Description of Work: We researched the top-rated solar system installers and got quotes from Robco and its nearest competitor. The competition came in with a slightly lower bid, but we chose Robco for the following reasons: | |1) Robco's roof mount and racking system is, by far, more robust. Lenny Clark brought in the actual roof mounts and when I asked the competitor if he could do likewise, the response was an embarrassing "no". The mounting system is not only more robust, but it didn't require removing tiles that had to be replaced with sheet metal flashing. My neighbor chose the other installer and this was not explained to them. |2) Robco didn't try to lowball the bid with older generation panels, which the competitor did do. You get what you pay for... |3) Robco took great care to replace any broken roof tiles, something that's inevitable if you walk on a tile roof. |4) Robco suggested pigeon guards, which we thankfully opted for and which they took care of the day the system was installed. The competitor said they would have to come back to install the pigeon guards. My neighbor used the competitor and today she is having a contractor power wash her roof and put up pigeon guards after noting pigeons roosting under her panels and creating a mess. There have been no pigeons anywhere near my solar panels. |5) Robco's pre-installation estimates for energy production have proven to be more accurate than the competition, something that is important for calculating the cost-benefit of having the system. |6) Most important, six months after our installation, Lenny Clark has kept us updated with how the NV Public Utility Commission's (PUC) decision changes how NV Energy credits us. For anyone in NV with solar this needs no explanation. I've been forwarding Lenny's emails to my neighbor, because her installer has been silent and not taken the time to inform their customers. It's all about the follow through. You can't forget your customer after the project...it's about maintaining a relationship. | |Robco is hands down the best choice for installing your solar system. Even for new customers, installing solar is a wise move because despite lower credits from NV Energy, we anticipate our energy usage to decline. It already has with our installing LEDs and replacing several appliances with more energy efficient models. If our 13 year old central air goes out, that too will be replaced by a more energy efficient system (knock on wood). Also, NV Energy rates are sure to rise, which will decrease the payback period. My recommendation is to call Lenny Clark with Robco if you're considering solar.

Description of Work: Robco installed solar panels on our roof. They worked quickly and efficiently. Responded to several problems quickly, and rectified the problems. Very personable and they really wanted my sister and I to be happy customers. I dealt with Tim, he was wonderful to work with. He has good listening skills. They also did a nice clean up. I would highly recommend Robco to anyone interested in installing solar panels in the Las Vegas area.

Description of Work: Installed 38 solar panels and all that went along with it. Very pleased with the whole crew. Lenny was great as my salesperson and made sure all my questions were answered. Jeremy also was very helpful with getting back to me with info I needed. Installers Tyson, Dillon and Luis did a great job. All were friendly, accommodating, on time, left the work area as if they'd never been there. Great crew all the way around! Very happy with my system. Now just anxious to see how my electric bills decrease!

Description of Work: The Robco employees were all very knowledgable, prompt and professional. On the first appointment The sales rep (Mark Rowe 321-693-6369) was able to present the technical information in a manner that was easy to understand. I had given him my historical electrical usage prior to our meeting and he came prepared with a solar system that was designed specifically for my house (including drawings that showed placement of the panels) and supporting information. He also explained why they use the components they use (panels are made in the USA) and has been excellent with all follow-up. This is a very knowledgable team and I highly recommend that you at least meet with them prior to going with any other company.

I decided to meet with Tim Web from ROBCO Electric who helped explain the process to include how we receive our credits from NV Energy. I was really impressed with the service and decided to go with ROBCO Electric. The installation process was outstanding and the installers took there time to explain the process. Tim also took the lead in getting my HOA paperwork approved and checked in on a regular basis. For closing Tim provided a binder of all our warranty paperwork and instructions on our solar system....this was one of my best decision in going with ROBCO Electric. My Wife and I received a nice thank you card and a bottle of Wine!!! What other electric company or any business give you a bottle of wine just to say thank you! Thank you to Tim Web and ROBCO Electric for making this an awesome experience!

