One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating - Las Vegas

April 25 2014.Technician Daniel Laymen was on time. He serviced my two units as agreed for the summer months. By the end of the visit he tried to convince me that my downstairs unit would not last the summer and needed to be replaced for $8,500.00. On May 2. 2014 the downstairs unit was struggling to keep temperature. I called a different company to come and address the problem. What they had found was that the doors on the furnace in my attic had not been replaced after he had been here for service. Trying to make a sale I can handle, purposely trying to force some one to make a decision based on fear is despicable. I am a husband business owner and a father of two small children and lived in Vegas all of my life. I will never use this company again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I am a firm believer in karma and I hope that people take heed to this warning.

The representative called before coming over. He was on time, courteous, thorough, informative and did not try to sell me anything that I did not need. Because I have an extended warrantyajd allowing the check ups when they are due, I have avoided big problems. And when I do have a robblem, the company which includes "Mr. Sparky" as was the service for today, are helping me the same day. "One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning" have never not exceeded my expectations! I have used them for years and I never have anything but excellent things to say. From the staff on the phone to the staff that comes to the house are consistently professional and thorough and the cost reasonable if there is a problem. I have an older house so potential problems are always a threat, but "One Hour" is so pro-active that repairs are kept to a minimum. I have to mention that they saved my house from a dangerous fire. I had a dream of potential fire threat and the company did not take it lightly. They came out the same day I called and found the problem and avoided a diasterous situation. They themselves made sure to obtain all the needed permits then fixed the circut breaker, This required a new fuse box which had to be installed after going into the wall. The restoration of the wall is beautiful and one would never know that the wall had been compromised aroung the new fuse box! I wish I had written sooner about this great company because they have been so good to me for the many years they have been servicing my house.

They are very professional, they show up, they do everything really wonderful. They give you estimates, they are courteous, they show up when they say they are going to show up, they call ahead of time.

One Hour has done all maintenance on my AC for 12 years. They installed my current unit and I have had an annual contract with them since the installation. I have always been satisfied with their work, up until now. During the routine semi-annual inspection, they told me my unit had burn spots on the circuit board and metal fatigue in the heat exchanger. They wanted to replace the whole unit for $8,000 to $12,000. Another company came and inspected it. There is no problem. I don't need to replace the unit. If the unit did need replacing, the other company would charge about $4,400.

Have dealt with company with no problems for the last 5 years. My downstairs heater went out yesterday and AFTER the tech fixed the problem he told me he was going to charge me $50 for servicing the unit because it hasn't been "maintained" over the past 5 years -- HOWEVER, they are the ones who installed it and they NEVER told me it would require regular maintenance to keep the warranty which you would think they would've told me at the time of installation, or maybe on one of the multiple trips they made to service this very same unit without a $50 charge over the last few years. When I was upset about it the tech wasn't really helpful, he gave me a phone number to call and try to "negotiate" the charge. I will never use this company again, after having spent over 10k between the new unit and the multiple repair trips I expect to at least be told BEFORE they work on the unit that they're going to charge me. Horrible.

The service man inspected my furnace, had to fuss with the thermostat and 'computer' plus replace the 'glow plug', and he did a reasonably thorough inspection of the furnace. Total cost was going to be roughly the same as signing up for their annual membership and getting the discount from that so I opted in for that program. The membership includes AC inspection and spring service visit - which will save me about $100 next spring. They probably aren't the cheapest game in town but I was impressed with the knowledge and candid disclosures offered by the service provider. And the bottom line - what is most important - the furnace was broke / not working when the service man arrived, it was working when he left, and it has worked without a hitch since then.

I could have just purchased the repair for $200, their minimum repair charge, which involved a part or two and some service time. But they have the membership which I took because there was no reason not to. The repairman said he would waive the entire repair fee if I wanted it for $150/year, which includes heat check in the fall and A/C check in the spring, as well as waived service fees and discounted rates for any repair. So in other words, getting the repair done, which was crucial, cost me less if I also wanted to take semi-annual check-ups (a service I would have purchased somewhere anyhow). He was very nice and professional, and while sometimes I feel wary about upsells, this one proved to be a downsell and a free repair.

