Their employee, Adam Ross, promised me, in no uncertain terms, our goods would be delivered within three days and that the 26ft. truck they were delivering in would have no problem getting to our new home. Two days before our promised pick up day, I had to call and email to find out when they would be at our house. In response I received an email stating they would pick up in five days, not two! After more calls and emails, that was corrected. At pickup, the driver immediately went into a pitch, claiming his people didn't count right, that we have too many small boxes, too many pictures, too much glass, that they have to use extra packing material, etc, etc., despite his company having done a visual inspection and estimate, promising to pack all our pictures and glass being included in their estimate. I don't have time to argue since we have to get moved and on the road, so we tell him to do his best. Massive wrapping and packing effort begins, a few things get dropped, but nothing major seems to go wrong. Everything is loaded and the driver says we should have our stuff in a couple of days, but, "remember, we have up to 24 days to deliver". Ok, Ok, but we have a promise of 2 -3 days, so we are not worried. We get to our destination the next day, Saturday. On Sunday, a man with a thick, "eastern european" (his description) accent, calls to say they'll be delivering our things later in the day. Nobody shows up or calls by Monday, so we call Monday afternoon. Same guy tells us he is really close to our place. Says he has a 70 foot tractor-trailer, and wants to know "will that be a problem". What?? Are you kidding me!? What happened to the promised 26 foot truck. He says he doesn't know anything about that and says, "Here's what you'll have to do...pay us $440 and we'll get a shuttle, load your stuff on it and come to your place and unload it." "You have to pay cash for this and it's in addition to the $1600 cash you owe us right now. When can you be here, we're really close to where you live?" We ask where they are but are given the run around, something about they could be driving to another location, have to unload right away. Then he says, "if you can't do the $440 then you can rent a van yourself, bring it here, we'll unload our trailer into your truck and come with you to unload it at your place, but it's going to cost you $220 more". So, at 6:45PM, we scramble to find a Uhaul center with an available truck, and getting the last 26 footer available. Upon calling back to let the mover know we secured a truck, we're finally told his 70 foot trailer is at a trucking center, 4o miles away from us (not exactly "really close to our place"). Now, having rented a truck close to us, we have to drive it 80 miles, round trip, at $.79 a mile, costing us even more. Between our car trip to pick up the truck, transport us and two moving helpers, truck rental, etc., we spend an another $200. Finally got all our stuff (inventory list is missing two boxes. Haven't unpacked everything yet, fingers crossed that it's just a numbering error). Bottom line; our things were held hostage until we paid the mover's extra charge and rented a Uhaul.

Response from LV Moving Co.
This review is very extreme due to high emotions. There are always 2 options regarding delivery, either a person can be flexible and save money or they can pay for a guaranteed delivery. Every licensed moving company strives to deliver in as timely a fashion as possible. Occasionally, a person's purchase of a new home is declined at the last minute and then the best a moving company can do is react when there is not sufficient notice. The only thing any customer is ever asked to do is to be flexible, unfortunately, if the truck arrives and there is need of a shuttle there is an additional fee and no one likes additional fees. So, we end up with this type of review, but it is more common that we get the type of review Ms. Hackie gave us only 1 month later. We sincerely hope the average consumer understands that no one will complain when they are not upset, but it is because they are upset when they do that there is so much embellishment in their stories. Also, if you only get good reviews, you are not in business - just ask Disney. They get over 1 million complaints daily, 99% are frivolous, unfounded and unrealistic. LV Moving is Accredited with the BBB and ranked as the 13th best long distance moving company nationwide against the best.
