+ 0 moreSOUTHWEST SOLAR SCREENS.........The walls in our home were hot, the air was blowing our A/C like crazy, and the hot heat made our furniture absorbed and was taking in the heat!! Called 3 places to come and measure and follow our HOA rules with shade/color of screen. Angie's List proved to be perfect for our decision!! Jim, the owner, came out SAME day, 2 hours after I phoned for an appointment.....measured, gave totally low quote than other companies, had a color sample for our HOA requirements, stated he had several clients in our condo community (that made us feel good) and within 4 days, the screens on all 6 of our windows were on with swivel latches and they have kept our A/C lower, our furniture so nice to sit on next to the windows, and we have a lower energy bill ~~~ thank you Jim for being punctual, courteous, friendly, and the price was perfect!! We took several cards and passed them around!!! Highly recommend him!!! 5-star!!
Description of Work: We were in total need of solar screens for our condo with 6 windows. We had one company (over the phone) had me measure my own interior windows and then gave me a quote, then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later that week, stating then the technician would call me to set up a tentative time to come out and re-measure himself. I decided to investigate the opinions on Angie's List, myself, to see some other people's experiences. I phoned Southwest Solar Screens at 12:15 while sitting in parking lot of Target and Jim, the owner, said he could be at my place between 2 - 3 pm that same day. He came at 2:05 pm, measured, gave quote, and gave a one - two week delivery time. This all took place on a Wednesday. On Monday, Jim phoned and set up a Tuesday morning delivery, set up for us!!! What service :) Great price.....Two hundred less than previous company who had me do my own measuring. Professional, totally courteous, helpful. Excellent. We all recommend Southwest Solar Screens!! 5-star in customer service and we love how cool our interior home feels....Yay!!! Thank you, Southwest Solar Screens!! :)

Jim came out that same afternoon and gave me an acceptable estimate and arrangements were made to order the screens. We were out of town for a couple of days, and by the time we arrived back home, Jim had called and a time was set up to have the screens installed. The job was done, and we are very pleased with our purchase. It was a pleasure to do business with this company.

+ 0 moreCalled Jim for an estimate and he came over the next day and gave us a written cost sheet. That afternoon we received approval from our HOA and called Jim to confirm the order. He came the next day, did exact measurements and started the building process. One week later, he came back out and installed 8 screens on our west facing windows. This company was prompt, professional, courteous and very skilled. I will use them again if I decide to put more screens on in the future.

+ 0 moreJim arrived as scheduled to measure the windows and provide an estimate. He said it would take 7 to 10 days to fabricate the screens. He called 6 days later and said the screens were ready for installation. He came the next day to install the screens. Two screens were mis-measured. He called his shop, gave them the corrected dimensions, and returned 2 hours later with the proper screens. The installation was professional and the screens look great. They significantly reduce the solar heat and glare, especially on our west facing windows.
Description of Work: Measured and installed solar screens on all windows, replacing the old, standard screens that have been on the house for over 20 years.

+ 0 moreThey came right over gave an estimate, gave us Angie discount and took our old screens. The new screens were back in less than a week,much better than our old ones. Cost about $4 a sq foot. The new screens had clips and the old screw holes need to be filled which they did not do. Good job good price.

At that time, we made an appointment to have him come out and install them the next week. The following week the screens were installed by Jim. It took 2 weeks to have the screens custom manufactured at his plant. Screens installed by Jim in about an hour and fitted each window perfectly. House looks great with the screens. Well worth the money.

Delivery promised in 1 to 2 weeks but stated would probably only be 3 or 4 days. One week from date of measurements called to say screens built, set up date for installation. Half hour after time set for installation, phoned to say had another appointment and would arrive in about an hour. An hour and half later arrived for installation of screens. Apologized for being late. Screens installed. Fit perfectly. All is good.

After I found out that everyone wanted to charge me $1100-$1300 for the same thing Jim was going to do, it was a no brainier. Jim also had the screens done at his shop, instead of in the front of my house, and ready to install in a week. And once they were at the house, it only took them about 20 minutes to install. He was also very helpful and friendly during the whole process.
