Their professionalism was fine. My husband basically dealt with the situation, but we thought they put new rollers in or what not, and I think they ended up just kind of band aiding the situation instead of truly fixing it.

They were contracted out through Home Depot. We bought our garage door through Home Depot and that is who Home Depot uses, Martin Garage Doors. We actually bought a brand new garage door. We went to Home Depot and ordered the garage door and they came out a couple of days later because they did not have it in stock that day. We had a good experience with them the first time we used them in a different house and it was just by luck that Home Depot uses them.

It worked out fine. It makes a lot of noise when it rolls up and down and it shouldn't. He came at the right time and everything. His professionalism wasn't the best and wasn't the worst. They should have made sure that the door was quiet and operates the way it was supposed to. It's really an annoying screech that you can't get rid of.

This was an absolutely terrible experience. I called Martin to come and check out my garage door opener as it was not closing when bright sunlight hits the sensors. The technician arrived when I was away, but my mother-in-law was home. She explained the problem, but he could not duplicate the problem because the time-of-day was not right. Then, the technician told her to just put toilet paper tubes over the sensors; that's what everyone else does. Then, he tinkered around with the garage door spring, sprayed some lubricant on the door and opener track, and handed my mother-in-law a bill for $129.00. He wasn't there much longer than 15 minutes. Martin was not called to service the doors; they were called to address the opener issue. They performed service I did not ask for and charged an outrageous price for it, taking advantage of my elderly mother-in-law. They did not resolve the issue for which they were called, and offered a ludicrous solution to boot. UPDATE: Mr. Martin called my wife and then me to apologize for the service we had received. Mr. Martin was very contrite on the phone and explained that he was refunding the charges I paid. A few days later the check arrived and Mr. Martin followed up with a call to make sure I got it. Based on my wife?s and my conversations with him, I believe him to be an honest man, that this was truly a situation of an employee needing correction, and that he was genuinely mortified after reading my review. I amend my grade of professionalism to a ?B? and overall grade to a ?C? in light of Mr. Martin?s handling of this matter.

The tech arrived on time and examined my garage door. He determined that a roller had to be replaced and the garage door track was not installed properly, which caused the door to pull to one side. This caused the lead roller to hit where the upper and lower track meet. The roller would get chewed up and be pulled out of the track. The tech replaced the roller and adjusted the the track so the door is closed with even pressure on all sides. He also gave me some pointers on lubricating the door. He was very professional and did a great job. He could have just replaced the roller and left, but he took the time too find out why the roller was popping out the track and fixed it. The cost was reasonable and I would highly recommend Martin garage doors for future work.

They didn't call or show up, and I waited. I consider this very unprofessional and would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Don't waste your time. They didn't show up or call to say they couldn't make it. Very unprofessional! I called early Monday, January 14, 2013 morning and asked for a technician to come out because had backed into the garage door and it was stuck all the way open. Tony said that a technician would call me between 12 and 3 with a half hour window before he came out. I called Tony back at 3:15 and explained that I hadn't received a call and was wondering if they were going to make it. He looked up my file and responded that the technician was too busy, and that he couldn't come out until tomorrow. I could have called many others during that long window of time and wish that I had read the reviews posted here before making my call. It's very inconsiderate for people to not call or to make appointments that they can't keep. It happens to be 33 degrees outside today and I have two small children. I don't feel safe sleeping with my garage door wide open all night. Now I have no other choice so, I made another call to another company who is now coming out at the last minute and is also charging me an "emergency fee" . I hope that they will keep their word.

