It turned out very well. We worked closely with Mark, the owner. They followed up and came back to repaired some small problems we had with our sprinkler system. They took good care of us and we are happy with the work.
Description of Work: We have a rental townhome where our backyard had flooded. They came in and graded the back and side yard as well as installed french drains. They also put in a patio with paver blocks and planted trees and shrubs.

The workmanship is incredible! We love our new backyard oasis. Mark was a consummate professional and very attentive to our needs and concerns. There were minor communication issues in the beginning that were quickly rectified once brought to his attention. We did lose one [of over 15] plants that didn't take, but Mark has promised to replace it once the weather cools off in the next couple of weeks. I have no regrets in choosing Living Water Lawn and Garden LLC. I had three contractors bid on this project -- Mark's price was competitive and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. You won't go wrong with this landscaping extraordinaire! A+ George
Description of Work: Complete landscaping of back yard: Living Water Lawn and Garden LLC designed and constructed for us a two-burner fire pit, custom water feature and built-in gas grill – all of which are encased within matching stone veneer. We also had our patio stained, beautiful pavers laid throughout the yard and a patch artificial turf to complete our groundwork. Decorative stone and succulent plants surround the perimeter to provide the finishing touches.

The design phase included many back and forth give and take interactions because I knew I wanted to give my beautiful home the curb appeal and front yard it deserved. The house had been neglected for years and we wanted to create a desert friendly, HOA approved, take your breathe away, but work with the unusual two story brick house design. Mark was patient, creative, knowledgeable, responsive and created several great 3D designs. Once we settled on a general concept Living Waters completed all the paperwork for HOA approval including the document for refund request after the project was completed so that the refund process would not be delayed for any reason. Because of the hot weather and our HOAs hands on diligence about keeping yards green and gorgeous even during demos, we waited until the end of July to begin. The demolition process was fast and furious and despite the magnitude of the job (30 year old bushes/hedges) was done in very fast order. But the installation was even more prompt. The new plants were delivered and installed as well as the new irrigation and lighting systems and the new large multicolor, shape, and size grey and red toned river rock beds. The new yard was installed even more quickly than I imagined despite the very large size and the scope of the complete make over. The end product is truly more exceptional than I had imagined (and I had very high expectations). Indeed neighbors walked and stopped and stared for quite some time all week long. Several neighbors came over to introduce themselves and welcome us to the neighborhood. Even the US Postal Service worker commented on how great it looks. As a result, we are having Living Waters do more work. The spectacular look of the front yard only made the back yard pale by comparison. Both Mark and Christine were available by text and email throughout the process so that I could ask them a quick question and get a quick response without dealing with voice mail or email. With an extremely diligent HOA this was a constant comfort and great to make the process less stressful when you are literally ripping out your entire front yard and starting over in a forty year plus gate guarded HOA intensive neighborhood.
Description of Work: Living Waters designed and installed a new front yard together with hard scape revitalization and lighting. They are in the process of installing a paver path and a small poolside paver patio in our backyard because of the positive experience with the front yard, design, approval, demolition, and installation.

They did an incredible job!! They removed grass etc from the back yard. They replaced with desert landscaping with lights and built around palm trees and added a waterfall near the pool. They also added pavers in the back and a patio. Also did pavers along the side of my house and built a planter in the front. They were referred to me by a friend and I am so glad I had them come out for that initial consultation. Mark put together a fantastic video presentation that blew me away!! They did everything they said they would do-there were no surprises-no hidden "oh by the way" add on charges!! The work started when they said it would, and finished when they said they would finish. I am very very impressed and would highly recommend them to anyone who is contemplating a remodel or upgrade to their yard!! Thanks so much Mark and job forman Luis!!!! Mike Hedderman

Mark was very understanding since we spent a little more on the inside of our new purchase that was anticipated. We are currently putting the backyard renovation on hold.
Description of Work: Mark from Living Water came to our new home and reviewed our backyard on a promotion that we had purchased for an evaluation. Mark listened to our wants and took notes. He then proceeded to prepare a layout of the backyard and return to discuss.