They showed up on time, unloaded the truck, introduced themselves and Justin explained every step of the way before they actually did it. He was respectful, courteous and both were extremely professional. I interacted with Justin most of the time, but when I spoke with Michael he was the same way. They cleaned up after themselves, they asked where they might leave ladders, were respectful of our property. I could not have asked for a better crew. They did everything as far as I can see totally right. It's stressful enough to have work people come into your home not knowing how good or bad they will be. This crew was such a delight! I can't say enough about them. When all was said and done, everything was as it was supposed to be. There was a follow-up where I spoke to Jeremy White, the owner, and he seemed just as nice as the crew was. My understanding is that this company does a lot of the installation of solar panels for other companies and perhaps even sells them, too. That, I don't know. But I do know that my installation crew was one of the best I've ever dealt with since we moved to Las Vegas.

+ 0 moreThis is one impressive crew. I've been working on this project for around 3 years and documented my results in a blog (Journey to Sunland). In addition to the best price, this was totally a no pressure sale. The install was smooth. The team punctual and always polite. They keep a neat working area and I couldn't be more pleased. The cost was before Federal Energy Tax Credits are considered. My initial investment return will be slightly more than 6-1/2 years and in the end I should net an overall 10% ROI.
Description of Work: Install 27 solar panels, all required electrical components, pidgeon guard, paint boxes to match home, all required permits and paperwork.

+ -1 moreGreat. The Sales person, Bruce Rogol, is knowledgeable, personable, hard working and caring. He went way out of his way to help me when we were working together: my car battery died in the heat, when I was on my way to deliver a check, so he picked up a new battery and brought it across town to me! He teaches solar installation at the community college and involves his students in installations. His partner Jeremy White is a knowledgable electrician and remained engaged, to help answer questions even after the final payment was made. I shopped bids and their costs were much lower, maybe by 15 or 20%, than the competitor. The final product is working great, as far as I can tell.

+ 0 moreRobco Electric was one of five solar electric system providers that I received quotations from. I selected Robco Electric not just on price, they were the lowest, but they were the most professional from the beginning of the entire process. A few of the companies made me feel I was talking to used car salesmen and I should hold on to my wallet the entire time. Mr. Bruce Rogol represented Robco Electric. Bruce is extremely knowledgeable of solar systems as he is the instructor at the Collage of Southern Nevada on the subject. Anyway, he came prepared with a detailed proposal, not only showing the equipment, and the cost of the system but also the payback of the system. He was the only one of the five that came with a detailed layout plan showing the layout of the solar panels on the roof and gave me the confidence that his recommendation would work. The others would just give estimates and guesses of how many panels would fit on the roof. Bruce was the only one of the five that came with a sample panel. At no time did Bruce give me a hard sell even when I told him that I would be interviewing other companies. The quotation that Robco Electric provided was fair and reasonable, was never a switch and bait type of quotation that others provided. After I selected Robco Electric and signed the contract, they took care of all of the paperwork with the HOA and the city of North Las Vegas for permits and approvals. After receiving all permits and approvals, they scheduled with me the installation of the equipment. The installation team took three days for the installation of the roof standoffs, cabling, A/C panels, micro-inverters, and solar panels. The project manager, Jeremy, ensured that the paperwork was filed with Nevada Energy for the net energy meter. About a week and half later, Nevada Energy installed the net meter which was the final requirement needed to allow my generated power to flow back to NV Energy. The final piece of the puzzle was the paperwork to be filed with the Nevada Public Utility Commission. Robco Electric (Jeremy and Bruce) handled it all with a smile. Overall, I have been very happy with the system. It is early in the life of the system so I haven't seen any big savings yet and with the Heat Wave we just had the A/C was running a lot of the time but once the cooler weather comes around and I generate more power than I use, I'll make it up and have plenty of credits for next year. For Price, Service, and Overall Professionalism, Robco Electric is probably the best in the Las Vegas valley and I highly recommend them.
