The yard was maintained very well. Sometimes they would fail to arrive on WED as scheduled and without contact they might arrive Thurs morning before the HOA allows them to get to work. There was a breakdown in communication about the design and cost of the gravel area and Rick was hostile and belligerent. Tree maintenance was offered at a reasonable price and performed with adequate quality. When we mentioned that we were exploring adding a swimming pool to the yard he applied pressure to bring in "his guy". After researching the pool with "his guy" we asked Rick about the landscaping portion of the job. Rick didn't respond for weeks and then was hostile again when we explained that after he dropped the ball we went in another direction. If we could have everyone from Ricks Landscaping other than Rick they would still have our business.

Rick's Lawn & Landscaping service is good. Their prices are also good.

The entire experience went very well. I would consider using them again in the future.

Rick's Landscaping worked quickly and professionally to locate the problem. Once the underground piping was exposed, Rick could see how the irrigation had been done (in 1965) and made some good recommendations for modifying the piping, to make future repairs much easier and less expensive to do. While some of his crew worked on exposing the broken pipe and the main water connection to the valves, two others trimmed the front trees. They did a great job. I also consulted Rick about a big water leak in the back, which I've had repaired by both a landscaper and a handyman. Both their repairs failed. Rick had one of his crew repair the leak (turned out to be a broken riser) at no extra charge to me. It's noteworthy that one of my roommates commented on how hard working and focused Rick's crew members were. There was no wasted time while they were there. The crew also completely cleaned the site of both tree branches, leaves and concrete, taking all the debris with them. None of my shrubs or plants were damaged during the tree-trimming process or the concrete-breaking/removal process.

Very happy, overall. My wife and I plan on using Rick to help us with the landscaping of our front yard -- in the near-future.

Rick arrived very promptly to my place and told me that there was a valve that needed to be replaced. He also informed me that a monthly service for my yard would be less than $200 and that they don't take accounts that are that small. Very disappointing.

They were upfront. They had burst a pipe and then they fixed it immediately, with no cost to us. The punctuality wasn’t all that great because they were busy. Once they got started in that week, they finished it. It was also raining and so it was fine. They finished the grass in the rain and so that was pretty awesome. They were less expensive than the other landscapers, and so we went with them. They weren’t the least expensive though, but the quality was good. They did a fantastic job. The grass is beautiful and it just looks amazing.

The work was done by 6 men with Erik supervising and attending to details. He had taken good notes from our previous visit and brought out the various replacement plants needed to fulfill my request. The two-story high Canary palm was trimmed and fertilized along with two 12? Mexican Fan palms, a 25-foot by 6?high Jasmine trellis was hand manicured per my request. Two water valve boxes were repaired; tape and filters replaced, plus one needed an additional part changed out. Six planter pots were relocated including irrigation. Additional Rosemary ground cover was added and all varieties of trees, bushes and ground cover was pruned and trimmed. The crew was seriously on task working efficiently the entire time and finished in about two hours. Furthermore, Rick?s recommended that quarterly service was all I needed and it will be scheduled to coincide with the seasonal change of watering schedules. Last fall I had hired Courtney Landscape to do all of the above work and was required to enter into a monthly contract which enforced an additional 30 days after termination. Unfortunately, the person who sold me the service ?Dan Zook, failed to supervise the crew and NONE of the necessary work which was discussed ever got done after 4 months. Furthermore, my water clock was not set for the winter water schedule so I continued to call, text and email photos of water flooding all over my patio, courtyard and sidewalks. Upon termination of the service, Dan, who had sold me the service walked my yard and admitted that they neglected to reset my water clock. When I showed him all the items I had requested to have taken care of, he made the very same recommendations for fixing them just as he had in our original discussion. I informed him that was the second time we had the same discussion and four months later after having my business?none of the work had been done. I had paid $60 twice monthly for ?blow and go? service and lost many plants to water damage. Courtney and other ?blow and go? contractors who send unsupervised crews make Rick?s Landscaping rate even higher on my list!

Hired them because the neighbor next door was using them. I found that over the year that they were used by me for services, the arrived on time, did the minimum required work, nothing extra such as removing weeds, dead leaves around the plants or burmuda grass (or crab grass?) growing among the plants. This Feb. I decided to let them go and hire another company to handle the landscaping and maintainance.

