Conducted estimate. Any follows up is very not professional. Matt ask me to call him for explanation of estimate. I tired but failed to reach him. I'm customer and can't figure out why I need to chase him.

First of all, their owner and all of their laborers are professional and very nice. My patio cover Is beautiful and I am very happy with the work they did. My first meeting with the owner was great. He was on time, very informative and helpful. I received bids from two other companies but chose to go with Proficient patio even though they were not the lowest bid I received. I felt that they would give me the highest quality product and installation and I was correct. The patio cover is beautiful and is exactly what I wanted. However, I was disappointed in the scheduling and the lack of communication that occurred thoughout the installation. The first worker showed up as scheduled to dig 4 holes and set the footing of the structure. He was courteous and worked hard. He left saying he'd be back the next morning but he never showed. I called and left a message but received no call back. The next morning the inspector showed up but there was nothing for him to inspect. When I called back they were surprised it wasn't done and apologized for the scheduling error. A group came out and finished the footings and I waited for them to come back a few days later. I expected them on Friday but it was a holiday weekend so I didn't call to follow up. I received a call asking me how I liked the patio cover and if they could schedule the final inspection for May 27. I informed the caller that there was no patio cover just the footings. She was once again surprised and put me on hold. She then scheduled someone to come out Sunday to install the patio cover. He nearly finished that day. I expected him back to finish the job after Memorial Day. They once again called to set up final inspection and I told them it wasn't completed. The caller had someone out later that day or the next(can't remember) and it was completed and inspection passed. Im sure they are very busy trying to get everyone's patio cover installed before summer is in full swing but I felt like I should have stayed on top of them like I was project manager and that shouldn't be the case. It was annoying but in the end I got what I wanted. Stay on top of them and you'll be more than pleased.
Description of Work: Installed a stand alone Alumawood open lattice pergola. Turned out great.

Project was finished Mar 15th, 4MTHS LATER..Patio covers and concrete work was done very quickly, but the rest of the work took FOREVER.!! Only a 2 man crew to remove all the grass, level the yard for the rock to be placed and to put in new irrigation, old sprinkler heads not removed and weed cover was placed over them?? So some days they showed up, some days not.. when they did come it wasn't until 9:30, they were gone by 11:30 for lunch, sometimes came back in the afternoon which would be at 1:30 and would be gone by 3:30....sometimes not at all.. VERY SLOW PROGRESS..When they did leave, my front and back yard looked like a construction zone w tools, wheelbarrows, paper cups, and piles of grass and roots just left on my front lawn..tools were left and just dropped on our walkways..as if the rapture had just occurred.... Our street wasn't supposed to be used for anything, especially overnight..but they had half the street piled high w debris from our yard w caution tape around it and left it overnight..I called to say they couldn't leave debris in the street like that, and I was told their trailor was broken and that the debris would be picked up that day..thankfully our HOA didn't fine us!! Our Block wall had to be painted a total of 3 times.. first ONLY the very back wall was painted(all walls were to be painted) and with the right color, but was done before the dirt had been leveled....they came back after the dirt was leveled, and repainted ALL THE WALLS this time, but used a different less expensive brand of paint that we wanted and paid for, which came out to be an ugly cinnamon brown..not close to our house color, and then didn't paint the wall on the side of the house that the gate is attached to..So,they came and repainte a THIRD time and it was finally done right.... the retaining wall in the front was put up as a raised 36" wall..not at all what we had planned..but we settled on bringing it down to an 18in raised wall that had beautiful rock work..final job very nice, but what a waste of time and money and frustration on both parts.. the border for the artificial grass has already come up..In the end, we did not part on good terms w Matt..we were told they were fininshed w us..Yes there were things we changed in process, but this should never have dragged on so long.. So far...Overall FINAL work is nice, except for the borders coming up, but due to the VERY long time it took to get our relatively small yard done , we will not be recommending them or having any more work done.
Description of Work: put up a patio cover and a free standing gable cover, put concrete steps in front yard and widened driveway, extended concrete around pool w new spray decking on existing patio and new areas, painted back yard block wall, removed all grass which was replaced w decorative rock and installed all new irrigation front and back yard, planted new shrubs/trees, installed artificial turf, an 18inch decorative retaining wall front yard..

