MC Mojave Construction LLC

The company went out of business half way through the project. The work that was done to the shower was poor. The tile company said they would not fix the drainage issue because they had not been paid by MC Mojave. The "custom" vanity was delivered not completed, not very good workmanship on the cabinet. We paid them 3/4 of the contracted price but only got about 1/2 of the job done.

We had several contractors come out to fix a problem with the bathroom. They all wanted to charge outrageous and had mediocre designs. MC Mojave was able to fix our problem like it was no problem. They saved us a great deal of money. They met us at stores several times to pick out products. Any issues we did have were solved to our satisfaction. Very customer oriented. Wife is happy with the work and that's the important thing.

We hired MC Mojave to start our construction on June 5th. The project was supposed to take 5-7 weeks. It ended up mostly being done in the middle of October (4.5 months). First of all everything the did over the first 6 weeks had to be redone because the carpenter they hired was incompetent, so that wasted a good amount of time. By the time we were 3 months into the project, everybody who originally was on it had been fired. Also out of the first 4 weeks they only showed up at our house for 15 days total to work so besides the bad job they did that had to be redone, we saw very little of them. This project was just for our master bathroom. They hadn’t even started our kitchen project by this time but when they did, part of what we had them do was redo our cabinets. They completed them at least 3 times and still were very spotty then they told us AFTER the 3rd time that the wood that the cabinets were did not take stain well. Not sure why that didn’t come up after maybe the 1st time. We also were left with cherry colored stains on our floors, walls, & inside our cabinets that they didn’t clean up. Needless to say, the cabinet guy got fired too. We were promised when we got a new project manager that we’d be “taken care of” at the end of the never-ending project but that taking care of ended up being a $300 discount off a $35,000 project. We were also promised over & over that we’d just have to pay for the supplies for our guest bathroom tile remodel but when it came back to it they denied that as well. We hired MC Mojave because they had good ratings on websites, but I would NOT recommend them after what we went through. Our house was left in shambles for basically the whole summer as we waited for other projects they were behind on to get finished which is fun with a toddler & pregnant wife. They do not keep their promises and do not adhere to timelines whatsoever. We’ve tried contacting their office many times, but it is very hard getting ahold of something other than a voicemail & even harder to get somebody to return our call if you do leave a message. It is even harder getting ahold of the owner, who I can just assume doesn’t want to deal with his clients dissatisfaction. They also make an excuse for everything that goes wrong or blame their underlings, and take no accountability for anything really which is disappointing after so many things go wrong. Then when we asked a question about a final payment, they didn’t answer us but instead sent us a certified letter, starting the process of a lien against our house. Really they don’t want to deal with their clients and make empty promises that they never intend to follow through with. I would very strongly NOT recommend using them for your construction/remodel needs in your house, as they do not keep (or even give most of the time) deadlines and will promise you everything but follow through with nothing.
