Mark Blonstein the owner of the company was contracted to place woodbox (roses in front of the woodbox) in the backyard, behind it there would be foliage and some fruit trees. There would be lights on the front and back yard and the sprinkle system would be installed on the back yard. And grass and sprinkle would be placed in front of it. None of this was done. None. Instead Mark had 20 cats claws delivered here, no lights, no roses, no boxwood, no meter and the sprinkle system didn't work. Mark was paid to cut the trees but never did. I had to end up doing it myself, except for one tree, and I remember telling my husband how strange it was seeing his employee cutting the tree with a rusted wood saw (it took the man a long, long time). They had no equipment and lacked even the most rudimentary know-how. Silver State was paid to remove the soil and replace it and remove the stones, instead they placed all the debris that I had paid somebody else to remove back into the soil. They had no soil. no fertilizer. I had 5 bags of soil, and 3 miracle grow and told them to place in the soil. They had no plants for the borders. I removed the plants from my vases and plant them with the help of his workers. I had to leave the house in the hands of a weird crew to go to Lowes to buy from my pocket more materials The grass sat on the truck the whole day in the sun. he had 2 man that supposedly was from his company the rest were Construction workers hired from the streets that Mark picked up that day and when I pointed out that the water was going to the wood pillars on the patio instead of the plants, the worker replied "Just wrap it up with a plastic and a nail." Some of those street hired workers were drunk and Mark wasn't to be found. They also stoled a shovel. Pebbles would be placed on the corridor to cover the existing plants, but Silver State La ndscape never did. Other foliage were to be added to the corridor before the gate but it never happened. Lights were to be place there but it never happened. I had an independent gardner that had worked for 2 weeks to remove the stones by sifting and placing them on the corners against the walls, the gardner had also planted two gardens and placed a pavement. around it. The front of the house was done including the sprinklers. Mark did not place the pebbles or the foliage or the lights. Silver State job was to plant a cover ground to the left (a corridor in the entryway) and pebbles around it. At the far corner there would be a box made up with a retaining wall bricks and sand. A two rows wall was to be placed to separate our yard from the neighbors the sprinklers were already done in that area. To the right he would place pebbles or stones. None of this was done, instead Mark came here stating that he needed money and couldn't remember our contract. Unfortunately for me my husband was having a health crisis (he had been ill for quite sometime and I wanted the back yard to be finished as soon as possible so he could have some sun to aid in his recovery) I had to pay again for the 2 rows retaining wall and still Mark didn't do it. There were no pebbles, no ground cover, just stones and he went to the store and got 3 bushes and placed it there. nevertheless I took the time to buy pizzas and natural juices for the crowd. GAve Mark the money he claimed he needed to pay some bills under the understanding that I would get in return one year free maintenance on the grass and plants (feeding and cutting) The only true statement Mark made was that his client almost always cried when he finished the job and I asked "really? Wow" and he told me you have no idea of the mini jungle I'm going to place in this backyard with fruit trees and beautiful lights at night. Just le me do it. Don't worry about anything" Indeed 12 hours later I almost cried. The grass was already brown (it was never pressed enough against the soil, I suppose to take root. When I went to water there was no meter, so I used the hose. He had asked me for more money and was desperate to cash the check. I told him my bank was open until 7 at night, but all this was a scene that Mark pre-arranged. He had to deposit the check for it was nominal to his company but pretending he had cashed the check I didn't bother tto verify with the bank (I could have stopped payment at that point and should). Mark never mailed the receipt of payment or the contract but he was found by the criminal investigator in CAlifornia and will have to respond for his criminal activities. UPDATE- The contractors board has taken Mark to court.
Description of Work: Grass, stones, sprinklers, plants. A criminal investigator from the from the Nevada State Contractors located Mark, the owner of the company in CAlifornia. The cost went from $3,760 to $5,466.00. The original contract was for $3.080.00. To make matters worse, it had to be re-done.
