Precision Overhead Door of Las Vegas

It turned out ok. They just did what was in the big deal. The price was great. There was not much interaction with the company. They showed up and did the job satisfactorily.

There were aspects of the repair that were difficult due to the door being oversized and set up as a high-lift door. The opener is a wall mounted jackshaft design, the springs that were already installed were the wrong size and the cables were the wrong length for the size of the door. Due to installation errors by the previous installer as noted (not this contractor) Andrew had his work cut out for him. Custom-length cables had to be made and there was some trial and error needed on the spring size. It turned out to be a somewhat complicated repair due to the unique features of the door and opener system but Andrew kept at it. Once the work was completed, the door works that way it should and is a lot quieter, now having smoother operation. Andrew also took the time to go over regular maintenance requirements with me to keep the door, now properly configured, operating properly. I believe I made the right choice in selecting a repair service. Knowledgeable, professional and prompt.

He did a fantastic job, and now the fridge is louder than my doors! The technician was very kind and professional. He verified my order and was very thorough. He didn't try to upsell me on anything, which was very important to me. It was fabulous!

I came home and discovered the spring had broken on my overhead door. This was around 2:45PM. I called and they said the Tech would be here between 3:00PM and 5:00PM. The Tech called at 3:20PM that he was on his way and arrived around 3:40PM. He estimated the cost of the repair/replacement of the spring at $500+ (he gave me an exact figure but I don't remember it.). He had mentioned that the replacement spring would have a lifetime guarantee. This sparked a memory for my wife who said that she thought we might have a lifetime warranty on the door from when we purchased it in 2007. While the Tech (Jody?) was on the phone with his office describing the installation (he hadn't had to do a door exactly like ours before), I called Martin Doors Direct of Las Vegas and they were able to find my warranty from the paperwork when I purchased the door in 2007. We did, in fact, have a lifetime warranty on the spring and the cost to have them come out and replace it would be $95 (labor). However, they are not able to come out until Wednesday (this was on Monday). When Jody came back with an estimate over $500 to make the repair it was obvious that I could save $400+ by going with Martin Doors. The Tech was on the phone with his office when I let him know and it seemed like his office was a little angry with him. However, I can't fault his salesmanship and the comments he made about lifetime warranty on the springs he would install were what reminded my wife of the warranty we were given on the original install. Jody let me know that I would not be able to use the $50 coupon for the Service Call because I was not having him do any work so I paid the $49.95. Had I remembered the lifetime warranty I would have called Martin Doors first but having previously used Precision to "tune up" my garage door (and make it whisper quiet like it was when it was installed 7 years ago) and knowing that they come out within a couple of hours, I made the call to them. I guess the moral of the story is keep your paperwork where you can find it so that you can check the warranty before you place a service call. If I had done that I could have saved the $49.95.

The service provider was prompt and on time as requested. He overlooked the problem with the garage door motor and drive unit and immediately knew the system needed lubrication. After applying the lubricant the problem was fixed and has been working great ever since!

I am completely impressed with Precision technician Robert Murphy's skills, knowledge and abilities to correct these problems. He was customer-oriented, organized, patient, and represented Precision in the best way possible--as a great employee of this company. Robert essentially completed a thorough 25 point inspection and diagnosed the issue which was in large part attributed to a misalignment on my garage door when it opened and closed, and that problem caused the poor sensor reading to my garage door opener. He installed a 22 gauge 16' strut on my garage door which corrected the garage door misalignment. He showed me how it opened and closed before, and how much better it worked after he put in the strut. There were a few other things he did that were part of my visit and bill, but I am very happy with the service I received from Preciison's Robert Murphy and feel confident to recommend Precision to Angie's List.

When he was done, the door is "whisper" quiet again. The only difference is that the original wheels/rollers had a little disk on them and the replacement wheels/rollers did not have them. There was a smell from the lubricants that permeated the garage for a few days after.

It was very good. They were a great company. He was very informative and told me how to keep it running good and what to expect in the next couple of years because my springs were getting old and stuff like that. There was nothing I didn't like about them. I wouldn't prescribe one company over another one because I've never used another company before. They were great for me but I don't know if they would be great for somebody else.

I had a good experience, just really basic service but they were very timely and the work was done quickly.

Just wanted to say that I called precision and they were at my house an hour and a half later. Thirty minutes after that the work was done. Mike Sheehan was the tech and he was very professional.

Extremely personable young fellow named Jeff got my door operating smoothly and quietly and gave me some good advice regarding the expected lifespan of the door. A very pleasant experience. Will hire again in the future

The technician was knowledgeable about how the system works and explained that we had 3 choices: to live with the system as is until the circuit board gives out; Replace the circuitry for around $300; or replace the entire unit for over $600.00 We opted for the first and intend to save for a new unit as it made little sense to spend half the amount of a new unit - like throwing good money after bad. There was absolutely no pressure to pick any option. Things were clearly presented; questions clearly answered; and the work was done correctly. We will definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Matthew did an excellent work and I learned a lot about prevention and repair, and replacement of garage door openers.

Seemed ok, said the person before put in the wrong spings. Let them do what they said they needed to do. They ended up giving me 2 different size spring. Did not fix the problem. The were polite though. Ended up calling someone else.

He came out and looked at the garage door. Told us the garage door opener was broken and the model was too old for reordering of parts. Quoted us 694.95. Wanted to install a motor that was twice the power of the current one just to drive the price up. Wanted to charge us 200.00 for labor. Was initially told the fee to inspect would be included in the quote. But when asked the break down for the quote the $50 was added on. He also told us that part of the garage door was broken. But the portion that he pointed out to us that was broken wasn't broken before. We were able to find a motor the same power for less money and someone else to put in the garage door for less than 1/2 the price he quoted.

Called for an emergency visit at about 9pm because operating arm became separated from the wall and wedged door in a half open position after returning home from airport. Since cars were stuck inside the garage at that point and door could not move up or down. They had a live person on the end of the hone when we called for service. The service person arrived slightly ahead of promised window schedule. Brandon was polite and competent. It was a very unusual malfunction but he was able to fix it and get the door operating smoothly.

Overall the service performed was just fine and very professional, and the Garage Door opener works just fine.. However I was not informed that I may have to also purchase a repeater to be able to use the HomeLlink garage opener device in my car. Two cars, one programmed right up the other would not. After talking to the people at Precision I was told that I did not need a repeater and they sent a tech. out to help program the one car. After he arrived he informed me that I would need to have a repeater. Cost about $65 to $85 dollars. I contached HomeLink and discussed the situation with them and they verified I would need the repeater, based on the year and make of the car,. and sent it to me just for the price of shipping.

He quoted me $504 intially for the work. When I reminded him of the Angie's discount, he took off 10%. I said I wanted another estimate and ended up getting a quote for $183 from another company. Precision is overcharging.

Technician was friendly, knowledgable and courteous. Performed work as prescribed. Went over work and answered questions. Took his time to educate the homeowner on the mechanics of the door, which was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend.

Matt arrived on time, explained why the door was not working properly, fixed the immediate problem (springs), gave advice on a future problem and then replaced them (rollers), and adjusted the opener to function at its best.

Their techs are punctual and professional. I used on two separate occasions for two different issues. They explained the problem in terms that I could understand, gave me my options, pros and cons for each, and helped me make a good decision. They were very courteous during the work and the job was done right the first time each time.

We always have good service, and they treated us right. They offered us warrantee to cover all parts labor and repairs, and they stood by their word.