We went to the showroom where Jess helped us decide what we needed etc. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. We then set up the date for the start of the service. We were very nervous about having any work done in our home since we have had some HORRIFIC experiences. We explained this to Jess who assured us that all the workers they have all work for them and are not hire as you need them workers. They were on time; we did have a day delay with the high winds but other than that it all went very smooth. Every person that came out to work on our BBQ was professional, neat and clean. They advised us of what they would be doing before they started and we felt very comfortable. The BBQ we wanted in by my son's birthday and they did come through. The first time we used it it appeared to not be getting hot as fast as we thought it should. We called and they sent a crew out the next day with a new BBQ just in case there was a defect in the one installed. They corrected the problem by an adjustment and what a difference it works like we thought it should. We have used it nearly everyday since it was put in. A few of my neighbors came over and were very impressed with the workmanship etc. We have referred many to them. I would highly recommend Jess, Matt and their crew. Great experience.

Profificent Patio was supposed to have our yard plans with drawings ready on Saturday May 10th. On May 9th after having nearly 2 weeks to get the drawings ready, I got a call saying that they would not be ready because they waited to the last minute, wasted 2 weeks and the desiger got fired or quit. Both stories were given as an excuse in the same phone call. Also they were very busy and haden't got around to it. If this is how they conducted business before we hired them, we can only imagine how promptly and efficiently they would have performed our work. Matt seemed very nice and responsive when coming to our house to look at the project we wanted done. We cannot say the same about the people in his office/showroom. We went out for competitive bids after our initial conversation with Proficient Patio and they came to our house to view the project and returned with bids all within the 2 weeks it took Proficient to supposedly be working up information to present to us.
Description of Work: We were not able to get a bid from them and no work was performed.

They seemed nice but we had to have them redo it so that it would be a little comfy. The awning went perfectly but we had to have them redo the pavers because it was not done right but they redid it and now it is done fine. It took them about three or four weeks to do it so it was from the first week of February or something until the end of February or the first week of March. Except for the fact that they had to redo the patio once, they did everything fine and they were pleasant and all that kind of stuff. The price was probably a little more expensive than what we could have paid but we felt that since they were a natural brick and mortar store as opposed to a subcontractor guy who just works out of his house or whatever, we could pay the extra money. The first time that they laid the pavers, they were a little uneven and we did not like it so we had them redo it and now on the second time, it is fine. When they did it for the second time, a different crew came. I guess that the first crew were new guys and they did not do a good enough job so we told them that they had to redo it and they did. When we called them, we can get to them. They were always right here when they said that they would be and the workers were all fine.

The work was very very, very, very, very, slow. It was not the worker, but the schedulers. There was a little problem with the rain that may have messed them up a bit. But there schedulers were non responsive and unable to schedule anything properly. I finally had to get the scheduling supervisor to get them to finish the job. There was a small misunderstanding with the footer. This was partially my fault. So, make sure you know exactly how, where, and the exact level that you want, then you will probably be all right with that. After about six week, many delays and I fixed the footer problem, I like the final product. It is a very nice patio cover.

Apparently the last individual who poured my patio stated he was a representative of another patio service here in town. As it turned out he no longer worked for the company however he gave me an estimate on the companies form and quoted me a price to take down my patio cover, remove the old patio, replace the patio and put the patio cover back in place. Initially the work looked fine however within the next couple of years the patio cover began to leak, and the patio began to streak with a jelly like substance and stain the entire patio. Matt took one look and told me that the cement used was a "bad mix/truck mix" and he doubted anything could be done. He did contact a person much more knowledgeable about cement and had him come out the next day and look at it. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done except replace it. Matt feels the patio cover can possibly be repaired but the patio definitely needs replacing. The bottom line is the individual who said he was a representative of another company has pulled a fast one on me and I'm out almost $3,000 dollars and still don't have a decent patio for entertaining or just plain enjoying it. All in all though Matt and his friend Don were very professional and up front which I was very happy with. Of interest is the fact that the person who sold me the initial patio has at one time worked for Matt and was let go. Matt was professional enough to not explain the details but he was very familiar with the individual. So as it stand now I have a very poor quality patio and the individual who sold it to me is still out there selling inferior quality patios to others.
Description of Work: Called and talked to Matt who stated he could stop by the next day to take a look at my patio to see if any thing could be done to repair it. He arrived at the stated time and I appreciate that fact.

The workers were nice and proffesional and did the work right. I was not happy with the fact that I had scheduled them to start my backyard project to put concrete in my backyard so they needed to prep the area and level it which would of taken a full day and would have been completed if they werent called by the person who manages where they should be at what time, in this case it was on my time. They are schedule to start and the first day, they get called by noon to help out on another project which was supposed to take less than 2 hours and basically when they did, they came back to pick up their belongings that they had left at my house since it was already the end of the day. I was upset and felt this was a very unproffesional move from them. I dont appreciate people doing things on my time, I work as well. I did speak to the young lady who was responsible for doing that. Although she did keep it proffesional. I felt that she felt bothered of my complain in some sense. She was proffesional but her tone said something else to me. I believe that you still keep a friendly tone with all customers no matter what or who. She did apologize for the fact that the guys didnt get back as soon as they should have, but other than that experience everything else went smoothly. Thats the only reason I giving them a B. I would consider hiring them again as long as I get to deal with an all friendly staff. The guy who came over from proficient patios to give us an estimate on adding concrete was extremely proffesional and was very well prepared which was a big plus in our end, on top of that he really tried to work with us into giving us the best deal for our dollar. He applied certain discounts and promotions they had at the time and also gave us a half discount into adding concrete steps to make it possible to get the job and for us to fit it in our budget. That really help me decide right there and then cuz I knew he was working with me. I would recommend this company to friends and family. They did a great job and im extremely satisfied with the work.