As usual, One Hour is on time and very professional. They find the problem and advise you before proceeding. I am always amazed that the price is the same for regular service or night time emergency service. I have used them several times now and will continue due to their fine service.

I've been using them for several years. They come in the spring and in the fall and do an inspection. If you have a problem they come the same day. The fact that I know that I could call them if I have a problem and they'll be out the same day.

Bought house 9/12; told a/c was up to date parts-wise; gave out 4/12; hired handy man referred by seller; he placed what he said was 2-year old unit; gave out May 2012; called 2 firms and chose One Hour; said he could limp us along through the summer until we could afford new unit-charged it, put in a new starter kit got it to run; that one gave out in June and called them; turns out replaced unit was 20 years old; never attached to platform and platform was not attached to house and was leaning towards the back. That one breaking down put my husband in the hospital with breathing problems and while he was in the hospital called One Hour back and they were johnny-on-the-spot. Worked with us very, very hard to get financing for us so we could obtain a new unit and told us if my husband got home and needed air conditioning before they could install new one to call them immediately, day or night, and they would get a portable a/c unit to us. They were very concerned about his health. Anyway, they installed new unit within 3 days (had to leave the old one on 23/7 at 40 degrees so it wouldn't shut off!), replaced the wall thermostat with a state-of-the art one and even replaced the old return cover (which was 40x20 and not made any more) with a hinged and removable, light-weight double cover at no additional cost. Then in order to be warranted, a new 60 breaker had to be installed in place of a 50, with a new copper wire run from unit to panel (complete width of the house for a total of $1400) and they covered that expense so that the warranty would remain on the unit..... very professional, kind, neat and polite representatives from the original call to the financing, to the installation. Called them back a week later because we heard a very loud noise and a kitchen breaker had 'flipped'. They came within 6 hours (told them it was not an emergency because the unit was still working) and the same installers went up on the roof to check out the unit and the breaker on the unit was still in place .. no harm . which really put our minds at ease. Can't extoll their virtues enough!! As they explained, they are not the cheapest, but they are the most professional. The original tech that charged the old unit included a one-year maintenance agreement in the price of getting it to work and that maintenance remains on the new unit and calls for 2 trips per year: air and heat... we are going to have them clean out our ducts at the end of summer also. Can't say enough good about them.

It only took him twenty minutes to put in. I looked up the parts online after he left, and they only cost about $200 for parts. He charged me $800 for labor. When I called the company they said, "some people charge more and charge less." I'd just come home from the hospital right after the install, so I didn't know that it had happened like that until it was too late.

I called One Hour at 10:30 am to convey my concerns with my AC units that were under warranty. They scheduled a same day appointment between noon and 1 pm. Shawn arrived within that time window and was very courteous and professional. He listened to my concerns regarding the problems with the AC units and confirmed the fan blade was creating a large amount of vibration in my larger unit and that Freon was leaking from the smaller unit. Shawn attempted to straighten the fan blade as best he could and it was visually apparent to me that he was successful in reducing but not eliminating the excessive vibration. He called his office and recommended replacing the fan blade and was granted permission. He did not have a fan blade available but assured me it would get replaced soon. He also replaced the leaking valve on the smaller unit. The next day, a message was left on my answering machine setting an appointment time for Saturday between 8 am and noon to replace the fan blade. A technician arrived on schedule and replaced the fan blade in a professional and courteous manner. Overall, I would say I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience with this company from the technicians that worked on the units, to their addressing my concerns and the extremely quick response I received. The technician arrived as scheduled and the "Tune up Service" was performed without a problem. He said that his inspection found corrosion within the Furnace Heat Exchanger on one of the units and there was a potential of Carbon Monoxide poisoning. He then provided an estimate for a replacement Furnace and High Efficiency Air Conditioning System. As a result of the potential danger, I solicited bids from 2 other HVAC Contractors. One Hour's Estimate was over $5,000 more than the lowest bid for a comparable 16 SEER system so I selected a competitor for a complete system replacement. When the Furnace was disassembled and removed by the other HVAC company, I didn't see any corrosion within the Furnace Heat Exchanger and the other HVAC Company's Technician confirmed my observation and told me that that there was no danger of CO poisoning. Bottom Line: Get a second opinion when One Hour A/C and Heating recommends replacement of your HVAC System!