We met Mark at a landscaping show and were impressed with his work and personality. We bid out the project to two companies, and LW produced by far the better design. We worked and tweaked the design several times to arrive at a design we really liked and could afford?and Mark worked closely with us making adjustments along the way. He used a landscaping program that allowed him to create 3D movies of the landscape design and then uploaded to YouTube. This was extremely helpful so we could view (and have friends and family view) the designs and evolve our thinking. LW then handled all correspondence and approvals with the HOA?which was a huge benefit. LW arrived to break ground as scheduled, with a crew of 6-8. They came every morning between 7 and 7:30 and worked until between 4 and 5pm. Very hard working guys?short breaks?no sitting around?no wasting our money. We ran into several things during the construction that we hadn?t thought about. For example, just as they were starting installation of the pavers, we mentioned to Mark that we were thinking about putting in a spa on top of the hardscape under our balcony?and he suggested they run the conduit for wiring before the hardscape was installed. So within an hour that was done and the hardscape was underway! The LW supervisor was great and very accommodating. Mark was on site every couple days to inspect the work and usually was more critical than we were. He has a very high standard that he expects his projects to meet?and boy did they! The nice thing about working with LW is the personal touch they provide. When I visited some of the projects they had done, I noticed that these customers dialogue with Mark like he was their friend, not just a supplier. That personal touch is what sold me on working with them. He probably isn?t the cheapest (although certainly very competitive), but he produces high quality work that he stands behind and will fix any problems long after he has received his final payment. He worked with us very closely, helping craft the design that met our dreams AND our budget. It turned out GREAT! I would highly recommend Living Waters.

Mark was a very nice guy, but after waiting for 3 weeks I just really felt like the work done was rushed and basic. I think he forgot us initially and then tried to make up for lost time- it seemed like he didn't need us and his product was not what we had discussed or requested. After we had received his design, he never called to follow up with us.

We did an amazing design for you. Doing a design, especially one as extensive and detailed as yours, is a creative process that requires time. Your design was not rushed, or do we feel, basic. When we called you to schedule a meeting to go over the design details you refused a meeting and just wanted the pricing. When we sent you the pricing, we never heard back from you. We did not forget about you. We spent a great deal of time, energy and effort working on your landscape design. Your design took 2 weeks to complete,as we told you it would when we intially met you. Here is the email I sent to you after you refused your meeting with us and demanded pricing. This email was dated 1/25/13: "My apologies for not being more clear that our design work can take up to 2 weeks to complete. Mark met with you on 1/10 and had the design to you by 1/24. We send the design to our potential clients first without the pricing so that you can review and if you want to make changes we can do that accordingly then price things out. We will be more than happy to give you the estimate that correlates with our current design. If you and you husband would like to meet again when you have had a chance to review everything when he returns, please give me a call or email and I will schedule the meeting." We would have been happy to make any changes to the design if you would have taken the time to discuss the details with us. As you can see from my email that I copied from my inbox and pasted here, we put the ball in your court after we sent you everything and you were the one who did not call back. You were quite rude to me when I was trying to coordinate a meeting and we figured you getting back to us at your convenience would be the most appropriate way to handle the situation. Your review was not accurate as to how things actually happened.

Made an appointment two weeks ago. came this morning. They said the whole project no less than $5,000 over the phone. I told them I will hire a paver guy to do the paver and hire him to be our landscaper if we use them. That will leave them 8-10 grants. They refused to work with this proposal. The estimator thinks I am not their customer because I am trying to save money and I want to subcontract out the paver. Then he told me I am not their customer and leave. No measurement. For me, they are not really nice. if you are millionnaire and never shop around, then they will be nice to you. I told him my wife got layed off last friday and I cutted my budget from 30 grants to 15 grants. If I hire a paver guy to do my 600 sqft paver stuff, it is at leaset 8-9 grants left to him to do landscape. I do not understand why they can not work with the paver guy I hire to do landscaping at the same. But he said their company only do the whole project instead of allowing me to subcontract paver out. I told him I alrady have several bids. Then He said I am the one who only care the price. Anyway, the guy thinks I am not their customers and they do not want to work with me because I am a kind of cheap customer for them because I plan to subcontract the paver. if you want to work with them. be prepared, you must be rich, never negotiate with them about the price. never allow you to subcontract any partial of project. you even should not have any bids. if you have any above, you will not be their customer type. you need at have 20 grant above. apprantly, they do not think 8-10k is the project that they want to do. I am just curiours, There are several other landscaper with better reviews and I do not think their work will be worse than yours. All of our middle-class will go to them since they can help us save money. not like you, you will not do the project for us because we are cheap and we want to save money. It means you only work for millionaires?