Rick was great in letting me know what was to be expected and communicating with us. He was very punctual for estimate and his price was very reasonable (about $1500 less than most others). We called four other landscapers and had very poor communication with all except one. One was a "no show". Rick and crew arrived early and the work was done quickly and beautifully. He planted the plants we agreed on as well as some others we had bought. He made several great suggestions for additional small plants. Rick's crew are hard workers and they were all very nice and professional. They went above and beyond what we expected. They cleaned up all around the yards after they were finished. It looked cleaner than when they arrived. Rick and his crew really care about the customers wishes and know how to grow a business. We would highly recommend Rick's Lawn and Landscaping to anyone wanting to update their landscaping. Especially if you are new to the Southwest and not familiar with all the plants, their care and the other options that you may not know about. We are so happy and couldn't be more pleased! Well, rick and I had a 1:00 pm appointment that he was 10 mins late for. On the phone we discussed having my work done the same day and the price (150.00). When rick arrived at my home he said that we were only supposed to have a estimate "today" and that the work would be done another day. So that irritated me. I will say that rick made it right though, he got on the phone with one of his guys and had them come right over to take care of both issues. I dealt with a man named eric and his helper. Eric's words, by the time he finished "blowing out" the debris "it" my yard will be pristine. Although the yard looked 200% better, pristine it was not. I thought that a better job could have been done. There were still a lot of old dead foliage that could have been blown away. A garbage can that was mine that they used to put palm stalks in that were cut off so the leak could be gotten to was left behind for me to take out front on trash day. All in all everything went ok. All the guys were nice. I do feel that the 150.00 per month is/was a bit much but if they did everything rick said would be done I guess the price was right on point. Overall, I just don't think we jelled and my yard did not require weekly service. Also, because I was paying cash I asked for a receipt. Rick did not have any on hand however, he did go home and email me one so I would have it before I paid his staff. I appreciated that.

I setup an appointment with Rick for 2/8/13 for between 8 and 9 am. HE NEVER SHOWED UP, DID NOT CALL, WASTED MY TIME!!!!!!!

I wanted to convert the backyard of my property from an old traditional landscape, which included a bad lawn and lots of weeds, to a low-maintenance desert landscape. I checked Angie's List and called Rick's Lawn and Landscaping. Rick made an appointment to meet me the following day. The next day he arrived promptly and we agreed on a plan to convert the yard. He gave me what I considered to be a reasonable price. We shook hands and agreed on the work to be done. His crew did a very professional job and cleanup was immaculate . I am very impressed with the service, attitude, and management that Rick provides with the help of his crew. I also feel that I was fortunate to get this referral from Angie's List. I would recommend Rick's service to anyone who needs landscaping or lawn help. Rick insists that the job be done right, on time, and, I think, at a very fair price. Also, it is important to me that I mention that after we shook hands and agreed on a price and agreed on a deal, Rick then said to me that he would help me get a rebate of several hundred dollars from the water district. He had me sign a few papers from the water district, took some photos, completed the forms for me, and submitted them to the water district. That night I had an e-mail from the water district telling me they had received my application. Three days later I got a second e-mail from the water district telling me my application been approved and to let them know when the work had been completed. All this was done for me by Rick after we had agreed on the transaction. He didn't have to go out of his way to do this, but he did. That showed me that he cared for the welfare of his customers.

The story from start to finish is that Rick did everything. He was totally professional. His crew was conscientious, making certain that everything was done extremely well. They cleaned up each day and made certain there were no problems for me or the neighborhood. And the yard looks great. I would and do recommend him to anyone. He did a fantastic job. I could not be more pleased.

Thanks to the freezing weather we've had, I had a gentleman from the gas company come to my door and tell me our irrigation pipe had burst. He was kind enough to turn it off and I immediately got on Angie's List to find someone to fix our problem. I called Rick's, and even though I'm sure they had plenty of calls today, I had someone at my door within an hour. Very professional, very polite and explained what happened and what he needed to do to repair the pipe. We will definitely call them again if need be.