(Member name removed) is correct. Our technician did not call her before 3:15 PM. Here is what our records show - she called in earlier that same day, Monday, January 14th at 9:01 AM requesting help. Our schedule was full, but we agreed to come to her home between 12:00 Noon and 5:00 PM. She was informed that her job would probably be late in the day. We have two time slots each day - either 8 to 12 or 12 to 5. We do not schedule jobs at particular times. She called in at 3:15 and said she could not wait any longer and she cancelled. We also have emergency rates and if a customer wants to pay emergency rates, we will drop everything and come immediately, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. She was trying to get her job done at regular rates and could not wait until we could come later that afternoon AT REGULAR RATES. Tony was correct when he said that Roberto was too busy to come before 3:00 PM. We take calls in the order they are received, unless it is at emergency rates. Her call would have been done about 4:30 that day. We are sorry she felt she needed to cancel, and we feel badly that she ended up paying emergency rates to a competitor.

I am still waiting to hear from them. The above complaint was submitted to the BBB on 08/13/12 and so far these people have not answered to any of the notices. I will never do business with them again, let alone recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: On 8/1/11 Ryan from Martin Doors came to install insulation on my garage door. He told me that I had to change the spring because if I didn't, it would not last and it would brake. I asked him how much would a new door cost and he said $725 plus $240 for the insulation. He showed me the insulation that would come with the door and I asked twice (pointing at the fasteners) if it would look like the one he was showing me. He assured me that it would. He mention that the next door model was about $500 more because of the steel gauge and the warranty. Since the new door would look better and I would have a new warranty, I decided to buy the $965 one, called the Basic Model. He also told me that the warranty on the door was 10 years. The next day, he came and before he installed the door he said that the old door I had was better because it was bought at Home Depot. I took a pick at the insulation and noticed that there were no fasteners like the one he has showed me the day before, but I assumed that he was going to install them later when the door were in place. My son paid with his cc. I left him alone, and did not see the door until he was done. I went in the garage and noticed ripples on the insulation (mostly on 1 panel), a dent on the metal backing of the bottom panel, and there were no fasteners holding the insulation against the door. I asked him why those metal pieces were not there and he said that this insulation was better and those pieces were inside the metal backing of the door. I did not pursue the matter since he had been working in a hot garage for about 3 hours. To avoid conflicts, I did not say anything about the ripples and the dent. He left and I closed the door, that is when I noticed the light coming thru the creases of the door. Something did not look right. The light filtering was not uniform along the panel joints, but rather here and there on about 7 different places, and I am not referring to the top, bottom, or sides. The panels did not seem right. Since Ryan had barely left and I assumed that he would be at lunch, I decided to wait until 1 pm to give him a call. I left him a voice mail and expressed my concerns saying that the door did not look right, that I was not sure if this was a manufacturer's defect. He did not reply to my call, so I called the office next morning asking for Ryan to come and check the door. I only mentioned the light coming thru at this time to keep it short. The receptionist told me that Ryan was going to come that day 8/2/12 as soon as he was done with the job he was doing. Ryan did not show up and I did not get a call until later saying that Ryan knew exactly what was wrong and that he would come to fix the door. He came the following Tuesday and brought foam insulation to fix the problem. I asked him about the ripples and the dent. He offered to change the bottom panel, but he could not do anything about the ripples on the other panel, because this is the way the insulation comes. I told him that this was not what he had showed me. He only apologized for the misunderstanding. This time, he said that the new door is better than the old one which confused me. We argued for little bid about what he had told me before. No adjustment to the panels was done and I declined the foam, so he left. I have been in contact with Mr. Ken Martin the general manager since 8/3/12 and have asked him to replace the door, but he refuses. I have been asking him to send a supervisor, but he does not seem to be interested. He is telling me that the door I bought has only 6 years warranty but he would honor the 10 years and foam insulation. Wow, I thought that I had bought a door with the 10 years warranty to begin with. He has suggested arbitration. I did not receive the door and insulation I was shown and expected. When the door was offered to me, I understood that I was buying a well made product, less steel gauge, but no flaws. I believe that I have been victim of misrepresentation. Do not use Martin Garage Doors.