We are very sorry that we have offended you. We treat each person we meet whether in business or our personal life with respect. We treated you with respect and were upfront and honest with you, stating we didn’t think we were the best contractor for your project. We do not treat “rich” people better than the middle class, nor value their business over the middle class. Reviews from clients we have worked with in the past show we do not cater to only the very “rich”. We are a company that prefers to be contracted for the entire project (hardscape and landscape) if the project entails both, as we are a mason and landscape contractor. Instead of wasting your time, we were forthcoming in telling you that we were not the best fit for your project due to the fact that you were planning to subcontract out all of the work in order to get better pricing. It is necessary to be a discerning business owner. It is just as important to know when to decline bidding a project as to know when to bid a project. We made the decision to decline bidding on your project for professional and business reasons, it was not personal.

We first met the folks at Living Water at a Home Show at Cashman Center when we first moved to Las Vegas. We had bought a nice home that had a pool but absolutely no landscaping. We knew the magnitude of the work was large so we divided it into phases. The first phase included the side yard and the backyard. We got three bids and Living Water was tied for the lowest bid. We sat down with Mark at Living Water and discussed his design concepts with regard to us eof existing plants. bed shape, selection of lawn materials and hardscape materials. Mark convinced us that some of our original wants would not integrate well with the pool. He went through several rounds of revisions to create just the atmosphere we wanted. Living Water was more than happy to help provide the drawings and pictures i needed to get HOA approval of the project. When we awarded the Phase I work to Living Water, I told them that I was a stickler for schedules and needed to know what time his crews would arrive and leave and how much work they would complete each week. They gladly provided a schedule and his crews were always here at least as long as promised if not longer. Their hardscaping work was a work of artful beauty as they created an internal design within the paver side on the walkways. Throughout the job they communicated clearly and quickly when unanticipated issues arose. Unlike so many contractors, they did not try to use these issues to ncrease their price dramatically. When finished the back yard was transformed from a barren desert to a paradise that we spent much of our time in. Given the success with our Phase I work with Living Water, we asked them for a sole quote on the front yard but did not tell them they were not bidding other companies. By this time we had an idea of what the value of the work should be and felt that the excellent craftsmanship that Living Water provided could not be guaranteed with another company. Living Water came in below our budget and we awarded them the job. Again they provided a schedule which the consistently met. Working in the front yard for the Phase II work, they consistently met the requirements of my HOA not to place landscaping materials on the street and to leave it always clean.. Once again they displayed the artistic nature of their people with the magnificent patterns they built into the Travertine tile. When the project was complete my front yard was transformed from the run of the mill builder grade landscaping to the nicest yard in the subdivision. The Phase III work was small by comparison to the first two phases. But the Living Water crews still showed the same detail to providing a top quality product. Our home is at the entrance of the neighborhood and we have constantly had residents and guests stop and ask us who did our landscaping. We are more than happy to give these folks the name of Living Water. We have recently bought a home in Texas and one of my biggest regrets is that I cannot take the Living Water crews with me to Texas to landscape that property.
Description of Work: Phase I - Removed all of the gray gravel that comprised all of the landscaping Installed a wrought iron fence and pavers to for a dog run Installed paver walkways from the side yard to the main patio and from the secondary patio to the RV area. Installed raised planters retained with hardscape blocks Extended patio with pavers Installed outdoor kitchen Installed overhead pergola over patio and outdoor kitchen Installed secondary patio with fireplace Installed fencing between backyard and RV area Installed all landscape plants and gravel cover Installed 1700 square feet of grass Installed irrigation system and clock Installed 12 volt landscape lighting with two control boxes Phase II Installed paver driveway Installed steps from front of house to street Installed retaining walls to provide a sculpted landscaping effect Revised front yard hardscaping Revised front yard landscaping Installed revised irrigation system Installed 12 volt landscape lighting with third control box Installed travertine tile over new front steps and in existing courtyard Installed landscaping in courtyard with irrigation system Installed 12 volt landscape lighting in courtyard Installed fountain in courtyard with automatic re-fill Installed alumawood overhead pergola in courtyard Installed paver walkway from driveway to side yard gate Phase III Installed final raised bed in back yard Raised valve box for irrigation system Installed landscaping in raised bed Installed raised bed for tree Installed new tree Modified irrigation system