Overall, the experience went very well and efficient. I contacted Rick Friday to request backyard cleanup, remove two unwanted trees (formerly bushes with deep roots that I could not remove), overgrown weeds, and dead plants. Overtime, the bushes grew out of control and weeds overtook the yard. I could not see the landscape anymore. After setting a date to come to my home Monday, Rick came out to view the backyard and consult with me about the job I wanted done. He gave me a price I could handle and a time which worked out for the both of us on the same day of the consultation. It was great timing! Rick and his team arrived at my home three hours later. They started the job immediately in the backyard, cutting down the unwanted trees, removing the stumps and weeds, trimming the remaining tree, and checked the irrigation with me to make sure the drip bulbs were still in place. The team hauled away the debris and used the leaf blower to gather remaining dead foliage from the landscape and patio. Guess what! I can see my landscape in my backyard! Eric, the Foreman came by to check if everything was fine. It was a job well done! I thanked him, the work crew and gave Rick a call to express my gratitude. I hope to do business in the future with Rick's Lawn and Landscaping..

My call requesting service was returned promptly, and an individual called to schedule an appointment shortly after that. An appointment to come out and assess the work was scheduled shortly after my initial call. When the landscaper arrived at the house, they were able to provide an estimate and do the work, once I accepted their quote. The job was done quickly, and he cleaned everything up thoroughly. He also provided some advice on some shrubs in the same area, things that I could do myself (vs. fishing for future service). The landscaper was very friendly and professional. I would definitely use their services again.

Rick came out and gave me his estimate. I had two other estimates but decided to go with Rick. He was punctual, his people did a great job, they were very professional and neat. I am very happy with Ricks work and I highly recommend him.

Rick answered the phone himself when I called. I made an appt for an estimate. He arrived when he said he would. I explained what I wanted and he asked a couple of questions to confirm that we both had the same idea in mind. He made some suggestions and then we negotiated a price that he could work with and I could live with. At first, he said that he would not be able to do the job until after Thanksgiving, which was ok with me, but then he called a couple of days later and said he could do the job that week. He and his crew arrived when they said they would and got right to work. I was not home when they were working but when I got home that night everything was cleaned up even though they weren't done. They finished the job in 2 days and everything was clean and neat when it was done. And the big thing is that it came out exactly as I wanted. I was very happy with the results.

I called Rick on 10/10 to schedule an estimate. I was happy he found time for me the next morning. Instead of stating my name and address over the phone, Rick requested a text of it which was convenient. We walked around the neighborhood a little bit to get some ideas as to what would replace my Raywood Ash and Purple Plum trees in my front yard that has a desert landscape (both trees were removed a few weeks prior). But in the end I decided to replace with the same types. I was a little concerned with this and had questions. Rick was reassuring. I also wanted to add an irrigation station and line that would be dedicated to providing water to these trees only. Rick said no problem and stated he has done it a lot and that it?s a good idea. With a new dedicated line, irrigation needs for both trees can be met as they mature. During the estimate, I was happy that Rick did not rush me and was the ultimate in patience with my questions. I?m the kind of person who thinks about every detail about a project and want to know everything before I agree to have work done. This was accomplished. Rick said he would able to schedule the project in 2-3 weeks. Then the following Monday morning (10/15) he left a voicemail saying he could do it the same day due to a cancellation! I was overjoyed he could fit me in just five days after the estimate! Anyway, Rick came with three laborers. Rick explained the job to the workers and then had to leave for about an hour. I'd have to say they worked well as a team. There was an unexpected issue that came up. My large drain pipe that came from the backyard to the front was blocking the desired planting area of the Plum. Jose asked me what I wanted to do and I had no idea of any alternative locations to plant it. I called Rick to inquire and he said it would be no problem to take out the existing drainage pipe and replace it with one that bypassed the tree. I had no idea this could be done and they even had the supplies on hand to do it. I think this is what Jose was trying to explain to me before. Those laborers worked hard digging holes, raking gravel, inserting the heavy trees, irrigating them and installating the dedicated irrigation line. And once everything was installed, they did a great job cleaning up and spreading the gravel back on. Rick returned and helped to rewire my control box to recognize the new dedicated line as a separate station. Two Texas Ranger shrubs were trimmed and the debris vacuumed up. And as a bonus, Rick found a leak in the backyard irrigation box that he fixed with a new regulator. I'm so glad that issue was discovered because it could have turned into a much more serious leak.

Quickly and easily with minimal problems or concerns on my part. One situation arose that I was not happy with (paver placement) and Rick was at my house very quickly and resolved the question I had. My neighbors, too, were thrilled at the results which makes it even better.

I must say from my concept drawings to finish product, his work exceeded my expectations! His work was the lowest quote, he did the work timely, his team was very professional and with no compromise on quality.

I called Rick, and he was able to have one of his guys come out two days later to do the work. They were on time, very professional, and did an excellent job.