A representative came for a free estimate. We had gotten quotes at the Home Show where they had a booth, but the prices quoted at our home were higher, but reasonable. All went well until we gave them a down payment (on Aug. 19) to begin building the patio cover. We were given the impression that the work would begin soon after that and that some one from their office would be calling us with a schedule. I think there might have been miscommunication within Proficient Patios regarding the permits from our Home Owners Association. The person I talked to in their office said that we were responsible for securing the permits but we were told at the time of the down payment that Proficient Patios would be securing the permits. I was frustrated that I had to do all of the follow-up regarding the schedule, there was no communication initiated by Proficient Patio until I called them. If I didn't follow-up, our project would have been further delayed since they were waiting for us to secure the permits. I told them I was disappointed in their process and lack of communication. In the end, Proficient Patios secured our permits and once they got started, the builders were professional and worked quickly. In the end, the patio cover turned out very nice and passed inspection, but not without a bit of frustration on our part. The project was finished on Sept. 23. I would recommend them to my friends but only with a caveat about nailing down the schedule before writing a check.

The owner Matt brought a new employee to our home...it was his first day on the job...to quote our job. Had seen TV coverage of this firms work and the showroom displayed the high ranking on Angies list.. so we trusted them and moved forward with the work. The project started a day earlier than we expected...so we were off to a good start. Our experience went downhill fast from there.... It was about 2 weeks after the patio was poured until they came out to install the patio cover... There went the promise of having the work done in about 2 weeks... The patio cover went up amazingly fast...especially compared to our neighbors who used a different contractor...who took about 3 times as long to install a patio cover. What happens next? Proficient Patios calls the week of 4th of July to tell us the patio cover has FAILED the city inspection from Henderson...No apology from Proficient Patios...no explanation as to the reason for the failure... Inpector came back out again to re-inspect a week or so later...and passed the patio cover but mandated an electrical inspection at a cost of $350 to me...had Proficient Patios done the job right the first time, when there was no electrical installed on the premises, there would have been no need for a $350 electrical inspection... But that didn't happen. Installers also Cool Decked the entire sidewalk around the home...not part of the original contract. We never wanted the Cool Deck on the sidewalk due to the potential for damage from other contractors and thats EXACTLY what happened...so now we have to pay for a repair of something we never wanted and didn't ask for. We had a lattice wall installed above the patio cover because Matt told us the roof would be too high if we installed it over the rear windows on our home. The lattice wall was not installed as we had described at the original consultation...Matt called, said if we wanted it fixed we needed to pay for more materials... When we brought up the failed inspection on the phone, the miscommunication on the Cool Deck, and the employees promise to fix the lattice wall, Matt became smugly arrogant on the phone...and NEVER apologized to us. After threatening to get our attorney involved, Jessica Lane agreed to fix the latice wall at Proficient Patios expense. Proficient Patios showed up nearly a week later...with no warning, on a Saturday morning... The materials to fix the lattice wall were not here as the crew expected...so they had to drive back to the shop to get the materials and come back on a Saturday to fix the lattice wall, which they did. And the kicker here, is our neighbors with the same floorplan had a patio cover installed above their back windows...done by a competitor, and passed on the first try...Doing an installation that Matt refused to do! Nobody wants to spend $8500 with a company owner who is unwilling or unable to apologize...with a variety of miscomunications...not the least of which includes a FAILED city inspection, and an inability to deliver the product which the client asks for...while the competition does so next door... And it certainly should not take the willingness to pursue legal action to acheive a result... It did in our case. Do yourself a favor... TRUST ME... Don't use Proficient Patios for ANY project. In our case, they most definately didn't live up to their name or their sales pitch. Based on our experience, Matt is more concerned about cashing checks and selling services than customer service after the sale. Run away as fast as you can!

Matt came buy the house and told me what they could do, gave me many more options than any other place and I like Matt, he is a solid guy, the type you feel like you could go drink a beer with. He pretty much sold be on the idea, I later went to the showroom where I was able to see their designs and get a pretty good idea how mine was going to look. The guys came out and built the thing. I don't really know what else to say. I'll be calling them do do my lawn and build an outdoor kitchen as well.