Initally they were responsive - but that wanted after the visit. I had to follow up and number of times by phone requesting an ETA on the drawings. When finally received, I felt that they were only a partial representation of the backyard. Their cost estimates were twice the amount of my other 2 contractors and I just didn't feel that I was important to them.
Description of Work: They offered a landscape inspection and 3D CAD drawings with suggested improvements for both the front and rear yards - seemed like a great price for some good ideas. I figured if I were inspired by their idea - I'd use them for the contacting.

Do a walk-through before you pay. May sure you understand any discrepencies between the plan, the bill and the work actually done.
Description of Work: This is an update on some work that this vendor did for us in 2008 I would strongly recommend, if using this vendor, you DO A WALK-THROUGH to check and make sure the work was done according to the plan. We found out that they had not included stepping stones for which we were billed and they later had to come out and do them. In addition, we are having our yard re-landscaped and had occasion to pull out the plans that Living Water had done. We found in going over them that we were billed for 128 plants, but their plan showed only 115. Of the 115 plants, 7 were existing that were not replaced. We have tried contacting the company . Their response was that "sometimes the amount of plants installed can change based on the needs of the actual landscape. The design is never set in stone, we make modifications and adjustments as needed when we are installing a project." An 18% increase in the number of plants was not discussed with us. We trusted them as they were recommended by a friend. After 5 years, it is likely too late for us to rectify this. Lesson learned.

Work for this homeowner was completed 5 years ago. The review that has been given is not for work that was done at that time. The review is due to the homeowner believing she was over charged and has brought this to our attention 5 years after the project has been complete. This was a job that was well done and received no complaints from the homeowner after the installation. The homeowner used our services on a few different occasions, all with no complaint or dissatisfaction. Now, 5 years since the project has been complete, the homeowner is coming back to us stating we over charged for plants. We stated that designs were not set in stone and can change based on the actual needs of the landscape during installation. We also stated to the homeowner that each new plant installed is HAND COUNTED AFTER INSTALLATION in order to ensure an accurate plant count at the time of invoicing. We asked the homeowner when she contacted us recently (5 years after the project was completed) if the plants in her landscape could be re-counted now (because we believe we counted every plant installed before we billed for them, 5 years ago), and it was stated that she could not count the plants in question because they had all been recently removed. We stated to the homeowner we would not credit back plants that we believe we installed according to the final invoice, plants that had been recently removed. Once the homeowner understood we would not issue a credit, we were threatened with a negative review. We believe this is an unfair rating and review, as there is no way to actually prove whether or not there was an over charge for plants since we cannot go back and count them. At the time of installation, 5 years ago, we did a walk through with the homeowner as we do with all of our clients. It IS our policy and WAS our policy 5 years ago to hand count each plant installed for accurate billing. We believe this homeowner got everything she paid for, which would have been 128 plants.

It was a complex project and it was completed on time, to our satisfaction, and within budget. The project required completion of the following tasks: 1. Installation of a patio cover. 2. Installation of a built-in BBQ grill. 3. Installation of patio pavers and flagstone walkway. 4. Installation of landscaping boulders and gravel. 5. Installation of plants and trees and landscaping lighting. 6. Installation of an irrigation system 7. Application of stucco and painting the privacy wall. 8. Installation of a running water fountain. 9. Staining of the concrete patio area.
Description of Work: The project involved changing an undeveloped backyard into an outdoor living space worthy of an HGTV featured project. A huge benefit of working with Mark and company was his ability to successfully obtain two HOA's approvals. The next benefit was Mark's design experience and knowledge. We had no idea as to what elements would 'work' or not. To help us, he provided a computer design that we could view online on our home PC. Desired adjustments were quickly made to our satisfaction. The cost estimate was reasonable, although not inexpensive. Other contractors were less costly, but could do the HOA applications and lacked design knowledge. The project was completed on schedule with no significant glitches.

