The serviceman spent 5 minutes here and told me the machine was unfixable. He didn't even pull it out to check where the leak was. He said I needed to buy a new machine and he charged me $89 HE WAS WRONG! I got so ripped off!

This summer we escaped the heat for two months and left our house at a constant 85 degrees. When we returned on a Friday, we turned on the fridge and guess what? It didn’t work. This was after we bought $200 worth of groceries because we had just returned. In a panic, (aren’t you always when the fridge goes out?), we called Same Day Service on Monday. They came out the same day (that’s good), and told us the compressor relay was bad, and it would cost $450 and a week to fix it. He told us refrigerators these days just don’t last, and you’re lucky if they last a year. He said he had been repairing refrigerators for over 25 years, and they just aren’t like they used to be. Did I mention we had to pay $90 for his diagnosis? Over the weekend, we bought one of those dorm room mini-fridges, and being Labor Day, we decided to price out new fridges. We found a $1000 deal and bought it with a 5 year warrantee. When they delivered the new fridge, I didn’t let them take the old one, because I thought I might cut it up and salvage a lot of the parts inside for a project I have ongoing. After a while, I decided it wasn’t really going to work out for my project, and I wondered if I might be able to fix it myself and sell it. I chatted with the internet Sears parts department, and I bought a new relay for $32, $46 delivered with a 90 day return guarantee (no shipping if it didn’t work out.) I decided to try. Today, it took me 5 minutes to snap in the new relay, and the fridge works perfectly. It just makes my blood boil to be taken advantage of. Don’t ever ever call this company if something breaks!