They came out right on time and took care what they needed to. They explained everything to me what was needed to be done and they checked up on everything. They were excellent.

I was turned off by having to purchase a plan to get a decent price on duct cleaning, I'm going to look else where for that service.

They were great! They showed up on time, the same day I called and they had the part on the truck and did the work. They were done in about an hour!

Replacement unit was installed without problems.

I purchased new air conditioners and furnaces from One Hour in 2011. Every six months they call me to remind me it is time for my free maintenance for the equipment. Since the units have a ten year free maintenance included in the purchase price I was somewhat skeptical that the free service may not happen or was inadequate. I am very happy with their after-purchase service. I appreciate them calling me to remind me that it is time for the free check-up and then immediately scheduling an appointment that is convenient with me. They arrive on time and spend about an hour checking the units. The technicians are all very nice, polite, and professional.

Noticed no A/C in second bedroom. At same time was experiencing, unbeknownst to us, a hot water leak under floor in same bedroom causing it to feel warmer th\an normal. Home is 15 years old, so opted for replacement of both A/C and Heat units, 17 yrs. old, as more efficient units have been developed since we bought our home. Had no problems with company, time will tell on units installed and future services. Inlcude was 2 years worth of service check ups.

One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating were excellent. They've been prompt and everything. Every time we come ask for them, they will come right by.

Called Friday afternoon, July 7, after identifying air conditioning was not working. Was told a technician would be at my home between the hours of 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. and would call first. 11 p.m. came and went so I again called and was told traffic delayed him. Because of the late hour I suggested rescheduling for the next day. Saturday the technician called before coming. He inspected my air conditioning system and told me the unit had lost coolant due to break in the line, compressor and coils were badly worn and suggested replacement. Then the fun began! He had a printed list (under plastic) that showed three replacement options ranging from $8,000 to $17,000, and explained financing arrangements and a discount would be available if I signed up for the work at this time. (He did not have a copy to leave with me.) Another option was repair of the unit, although it was understood it would be a temporary fix. He then had a pre-printed form that listed options, rather like selecting an answer from a multiple answer list. The suggested "fix" was for $1,537 and if I agreed at this time and joined their Club I would be entitled to a discount. I can't think of many people in this economy who would commit to either the $1,500 option or $8,000 to $17,000 replacement without further research. Rather than either option, I agreed to the suggestion for him to put coolant in the system at this time. The technician was a very pleasant gentleman and I'm sure thorough in his evaluation of the problem. However, that no actual estimate was tailored to my situation but rather a multiple-choice solution was a troubling business practice as far as I was concerned.

Don't let these guys near your house!

They came out and replaced the air conditioner. It was 120 degrees that day. They said it would cost $12355.00. They installed and then left. After I had a chance to look around, I found most other service providers were charging only $4,000. I sent him copies of the charges from other companies. When I spoke to the owner, he simply said, "That's what it cost", and left me with that. It was a 5000btu air conditioner, and they even forgot to hook up to the return.

They basically call to schedule the service. I always have very efficient service from them. They check the unit out. They did what they had to do. My system has continued to work fine since I installed it five or six years ago.

It started out as a horrendously bad experience. After repeated calls, they were always very clean. They cleaned up the work site constantly. They were always courteous when they came out to do the inspection. They were consistently on time. They ended up correcting the problem and upgraded, at no charge, to the next size ac unit in order to correct the problem. We would highly recommend them for their professionalism, courtesy and customer service. You couldn’t do better. Our home is now cool and comfortable.
