 + -1 moreJoaquin is very nice but did not deliver. I was promised my yard would look green after a year with him. After 1.5 years, it looks the same (or worse) than it did.

 + -1 moreExtremely well for the first year or so, then the year started to deteriorate. Bare patches in yard from cutting too low, some plants cut down so small they died, while others so overgrown they overtook the space. One tree and 3 shrubs completely dead for several months and they never took them out. We did call the owner and had him out a few times to discuss, but no meaningful improvement was made. We started getting HOA complaints about our yard that is professionally maintained, so we had to let them go. I did appreciate that they skimmed the pool and cleared the front door area of leaves. That much was great.

 + -1 moreJoaquin is hardworking, professional, honest, trustworthy, client-focused, reliable, and very reasonably priced. He provides excellent service and extremely high-quality work. He knows all aspects of the business (irrigation lines, sprinkler systems, controller clocks, plant care). Impressively, he is also continually studying and learning more: although I was the first client to ask him to work on a native landscape, he had already taken a course on the subject. (A fact that helped me decide to hire him even though his company had not already been reviewed on Angie's List.) Joaquin listens carefully to your needs and works with you to ensure that you are happy with his company's work. I am glad that I found him.
Description of Work: Joaquin Ronquillo (the owner of My Castle) and his crew are helping us convert our front and back yards into desert-friendly, native landscapes. I have been researching plants and landscape design for several years now, but when it came to actually implementing the technical side of my design, I was in over my head (even after having taken several drip irrigation classes). I was stuck between hiring a company to come in and take over the whole project for me or trying to complete it myself. A friend mentioned that he knew of an excellent landscape maintenance company that might be able to help me. Joaquin and Izzy, his irrigation specialist, have been a great find. They normally do maintenance and upkeep for established landscapes--both residential and commercial. In our case, they are helping me get my design running smoothly. Their knowledge of and experience with irrigation systems, and their particular understanding of the kind of specialized drip irrigation system that my native plants need, has been invaluable, and my plants are happy to be in their care. I expect to be using My Castle on and off again until my new plants are well established (and, with luck, maintenance free!).
