Description of Work: Planted approximately 20 new shrubs in yard and put up fencing around the ones rabbits were more likely to find tasty. Extended existing irrigation system. Dug a trench and buried conduit for a water feature, then expanded existing “rock river” to encompass it. Removed a good-sized jumping cholla, no easy task. Trimmed an extremely overgrown palm.

Description of Work: This company is top shelf all the way. We have used Juan Tover numerous times for both landscape And concrete work. I would not think of using anyone else. Thier work has always been excellent without any problems Whatsoever. Juan, himself, is courteous and punctual and always sticks by the quoted price. If there Are unseen circumstances, he will notify you before doing the work so there are no surprises. We live In a senior community with over 7,000 homes and many people here use Tovar Landscaping and I Have never heard a bad report. I recommend Tovar highly.

Description of Work: Jaun helped us landscape our 1/2 acre lot . He was easy to negotiate with concerning options, and offered suggestions that were appropriate. His crew was punctual and professional. I did step in a few times when communications lines got crossed- didn't want to see them have to re-do something. They built retaining walls and planters using large pre-cast concrete blocks. They covered the entire property with irrigation cloth before installing the rock mulch. Plants were positioned and planted, irrigation lines set up, and landscape lighting installed. Entire project took about a week.

Description of Work: We hired Tovar Landscape & Design Inc. twice. The first time, they came and just did a clean-up because the house had been completely ignored. They took out all of the dead trees and hauled everything away. When they came back the second time, it was to plant trees.

Description of Work: We decided it was time to convert our driveway to pavers. We called Juan Tovar, got a bid, and gave him the job. We didn't even shop around because of our experience -- and that of many of our neighbors -- with Juan over the past five years. We asked him if pavers would resolve the "slippery when wet" issue. He assured us it would. We told him what we had in mind and he improved upon our idea by suggesting curves. So Tovar L&D converted our driveway, walkway, front porch and DG path to pavers. They started on Monday and finished on Thursday. Juan went to the Architectural Review Committee on our behalf and obtained their written approval -- which is what he did five years ago when he did all of the landscaping on our then-new home. Five years ago we interviewed several landscapers and obtained their respective bids. I remember one of the men didn't listen to a word I said; another company had never done any work in Sun City Anthem so wasn't familiar with our particular CC&Rs; and one promised to add a wood-burning fire pit but wouldn't put it on the drawing because it's not legal! We chose Tovar because (a) Juan listened to both of us; (b) made a few very good suggestions, explaining why a particular plant or tree would be a better choice than what we had in mind; (c) had only one complaint with the BBB; (d) was licensed, etc; (e) was very familiar with the requirements of our community -- meaning, he knew what would easily be approved; (f) we liked him; and (g) his business ethics -- meaning that he didn't suggest we "trust him" to install an illegal fire pit. We were delighted with his work at that time. Over the years, we've grown even happier with our landscaping because our yard looks nice year 'round. No matter what the season, something is in bloom. He didn't plant anything that looks like crap when it's dormant; for example, lantana looks like dead barren sticks when it's not in bloom. We hired him for quarterly lawn maintenance and have continued to be happy with his service. He is very responsive. I call him on his cell phone, which he usually answers. When I leave a voice message, he calls me back promptly. If he's in the area (which he frequently is), he'll come by on a moments' notice. If his crew overlooks something during their quarterly service (no one is perfect and I am very particular), I call him and they either come back the next day or he comes himself and does it. He has NEVER copped an attitude with us, is always a gentleman, he's honest and reliable and prompt, and is just trying to keep his employees working during this severe and prolonged recession. Our original landscape was all softscape in the front, and some hardscape in the back, all of which Juan's company did. As we lived in the house and found that we entertained outside a lot, we had him back to add an additional seating area using pavers. He made a stepping stone walkway from the original stained concrete to the new paver area. We were happy with that. When we decided to add climbers in order to cover a cement block wall, we called him, he gave us a bid, and did the work to our satisfaction. When our neighbors were out of the country, something sprang a leak in their front yard. My husband didn't think he could fix it. We called Juan, explained the situation and -- even though these neighbors were not his customers -- he ran right over and fixed the problem. We tried to pay him, and he wouldn't accept any money. I highly recommend Tovar L&D for landscaping, hardscape, and routine maintenance. In fact, just today I did recommend him to new neighbors whose neglected yard needs cleaned up and weeded. A month ago, our neighbors across the street dumped their guy and switched to Juan after asking us what specifically Juan does and what he charges -- they found that Juan will charge far less to trim their trees, and his quarterly service is more extensive for less money. At the same time, my BFF who lives in Southern Highlands, had Juan bid on some clean up work. She was delighted with him, his crew and their work so she asked him to bid on quarterly service.

Description of Work: Tovar Landscape & Design does general monthly maintenance on my lawn. They do trimming, cleaning, and that kind of stuff.

Description of Work: We needed a concrete platform demolished and removed in our back yard. Once this was done, the yard needed to be planted and restored which included replacing gravel that was the same color. The restoration and planting required modifying the drip irrigation sytem and installing an additional flood light. There was also additional planting and palm tree maintenance ordered for the front yard.
