/shelving. Sits on an aluminum frame for stability and protection from the elements. Was delivered and completed in one business day. Roughed out area pre-planned for self-installed AC unit. Area underneath shed leveled and cleared of debris. Top quality lumber/studs used.
Description of Work: (This copy belongs in the "How did it go overall?" section) We were spending approximately $250.00 per month for storage of some business equipment. In addition, our garage didn't provide enough space for my husband's hobby of woodworking. Our 8 x 15 Tuff Shed was delivered and built in one day, and will pay for itself in under 1 1/2 years (we've already paid storage rent for five years for our equipment!). We looked extensively at kits, but couldn't come close to our budget price, especially when considering delivery costs, missing hardware and materials, pulling permits, and pouring cement for a foundation. Our shed is very well built (heavy duty studs made of top quality lumber), and sits up on an aluminum frame, precluding the need for cement work, but insuring that the shed isn't sitting on the bare ground. It's very sturdy, doesn't creak or shift or "feel" cheap. It's level, attractive (color keyed to our house colors), and we were able to pick from lots of options as to windows, doors, and lighting ideas. We asked for a space to be roughed out for a small air conditioner that we could install later, and they were glad to do so. The ceiling and large entry door only are insulated with some thin, but high R-value material (we appreciated that we have more room between the studs to use for storage). Amazing, but with that little AC unit set to 90 degrees on the ecomony mode, our shed is cooler than a small room addition that was built onto our house years ago. It's air tight and water tight. We had "loft" style shelves built overhead for extra storage that's accessible, but plenty high enough that my husband and son aren't having to hunch over to use the space. The floor covering is easy to keep clean and far better than just the bare plywood used in most storage sheds. We chose wood siding and asphalt shingles for our shed, but could have had it stuccoed to look exactly like our house including a matching tile roof. Todd, who took care of our order and oversaw the transaction, and who also gave us lots of help and suggestions including help with the site, and the workmen who delivered and assembled our shed, were all very professional and personable; we enjoyed working with them. After seeing what's available in their catalog, and the quality of this construction, if we ever need to have a free standing garage built, or even an entire home, we'll be calling Tuff Shed first. We wish our home had been built by Tuff Shed!
