Description of Work: Furnace failed . We decided to replace complete HVAC . Old system was 18 yrs. old . They were punctual , neat , professional , efficient . New furnace was overpriced , AC was fairly priced . Belatedly , after tech research , discovered that furnace was undersized (60k BTU) and inefficient(80%) . Their 10yr warranty is only effective if we have their annual PM @ our expense .

Description of Work: Part of service agreement, One Hour checks the unit for problems four times per year. This costs $330 and provides a discount on services and parts should they be needed. This is true, and reasonable as I did need a bit of work the first time they came a year and a half ago. However, in the two subsequent visits to the most recent I was quoted a price of $7,500.00 to replace my ductwork. After I denied the offer, a quick phone call to a "supervisor" lowered the price to $3,300.00...quite a drop in about five minutes. I still denied the offer as upon further inquiry an assitant informed me that the ducts were fine, but the insulation surrounding them was deteriorating. The last visit, nothing so extreme was offered, but merely suggested along with the three primary issues that probably do need addressing. I did some research and discovered that even with "discounts" I would be overpaying by an average of 40% should I choose to use One Hour again. | |The search for reasonable prices continues...

Description of Work: Replaced complete HVAC system. All workers clean and professional and cleaned up after the work complete. Only reason gave B on quality is because they ended up coming back approx a month later when a safety feature was triggered because the drain pipe was clogged. We were surprised this had not been cleaned since the whole system had been replace. Not charged for the return trip.