On our first call to them, I was put on hold for about 5 min., then had to leave a message on voice mail. They did not return the call on the next business day. When I called them the second time, I was told that they have a minimum job of $5000. Just be aware of this minimum if you have a smallish job like we do.
Description of Work: After an addition to our home we needed about half the front yard landscaped and concrete courtyard and sidewalk replaced with pavers. (This $ amount is only an estimate as we have not yet had the job done.)

We apologize this client for your dissatisfaction with our company. We try very hard to return calls prompty and with all respect. It is possible that I was out of the office the next business day after your voice mail was left. If you were put on hold for that amount of time at your initial call, I assure you it was not for lack of attention to you, but due to something that required immediate attention. We appreciate and value time and would not have intentionally wasted yours. Our minimum is in place not to offend potential clients, but rather to ensure a good fit between the two parties.

The designer Chris was right on time, listened to our needs and produced a beautiful design by later the same day. After interviewing another landscaper that didn't produce a design in a timely manor we selected Living water. They went out of their way to work with our HOA and even delivered everything to the office for us. They started the construction the week after we got HOA approval and completed the job in 3 days exactly as planned. We are extremely pleased with our beautiful yard and would highly recommend Living Water.

My first contact was on October 5th. We discussed what I was looking to have done -- types and sizes of plants, where the lawn area would be, etc. On the 19th I met with Mark, the owner, to go over the plans. We made several changes, however the concept was very much on target. They started work on the 24th and were finished on the 28th. The crew was promp, efficient and took great care to cover my new pool deck. Every evening the yard was cleaned up and the materials well protected in the front. Final clean up was excellent. I have had several homes landscaped and this was the best experience I have had. I would not hesitate to recommend Living Water and will use them in the future. They listened to my ideas and translated to the design and installation. Very excellent.
Description of Work: They removed most of the old vegitation and rock. Designed my rear yard around the new pool and spa with trees, shrubs, vines and a lawn area for my dog. They replaced the entire irrigation system and built a BBQ area and path to the front drive as well as a pad for a storage shed. They rearranged the front and added a large tree and additional shrubs. They also installed a lighting system using timers and lights I had from a previous home.

This is the third home we have completely re-landscaped over the years and it was, by far, the most enjoyable! Mark and his team, not only do excellent work, we were especially pleased with their "can do" attitude with the changes and inevitable challenges that naturally come up on a project that virtually integrated all aspects of professional landscaping in one small yard. They also started our project on the day promised and stayed with the job full time until it was done. Most important, we are completely satisfied with the result and truly love our new back yard. Thanks Living Waters!
Description of Work: This was a challenging small backyard that desperately needed a complete overhaul! Living Waters provided a comprehensive design that included a built-in island bar, BBQ, raised paver deck, a built-in Spa, a waterfall with pond, extensive planting, irrigation, and a complete lighting system. All work was completed right on schedule, within three weeks, for exactly the price quoted - except for a few minor changes we chose to add as we progressed that were outside the original design quote.

Dear Mark, I know it has taken me way to long to put this experience together, but I feel like it is time to thank you. Your professionalism is top notch...just like your work! When we first hired Living Water to fix our landscaping and stone work, I never imagined that I would look at the outside of our home and be so thrilled. Because of my husbands keen sense for perfection, I'm sure we gave him a run for his money:). We changed course many times and Mark never argued with us, he did everything he could to make sure that we were happy. If anyone looking through these customer experiences needs to speak with a real customer, I would be excited to talk with you and let you know that you are in great hands. Thank you again Mark and the Living Water Team! PS - The stairs in front of our house are magnificent and people comment about them all the time...It was a great design idea and Mark came up with it!