(Member name removed) complaint is not truthful and both the Better Business Bureau and the Nevada State Contractor's Board have heard her case and ruled in our favor. She still persists in publishing her untruthful complaint, even after being warned by our lawyer. If anyone would like to know the full story, please call us at 702-617-1645 and talk to the manager. Stay away, Workman ship is terrible $1128 door has bolts not flush to the wall. Squeaking already after two weeks. Marilyn very rude on phone and continues to blow you off and then hangs up on you, Very rude. I'll make this as short as I can. I had to stop payment through my CC because Martins Doors (Garage) which I needed one and after telling the worker Ryan that I need to match the color of the other doors in the development which are a light Tan which most house's have and some have a light green. But my door which matched the house was Tan. Ryan say's no problem the only difference the panels will be slightly different and from across the street you won't be able to tell the difference. I told him styles change but my only concern is the color, He assure me there would be no problem. After the work was done he came with a bill of sale which I signed. He showed me the door going up and down from the inside and I said ok never thinking to check the outside for the color. We agree on the color who thought he would slip in a White door. I paid and about 10 minutes later I told my wife lets see what it looks like from the outside. I went outside and the door was white and it was about the whitest white can be. It looked terrible not matching house and now I'm going to have to deal with the HOA. I called and spoke to a Marilyn who told me the boss was not here and this was a Thursday and he wouldn't be back till Monday. I said that's when your going to swipe my CC and that's when she said I won't do anything until we resolve this matter. I told her at that time I was leaving town on Tuesday and wouldn't be back until Saturday so I would appreciate her getting in touch with me on Monday. On Monday around early afternoon I had to call her to see what's up and she didn't even remember me I had to remind her. She then said I'm in a meeting with the boss Ken about how to resolve the problem and I'll call back within the hour. I waited two hours and she said I'm still in a meeting and never heard from her again that day. Tuesday came I left town but before that I made sure she had my Cell number and she never call. When I got back my CC had been used for the purchase without her ever calling me to find a solution to the problem. When I called Monday she said Ryan said I asked for White and they didn't have almond anyway (I told her I would have waited) and there's nothing they can do except to recommend a painter to spray the door at my expense which is about a $500 job. Terrible company . If you need a garage door or any door for that matter buyer beware. This is on there web site Broken Garage Door? We will always give you an honest and fair price. We take pride in doing our work right the first time and we stand behind our workmanship and materials. After taking a closer look there's two bolts not flush into to the wall and the door squeaks when it goes up and when it goes downeven after using 3/1 oil it stops for a day. It didn't when we tested it a couple of times but I'm thinking maybe it's out of alignment. This is the short version there really is a lot more to the story and the way I was treated. You would expect a company that say's that it's been in business since 1936 would treat there customers with a little more class that was shown me by Ryan and Marilyn Of course Big business backed Big Business and Chase denied my claim. They sent I believe a long statement to Chase I never had a chance. My statement was one page telling my story. Buy a Martin Door at your own risk. This happen June 14th I haven't posted anything waiting for the Chase decision. This company should be ashamed. The one thing that bothers me is the decision was made strictly by the statements nobody came down to look at the job they did. Paul Sampugnaro

Mr. (member name removed) ordered a white garage door in writing on a signed contract. He claims to have ordered an almond colored door. We installed the white garage door and he inspected it and signed for it after the work was done. Then he paid us for the job on a credit card. His homeowner's association then informed him that the white garage door did not meet their restrictive covenants and that he would need to paint it to match the community colors. Our almond color also would NOT have matched the community colors. In an attempt to blame our company for putting in garage doors that did not match his community colors, he stopped payment on his American Express card. Their arbitration department received his complaint and accepted our response. They ruled in our favor after we produced the signed contract, the signed satisfaction agreement signed after the work was done, and our explanation accompanied by statements of eyewitnesses. They ruled in our favor and we were paid. We wish he had caught this color problem before he signed the contract and especially, before he had the work done. As it was, he received what he ordered and what he paid for - a top-quality door in a color that needed repainting.

Martin Garage Door Factory Direct was very prompt at coming out to fix my garage door. The service guy seemed to know what he was doing, but they did not put in a quality garage door when they installed it 2 years ago.
