It went very well overall.
Description of Work: Garage door would not open with automatic opener. They cleaned out the motor assembly and adjusted the chain and it is working fine.

Description of Work: I had a problem with the door reversing so I called Precision to come out and have a look at it. They were prompt and professional in their response. However, after doing some adjustments to the opener and lubricating the door (they wouldn't adjust the springs since they weren't their brand) the recommendation was to replace the opener and the springs. I went from thinking it was going to be a minor adjustment to an estimate of almost $900. Not happy with that estimate I called another company. (which I plan on writing a review on here for them) The other company came out, changed a gear in the opener and adjusted the springs for $60. Now everything is working fine. I'm sure they do fine replacement work but I wouldn't recommend them for servicing unless they did your install.

We do not rewind old springs, even our brand, because they will often times break when adding more tension, and the owner will state that we broke them. Furthermore, if the springs are worn out they should be replaced to save wear and tear to the opener. In my experience, the springs he has are worn and will break soon, creating more costly repairs. The opener was a recomendation, which can be purchased from many vendors and we have different models and prices to choose from. After a thurough review, I believe we provided a good recommendation to this customer, and I hope he will revise this report in the future.

Overpriced thieves.
Description of Work: It all started out great. I called this company this morning and they came out today. Then the guy got here. They wanted over $500 for a new garage opener and @50 to replace my board. Then on top of that, I have to pay an environmental fee to dispose of the old garage opener. I paid them their $49.95 fee and told the thieves to leave. Don't ever call this company.