Started off by stating everything would be done in 2 weeks then one month then 6 weeks. We started process in June all was complete by August. Then this June spa not functioning I got in contact with company. Phone dickering was unbelievable. I was blamed for the poor planning of the positioning of the spa. Do you not think that that if a motor is going to be. Covered up it should be mentioned? no such conversation ever happened yet this is my fault - what do I know about this equipment! Oh by the way no one ever explained how anything worked I was told here is the booklet I know nothing about spas. Ok so now the spa has to be turned around before the repairs can be made. This is done well. By AG spa. Penny electric has been wonderful. AG calls proficient as does my husband to say the area by the motor needs to remain open and NOT covered up! today the workman shows up. To cover it up. I politely ask him to uncover it which he is now doing, by the way Proficient Patio expects me to pay half of all of this!!!!!

We went to proficient patios, or should i say deficient patios, to buy outdoor patio furniture for our newly built home. The showroom was dark, hot, and uncomfortable. We began looking at the furniture and the prices were outrageous. Upon closer examination the quality of the sofas and chairs were not good. The foam cushions were thin and the wicker parts of furniture were broken near most of the legs. I understand that showroom furniture can take a beating, but not in areas underneath the chairs and sofas. We looked and looked for a sales person and no one came to our help. After looking at all their patio sets, we just left. No sales person, No air conditioning, No lights, equal No Sale!

Matt visited our home and was very nice. He had a few ideas for our patio redesign which weren't in our original thoughts however they seemed in line with our plan. Matt took some measurements and departed after about an hour after leaving some pamphlets behind and sitting down to talk to us. He also invited us to visit the showroom downtown. Within a few days we received a call to set up an appointment with Proficient Patios. However my husband's work schedule did not allow me to set up the appointment that day. My husband was able to stop by the showroom about a week later while in the area to take a brief look at what had been done and take Matt up on the offer to see what products they had in the showroom. My husband stated that there were no (zero) customers whatsoever in the showroom and when he approached a lady working there she began questioning why he was there and why we never set up an appointment when she called. He asked to see what work they had done with the measurements and she said that nothing could be done until an appointment and a commitment was made by us. When he asked to look at some of the showroom décor she indicated she could not help him do anything until an appointment was made. After looking around on his own he had no choice but to leave the premises. I don't think we'll be using Proficient Patios for our patio/barbeque project. Bottom line here: be sure you follow the correct contact and visit protocol with Proficient Patios if you are going to work with them. They seemed to have some nice products and appear to have a lot of experience working on projects similar to ours. Overall I graded them a high "C" for the good home visit but being unable to move the project forward in a manner which was most conducive to us as the paying customer. Matt scored high on punctuality and responsiveness (he did have to reschedule his original appointment, hence the "B" grades). Matt's professionalism was high and the showroom employee's was very low, hence the "C" in this category.

The work went flawlessly from start to finish, and I have to say, the name "Proficient" definitely fits. I had received two estimates, and Proficient was a bit higher. Both outfits had good reviews and ratings here, but I chose Proficient because I felt they could better coordinate the two jobs (patio and cover). My choice was validated as the work proceeded. The most amazing part (for me) was watching the transformation of the backyard ground from a rubble pile to a gorgeous bed of paving stones. All this done by only 2 men, mind you. But, boy, they really knew their stuff, as the results speak for themselves. Along the way we were contacted on a daily basis and advised of when workers would and would not be coming. Proficient also handled all the details relating to my HOA and city permits, and everything went without issues. Matt, and indeed all the staff were a pleasure to do business with. I recommend Proficient highly and without any reservations.
Description of Work: Proficient installed pavers and a large patio awning in my back yard area. The pavers required the demolition and removal of a small (approx. 8' x 8') concrete slab, regrading of the surrounding area and so on. The pavers were colored Belgard pavers which, I have to say, I'm really glad I went for the extra cost of pavers over the cost of stamped and colored concrete. The area covered was about 650 square feet. The patio work was completed first and then the free form lattice patio cover was installed.

We hired this company to totally redo our Landscaping. They came to our house to look at things and within a day or two, we had our estimate. We were then invited to their Showroom to pick out items and to review everything. VERY PROFESSIONAL!!! We were then handed a plan showing exactly how it would look. We changed a few of the plants ans boulders and got a new plan. The work is done Professionally, Neat, Proper and throughly!! ANY work I want done on my Landscaping, Patio, Patio Cover, Driveway or anything else Proficient Patio does, I WILL CALL THEM!! THANKS MATT, ERIC and CO!!