The majority of the work was done in one week and on time. The workers were polite and they arrived on time and cleaned up after each work day. Living Water returned when they said they would to complete such things as out-door lighting installation and concrete staining. Living Water is a company that is easy and professional to work with and I am very please with the results.
Description of Work: We love the work Living Water has done with our front yard landscape. We had a good lay-out to begin with, but Living Water has brought our front yard landscape to the next level with their professional installation of the retainer wall, paver steps, crushed granite, irrigation system, sod and plantings, out-door lighting, and the stained concrete walk-way and porch. Living Water has brought us from worst to first on our block.

It took some time to get on the work scheduled but it all turned out great. We have a map of how the new water lines were laid. The water district gave us a very nice rebate and we have people slowing down to look our beautiful new landscaping.
Description of Work: After our appointment with Las Vegas Water District, we began quoting landscapers to take our front, side and back yard to desert. Mark gave a presentation on his laptop to walk through how our yard would look. He made suggestions on many details and plant selections. We wanted to get the rebate from the water district so he gave us some options. After the deposit, he gave us a design to submit to our HOA for approval. We needed a cement curb pulled out, stumps pulled, and tree cut down that would have done some future damage to our pull. He incorporated our existing stones.

Living Water Landscape personnel were all extremely professional. Although there were unavoidable delays in starting the project due to weather concerns, once the project was started it was completed in a timely manner that caused no hardship for us. We converted to desert landscaping to reduce our water usage, and are already realizing greater than a 50% reduction in water use. I would recommend Living Water to anyone seeking to convert their landscape to an attractive, water efficient design.
Description of Work: This project was a landscape conversion from a lawn to a low water use design. The conversion included replacement of the existing concrete front porch with a porch area and walkway constructed using pavers.

They are to do a little bit of hard features, put some artificial grass, some trees and whole backyard. Their estimate is for $14,000. They are very professional and they have very creative ideas. I would use them in the future.

From day one after we gave Mark from LWL&G our rough drawing he kept us in the loop till he came out with a complete Professional Design of how we imagined our yard would look like when completed. The landscaping design was absoulutely amazing,it was our ideas but made 100 times better."LWL&G NAILED IT ".Now all we had to do was choose, the type of pavers and pattern for the ground, type of stone for the wall and water feature, color of the Led for the waterfall and types of bushes, shrubs, and plants we wanted installed.Mark had a folder with all the types of plants, pavers, water feature sizes and colors to choose from which made our task so much easier. We saw Mark from LWL&G one more time in person to see if their would be any other changes to the final design prior to installation. We ask to change a couple of plants and flowers at the last minute to which LWL&G was very receptive to with no change to the original estimate. This was an extremely cold December and January but when the crew of about 8 workers plus a foreman came out they jumped right in working like a well oiled machine and had it completed in less than 5 working days.Mark came out a couple times to review the work with his foreman to make sure we got what was expected in quality and service.NOTE: LWL&G MIGHT NOT BE THE CHEAPEST ,I can't say one way or the other, their policy is to install what you requested that's all. It's like buying a car from a dealership, one might quote you $15,000 for a car that might go for $14,900 down the street the difference is the quality of the service and honesty. The other landscapers we contacted were so unprofessional , so lazy that they would'nt even come up with a drawing of the design, they actually wanted me to go and get the pavers ,fountain, plants, flowers and extenstion cord ( extension cord was to be buried in the dirt for the fountain) from the local gardening shop. We lost 9 plants due to the extended freeze and we knew it was'nt LWL&G fault but their warranty stated they would cover them for 90 days, sure enough when I called to request replacement of the damaged plants Mark said he would come out and inspect them and replace them as needed. All 9 plants were installed at no charge, they also moved the electrical outlet behind the fountain lower because you could see it from the living room windows. Additional note: I can't thank Keith Howard Operations Mgr. enough for coming out and replacing all the dead plants, replacing the electrical outlet box and lowering it so it was'nt visable from any windows, cleaning and sealing all the pavers for us. EXCELENT,EXCELLENT SERVICE, LOVE THE BACK YARD !!!!!!!
